Just fixed a Homelite today. Pretty much the same as yours. Fixing it kind of comes down to what are you’re plans with it? Use it or sale it? Does have some good parts. I enjoy bringing them back to life for the neighborhood kids to use during the summer. 40 some dollars sounds about right.
Yes both valid questions I constantly deal with, but I try to compare the repair parts cost against the cost of a used running unit in my area. I’m ok with it being a wash on labor if someone is in need of one, but sometimes it makes more sense to buy a known good running unit for the same price used than go through the effort with one this beat. Thanks for sharing, good to hear about others fixing these to help their neighborhood.
