- Today I take one of the treasures I found at the junkyard and install it on my 2007 FA5. I wrapped my steering wheel last spring and after a few months the wrap became a complete disaster. It started peeling worse than the steering wheel it was covering and I hated it. So I decided to remove the wheel and replace it with the one I found at the junkyard a while back. I hope this helps you out with this job. If you have any experiences and advice with steering wheel wraps please comment below.

Very helpful video thank you
Same issue, soudal t rex glue works great for gluing interior or exterior parts, its super strong. Thnx for the video im going to spray paint mine with resin black matte car paint to strengthen it. cheers
Really appreciate this video Brother. You have 20x more patience and time for this then me
I also bought a alcantara wrap. Spent about 1hour trying to line it up with the controls and spokes, did not lineup or fit properly. Now going on 2 months with the return process
Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear you also had a bad experience as well. It seems that not all these wraps are equal and the quality is certainly lacking. It frustrates me to spend all the time and effort only for it to disintegrate shortly thereafter and have to do it again.
@@cruz_control3925 I just sent me wheel out to a guy in LA. Sweidit is the name. He's been doing type R and 9th gen wheels for years now. Look him up. Amazing work. And under $400
@@NicholasPGH I will check him out, thanks!
Hi, I put the steering rack back on but i didnt index it to the steering wheel, its off by 90 degrees, can I pull my steering wheel off and then re-index it?
I know this video is from 3 years ago but, can you tell me where to find that leather wrap?
I purchased the wrap on Amazon.
I found a perfect steering wheel for $15 at the junkyard
For f sake, I just ordered one of these covers, haven't received it
Lmk how it works out for you. It's not terribly difficult to install, just tedious. If you decide to go through with the wrap I suggest you remove the steering wheel. Based on my experience it makes the process much easier.
I just done mine, it’s not hard to do but quality wise I hope lasts abit longer, the one I put on is a universal one which Dosent fit all the way around the controls but still better than the old steering wheel.
What if the bolts are scaped and I cant remove the bolt?
If you can't remove any of bolts because the bolt head is rounded off I suggest trying a bolt extractor kit. Goodluck!
Where you find that at?
@@stevealvarez3513 check Harbor Freight, Amazon, or your local part stores (Autzone, etc). 👍
