Kerry Anne n Matt the fact is that as good mechanics and over all ship write you're as famous for the disposition honesty and guality control. I try n do as much as I can with my sons. Truth be told your not going to have all the skill sets that a pro has. I've been lucky my first bigger boat was a sport craft I/O I used an older gentleman. After I bought my next boat that I put the Yamaha on he said I refer my out boards out at first I was reluctant but it ended up being his son. Been with him ever since. He reminds me of your crew, if I want to attempt something he'll give advice he's more a friend.

Oh boy matt you got lucky but it's also a moment that you think to yourself why did I do that lol and the worst mistake I made was when I worked on trash trucks I just got done rebuilding a valve body and was testing the functions to check for leaks and I was too impatient to have someone give me a hand and I had my head in the compactor checking line and the wall wasn't moving as soon as I pulled my head out the wall shot forward because it was stuck in the track and the pressure was building in the cylinders because the valve was stuck on extend so I was extremely fortunate that i moved because if I didn't that wall would have killed me

all on a count of a faulty switch / wire / cable connection. In fact a number of
times a ground cable double ought, burnt off just hanging lose and the cat would still
start. worst yet, a fly by night mechanic playing mechanic leaving off a
ground a cable, some times there are two or three to bolt on, and of course you
have the wrench you use on starters in hand,
a hefty wrench down in the works reestablish the correct
Polarity, kiss that wrench good by "-) enjoy the Light show.........
