Got a good question for you guys .... we have a schedule with what boats we are going to and the clients are notified! Then we get an emergency call .... should the emergency be a priority? As Matt said we had a client not happy with us cause he didn't install his fridge on this day! (We always classify emergencies as sinking, fire, electrical hazard etc these need our attention immediately) What do you think?
Emergencies should always take priority. Furthermore, I think it should be stated as part of the overall terms and conditions on any signed client work order or any contract for service kept on file to cover call-out liability, to make sure all details are understood and agreed upon. Sadly, many people are too entitled and potentially litigious these days, so everything has to be stated in writing and signed off by the client to protect yourself and your business.
Love the channel… my Dad owned a Marina ans boat yard in Gloucester Virginia when I was growing up at age 14 and beyond… boats have certainly become more technologically advanced and more difficult… thanks for all you do!
The red Jaguar belongs to my good friend Scott aboard the 42ft Bertrum "Bight Me", seafoam green hull. You can see his Bertrum in the background. Stop in tell him hi. He is a great guy from Louisiana too.
I had asked before but forgot where I wrote it down, getting old!!! What kind of pocket knife is that faithful thing you always carry? Thanks again! Also yes would love to see some larger vessels!!
Matt just told me that he got started with this knife about 6 years ago he worked on a boat and the owner gave him a brand new one as a tip! Matt has since bought some for family members!
Thanks for asking Dean it’s still north believe it …. It’s supposed to be getting finished in the coming month or two it will be back here prolly around Early summer. Owner really needs to test it a lot before bringing it back!
Good work as always sir. I really enjoy your videos to try an educate myself and have learned alot. Now, legit emergencies are the priority especially in your line of work. Refrigerators and their ego can wait another day.
crazy that the manufacture would add plugs like that. I mean they seem like a great idea but not being water proof on a bilge. jeeze. I literally just had a similar issue with my float switch and bilge coming disconnected from corrosion and not having a service loop they stacked and zip tied the extra wire and cause a kink and that's exactly where it broke. love the videos guys maybe next time i am in the keys i will get to meet you all! :)
I have never seen a QD on a bilge pump. What are some of these manufacturers thinking? Between bad access, and poor design, it’s amazing some of them are still in business. (Yes. Sinking boats should always be a priority.)
I love watching your videos. I always learn something. The mechanic we use here on Cape Cod will come to the boat and fix issues if able to do so with the boat in the water. Otherwise we get hauled. I don’t get upset with schedule issues. I realize sometimes another job may take longer than anticipated. I would love to see any sportfisherman on the docks.
Love this Jim if only customers would be more understanding that sometimes jobs take longer and emergencies happen! We give emergencies priority… IF you had an ER you’d want us to give you that courtesy. Makes sense to you and I 😊
@@WillFixThat sadly today people aren’t so understanding. I appreciate that my mechanic will do his best to help me out. As I said I realize that sometimes another job might take priority or take longer. I have had the same yard and mechanics for many years. We are friends.
Oh boy that's alot stuff packed in the haul of that center console boat if there was an a actual leak that's not good and I have never been a big fan of owning a big yacht lol
😊fyi previous message….. I think just a few adjustments to the videos and it will market to the masses……. My previous mistakes was boat projects that 5% cared about. Not saying your awesome videos are bad. Just saying 95% want to live the dream.. please don’t take that the wrong way. Love ya
@@WillFixThat awesome question..... each person has to ask that of themselves. For myself it's converting my vessel to find the lost spanish galleon s. 2 have not been found. This is me not joking. But letting your followers to find themselves
@@WillFixThat in addition. Your an expert. I'm in St Augustine and I do 90% of the maintenance. If I'm ever down there in your area searching I'll look you up.
Emergencies first, then take care of the other stuff. Matt, don't ever buy an old jag like the one in your vid, unless you like working on your car more than driving.
LOL let me tell you a story … Matt used to work on helicopters years ago and the maintenance was 40 man hours to 1 flight hour (imagine that 🤣) we don’t need another project!
There's nothing wrong with talking to yourself every time somebody asks me if I'm talking to myself I always respond with of course I'm talking to myself because sometimes I'm in need of a professional opinion
No desire for me …. Matt will sometimes… We don’t even go on them for fun! Hear me out this has happened a few times! Boats are always broke right? We go out for fun boat breaks and they look at Matt to start working to fix the problem! When we are out for fun I remind Matt that we aren’t talking or looking at customers boats! We will save that for our next work day 🤣
And concerning the boat, you lost a $50 on and walked away from. It's kind of scary that people are supposed to have money. But yet they wanna fight with you over something. That was not in your control. I'd still bill him for the hours and make them pay out. The video shows you did to work.
Separate question…. I wonder what would bring your channel to get to 200k subscribers……which I believe it can achieve. Easily. My channel I stopped 4 years ago. I never edited but story telling. Sell the dream. I have another channel. But. Short selling the dream.

ask the mad client if he'd like you to show up quickly when he thinks his boat is sinking, ect. usually stops the argument

you cant ever make everyone happy!!! all you can do as you are keep going
Thanks for the encouragement 👍
Yes, we would like to see more of the big boats in your videos, thank you.
You got it! What do you consider big boats?
Mate you earn every dollar.... customers can be so demanding and your very clever
Matt’s a pretty smart guy and works hard for his clients.
You two are so genuine and honest!
Hey thanks Leland … need to be able to look in the mirror 👍
You guys are doing good work. Nice to see mechanics with integrity. Good content. Keep it coming, thanks!
Appreciate the feedback…. Integrity and reputation #1 we live on a small island bad news spreads fast!

Great episode! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍
Thanks for the visit 👍

Nice Nordhavn in the background.
Yes a beauty!
Love your videos.... weather it be the boats or around town... always nice

Yup I’ve seen the boat on the dock … that’s a nice red car! Think he’s on b or c dock!
Saw your truck at the shop yesterday hope all is well with that green machine.
That green machine has been there since Oct we are moving it any day now 🥴😭

Old age 🤣 or just multi tasking …. Kershaw on Amazon. We ONLY have 3-4 around our house.

Agree 👍 appreciate the feedback. We just share the stories cause this is the chaos we try to manage everyday!
I guess every job you take you need a disclaimer that the date and time is subject to emergencies elsewhere . Another great video thanks
It would seem common sense …

Definitely look us up when you’re down here again! Yeah those plugs were a joke in the bilge area.
I have never seen a QD on a bilge pump. What are some of these manufacturers thinking? Between bad access, and poor design, it’s amazing some of them are still in business. (Yes. Sinking boats should always be a priority.)
Matt couldn’t believe how poor that bilge design was and it’s a 2022 boat! Sadly owners have no idea! We got them fixed up!
Big boats are cool too.
Anything else that we can show that would be cool?

Thank God for people who dont know their "A" from hole in ground. The money light for you guys. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks Mark …. People just don’t educate themselves enough when it comes to owning a boat.
Legit emergencies always come 1st.
Yes that’s what we say too …
Talking to yourself isn’t crazy, until you start answering yourself
Of course he answers himself 🤣🤣
Like what you are doing now😀
What makes you ask that?
When you talk to yourself, at least you know you're talking to someone with intellegence.
Of course great point! 🤣
Yes I want to see big boats.
Everything from 50ft up plz
Awesome which this episode we had some big ones.
Oh boy that's alot stuff packed in the haul of that center console boat if there was an a actual leak that's not good and I have never been a big fan of owning a big yacht lol
