I’ve got the straight shaft version, works great and eats all my shitty old gas without an issue, I like the spool on it and I haven’t touched my larger ryobi in 2 years, worth the 110$, also rip the guard off if you’re ballsy and bring the line out some more, works 10x better, just wear some long pants and eye protection
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
I have the exact same model. My issue is that after I use it, 5 or 10 minutes later I cannot get it to start back up. Any tips anyone? Mine is brand new. I've only used it 4 times but I have this issue every time.
Good video. As long as you use good fresh gas oil mix no problems. Electric is a rip with batteries iv fixed gas trimmers and cheap ones like homelite are good. You dont need a $200 $300 trimmer like people say. One other tip run out of gas before storing longterm.
Nitro - what would be the point? It starts and runs well. The starting instructions are clearly laid out in the side panel as I have shown in the video. Absolutely no issues. Me starting and revving a weed whacker simply to make noise is of no use.
Sounds like it might be time to pop the head off and have a look and check for obstructions. see my video for how to do that: ruclips.net/video/-DjXknVmxIE/видео.html
My line ended and I foolishly push buttons on side and two round pieces popped out and fell on the ground. Now, I have no idea what is the placement order of the parts. Any ideas?
wow they don't have adjustment screws for throttle . I thought all trimmers had them 2 screws that are seated low that you need a special tool to adjust . I wonder if you can even get a carb. repair kit for the homelite
I just bought this trimmer and line is only exiting one hole. How do you take apart to figure out what's wrong? Any precautions while taking apart--line flying springs or something?
Nicely done, it should work great for you. Mine has worked well for a few years now, I'm probably due for an air filter... but other than that its ran faultless
I just wrapped the last homelite weedeater I will ever own around a tree in my front yard! Never again. Big piece of shit and it's our fault. We let the EPA strangle these engines over emissions.
I have two of these and they've worked flawlessly for years now, and I've specifically abused them and run them on not the greatest quality if gas and mixing oil. You forgot to tell us what sort of issues you had exactly,
@@NowellHolmes hard initial starting, impossible hot start and bad vibrations. The only way I could get it to run semi reliably was to cut a slot in the mixture screws and enrichen it. I'm at 2000ft which isn't really high.
Only an electric could be easier. This one is very straight forward to start, and operate, and the reloading of string require no disassembly. I run it on old gas just to test it under worst conditions. Still going after years of abuse and left with old fuel sitting in it over winter. Nothing about it has been remotely difficult for me. Perhaps you'd care to share what you consider difficult.
I don't know what to tell you... I've used mostly poor quality mixing oil, and typically bit fresh gasoline... My sim has been to not treat it nicely ... And I've had nothing but good results from this machine. I used it for typically 2 hrs at a time as we have a larger property... Taller grass as well... And through all the abuse and neglect I've thrown at it for years.. it always starts up with ease.. for the price... It has performed extremely well... I expected to maybe get a season out if it ... But as you can see from the date of video posting... It's been going for a while. :) Thanks for watching.

I bought this for 100 bucks from Home Depot, great for the price, started right up no problem and is reliable
I bought one today for $179
Looks like inflation is high
@@vaqueranov1 yeah it’s a damn shame. Btw it’s been 2 years since I commented this and I still use it all the time.
i saw a homelite straight shaft 26 cc for 118... i owned two of them many years ago... were very dependable
Thank you so much ! I finally found a model like mine and you just made my life easier ,thanks again !
Just bought the straight shaft one and it works great for me since my yard is small. Can’t complain for the price
Straight forward just like I wanted
It okay to be cheap. When you’re cheap with certain stuff it allows you to be able to buy a huge yard like the one you have!
Did you know that is a similar replica of a classic RYOBI trimmer?
I'ma purchase a straight shaft next year
Any trimmer with the pull start on the front of the engine I stay away from they’re half crankshaft engines.
How do I get more string out while in use or when string gets shorter.
With it running under full throttle, tap the cutting head on the ground. It self loads.
I have the exact same model. My issue is that after I use it, 5 or 10 minutes later I cannot get it to start back up. Any tips anyone? Mine is brand new. I've only used it 4 times but I have this issue every time.
Let it idle for a few minutes before your shut it off

not clear at all. When you make video, please make better video with 2 hands.
no, it was clear enough. We're not conducting scientific experiments here, we're simply showing the operation of a weed whacker.

Where would I find a diaphragm for $1? I see amazon kits for $7 but none low enough to not buy the whole carb for.
My name is Todd I just bought a new homelite gas powered weedwhacker today
Anyone know what brush cutter blade will fit this?
I love homelite products
Thank you, you just answered my question on string replacement. Do a video on the actual replacement and you'll get a ton of views. Thanks again.

yes you can
I tried to edge with this thing and it just bogged out and started smoking when I turned it to the side
weird, I have no issues with my machine at most "normal" angles, I haven't run into that issue before
