American Mary is probably my favorite body-horror movie right now. Can't say enough good things about this movie. Katherine Isabelle, and directed by the Twisted Twins!

A body horror movie similar (but differenr) to The Sibstance is the Roger Corman flick The Wasp Woman (1959). Yes, it's a B-movie and there's no real gore, but it's still a good movie and a fun watch. Thanks for the list GremlinGirl!
Possessor is great, definitely one of the best body horrors in recent years! Tetsuo: The Iron Man is a pretty wild body horror! The Substance is a masterpiece! ✌🏻
Some great movies on this list. Though I have yet to see The Substance, the general plot sounds a bit like a couple of old Hollywood B movies,The Wasp Woman,and The Leech Woman. SPOILER: She didn't turn into an actual leech, which disappointed me greatly as a child. Cheers!
I like body horror, but I'm definitely more of a Cronenberg or Carpenter person. I tried watched Repo, but it was just too...cheesy?...not sure if that's what I'm looking for, but it wasn't for me. I also can't stand the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and it had the same vibe to me.
only saw the substance a few days ago on sat 11 january cuz only came out here in romania 10 jan well it was an experience XD Chick i went with said Terrifier 3 was less gross than this haha
