Beyoncé doesn’t get enough credit for her vocal prowess. She’s an excellent vocalist. Her technique, tone, and interpretative powers are on par with many of the GOATs.

    • @JerryRSun
      @JerryRSun 2 года назад +53

Beyonce is not just on par. Her technique is better. Her pitch is more accurate & steady, and her runs are faster, more defined, and more musical than ALL the others. She also has more consistent vibrato in her entire range than a lot of the other ones, and she varries the speed of her vibrato for musical effect as well. Her technique is deeper than most of the other singers.

Well it's strange that she should be critical. She is not even a great singer. She is standard like any other singers.
There are singers that I would expect that from, like Whitney Houston , Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton etc.
I am not a fan of Beyonce singing(vocals) But I would confidently say she sang this song better than Babra.
And I must say legendary Gladys Knight sang this song like No One. It should have been her original song. I haven't heard any one singing it better than Gladys, followed by the original Supremes Mary Wilson.

Who in the world knows Barbrah except for European whites and America?
I will say it Again to you, No female artist will ever sing like Whitney Houston and yes she is black.
There are many GREAT BLACK ARTISTS that are waaaaaay better than barbra , not just by singing, but by producing classic great songs.
Stop this nonsense of using black artists to promote luke-warm white artists and give them super than reality titles. You did that even with Elvis Presley even when Michael Jackson rose up from black community to be the best ever King in the world.

Agreed. She could really benefit from some of the song writers and producers of that era. Gladys Knight realized that back in the day and went full Streisand and it paid off. Those classics are sung today by adults, and by youth paying homage to adults. They could even be sang by Gladys, still, and Gladys would not appear odd or dated. Beyonce really should put herself on that path so she can be so honored in 30 or 40 years and also have a performing discography for golden years.

I gotta tell y'all..as a guy born in '68, it goes without saying, Ive seen all of Barbra's greatest moments, be them on film or 'on wax'. And its footage like this, at the Kennedy Center Opera House, in Wash, DC..where I was born, that reminds me of a youth where I ALWAY heard Streisand's voice, right there among people like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Aretha, Sarah Vaughn, Ella, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan/Rufus, any and all Motown stuff, etc..I could go on and on. But her talent was that far-reaching..that the black community LOVED her, just as much as we loved James Brown or Prince. Beyonce' did an incredible job, here...didnt oversing it..just kept it nice and simple and pretty.

Beyoncé did incredible and you can tell Barbara approved. Beyoncé kills every tribute like her Stevie wonder tribute, Tina Turner tribute, her Etta James tribute and her Michael Jackson tribute. All the legends that came before her always speak highly of her. Beyoncé is definitely THE GREATEST LIVING ENTERTAINER/VOCALIST!!!!

I Love Bey but I was very displeased with her Stevie Wonder tribute she tried too hard to be Soul full during that performance now when she did The Black National Anthem at Coachella that shit was *PERFECT* like this Barbara Streisand tribute here where shes not Over singing but showing that she could be soft, subtle yet emotionally commanding all at once. I could say the same for when she sang Anita Baker's Sweet Love during her I Am Tour she killed that but with Stevie Wonder she mostly made a bunch of loud ass noise

Ok this made me tear up almost as much as Streisand's version, so she did a great job!

Beyonce is certainly a legend in her own right and for her to be so courteous and dignified not only in her performance but in her comment of praise to Streisand ... she was like a little girl in the way she said it was an honor to sing for her..I can tell that she has respected Streisand's work that makes me I want to listen to more Beyonce

While Barbra Streisand's stands alone and is a gem I actually prefer Beyonce's tone, pitch & vibrato to hers. Without the one we wouldn't have the other. Without the other we wouldn't have this. Stellar rendition and classy closing words: It's an honor to sing for you Ms. Streisand.

I didn't know that beyonce tone. bravo madam very nice vibrato. I like her soft voice, when she sings high sweet; I prefer her soft voice mixed with her full voice .. I find her full voice when she sings loud quite flat .. I did not know this facet of her voice. magnificent

Both of their pitch are correct, if anything Barbra is more perfect centred. Pitch is subjective. But tone and vibrato is your preference

It sounded as if Beyoncé herself had written and sang it the first time, like her own song, not a tribute. Amazing !

Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the movie, when Barbra brushes Robert Redford’s hair away and says, “Your girl is lovely, Hubbell”

Wow, Beyonce's cover of that song was breath taking! So much texture and strength in her voice. You could feel the pain expressed when hitting the high notes. Barbara was nodding her head and saying YES that is how it's done. One super star listening to another one.

Standing stoically in place. Beautiful in every respect. Honoring the song and the singer as really very few could. Regal beyond words. Barbara knows this lady delivered on what was her epic song.

To even attempt to sing this song made me nervous but after 30 seconds I knew she had the heart and talent to let Streisand receive some reflection to what she has given to all of us through Beyoncé . Of course some of the ascending volume in Beyoncé’s notes that really shove the knife in our heart a heartache we feel we are long over don’t come back in the same way that Streisand version dies but there are plenty of daggers in Beyoncé’s tribute to Bar ra singing this unforgettable song . Beyoncé did a fantastic job , better than 99 percent of any singer could and it makes me see her in a more full light because of her obvious reverence giving her “ it’s an honor to sing fir you Miss Streisand “ that touched me to see a very top artist in awe of the very best . The way we were belongs only to Streisand much in the way over the rainbow belongs to Garland or the man that got away . Every 50 years am extraordinary talent comes along . Garland d knew this seeing her perform at the Coconut Grove on a Saturday insisting Barbra do her show the following week ( on her show in 1963 ) Garkand was relieved “ Thank God there’s another one of me as far as talent “ garland told Streisand to not let the exploiters work her to death and to do a concert once every ten years - and make sure they pay you ! “ Streisand first appearance on a variety hour with a Great star at age of 21 just before broadway version of Funny Girl was about to open . What a kick off . Streisand never appeared on someone else’s tv show as a guest star - she had been on the best . When she was on TV again other than singing one song on the Sullivan show was in her own one hour specials ( 3 of them ) later in 63-64 season in the same category as garlands show winning the Emmy . Garland was the first to applaud watching Streisand in funny girl Garland joked “ they always put the non beauties in a farm stall or on a tug boat , can you imagine Ava Gardiner on either ? Lol one has to be an enormous talent to sing anywhere in a film and seal their destiny . Thank you Beyoncé for mailing this tribute for its similar to having garland watching Streisand at the Coconut Grove for Beyoncé in her regular music genre had not sung this type of song . Now we know she can do it all . Welcome to the club of the great Beyoncé .
