How nerve wracking that may be to sing in front of a legendary perfectionist-Barbra.
and get her approval. I mean after all she did request for Beyonce to do it.
well, she didnt lol. its lip sync. check out how the song starts before she putsthe mic to her mouth
chimneysweep07 good eye,you could be right, still good singing even if it’s recorded.
@@robertmichalscheck3072 ofcourse i mean shes incredible. but maybe she was sick or something idk
chimneysweep07 I wouldn’t have caught that mic thing if you didn’t mention it.
she perfectioned her musicianship to a level that she can sing everything. She's so versatile. I love this cover, her voice sounds so honest.
Beyoncé is a very critical person herself with her performances... I'm sure she knew the assignment and excuted it BEAUTIFULY.
That’s not good, that is greatness! I’m blown away by Beyoncé’s vocal range.
Bravo!! This is the kind of singing I miss. Beyonce did an exquisite job honoring Barbra and not trying to make it something it isn't, which too many young singers try to do. Just sing the melody and that will be enough.
prof32 well yes and no
Music his like language and anything art it’s meant to evolve WITH us , otherwise we would all still be living in the Middle Ages
This tribute was great and classic tho
I'm not a Beyonce fan but she ate this up and I love it
It is called phrasing. Diana Ross was a genius at it. A less powerful singer can still create magic.
@@brentchavis9016 Beyonce is A star vocalist lol
This reminds me just how incredibly gifted Beyonce is with her voice.
Beyonce did an amazing job of singing one of Streisand's signature song. Her voice was just gorgeous and her outfit. a stunning tribute to Streisand's characters.
How are you doing today my name is Bryan cooker
Beyonce pulled this off beautifully. From the hair to the earrings to the singing. Classic. No one can do it better .
Beyonce does this song justice. Beautifully done.
This is not an easy song to sing! It requires a long range and grace to perform continuity with those notes. Beyoncé did it all, adding her beautiful present and carisma! It was perfect!
Beyonce's tribute to Streisand with her rendition of the immortal classic, "Memories" was just amazingly out of this world! And don't ANYONE dare to suggest Beyonce can't sing! THIS performance shows otherwise!
Because it wasn't better than the original diva.
The song is"the way we were" not memories. "Memory" is the song from Cats which Streisand also recorded btw
Hmmm I am listening to this on repeat. This is probably one of my favorite Beyoncé performances. Just simply sublime. Her versatility and artistry are incredible!
This was flawless. I love this more softer side of Beyoncé.
Nope
Beyoncé Passed the exam with excellent notes to a very demanding teacher. My respect.
This woman is incredible. And she’s still completely relevant today, in 2024. 👑
Beautiful, clean, clear and simply beautiful
yeah lip syncing sounds like that. 0.01 is where the receipts are
Puia Marey Kennedy center doesn’t allow lip syncing. But you tried it
@@DDJONESTV so what appends at 0:01 ? does the sound magically goes to mic with the touch of her hand? u can ignore the facts but dont expect the rest of the world to believe u!
@@puiamarey638 it was an edit mistake, kennedy doesn't allow lipping and that song is too hard tp lip very slow. It's very obvious tho that Beyonce singing live. And who the fuck will lip infront of Barbara? Nobody
@@factpreacher5691 Bee that is who.
Absolutely Beyoncé is in my top 5 favs of vocalists of all time. People don’t give her credit but she is what Whitney was to the 80s and what Mariah finished in the 90s. This is a living legend. Her music is insightful and makes you think with emotion. Love u Bey
The most impressive singing I’ve ever seen
I didn’t know her voice sounded like this? 💁🏻
Absolutely beautiful voice.
leandro silva she was 24 in that performance and Beyoncé is 39, not 40.
@@taytayk.3571 38 lol. She'll be 39 in two months
It's a lipsync..... look at 0:01
mrbear1302 no it’s not you can’t lip sync at the Kennedy honors
@@Rsilva-nv4vp She's 39....
Great job Beyoncé! Loved seeing Barbra’s nods of approval throughout the performance!
Not sure why it’s so hard for people to give a positive comment without all the (I’m not a fan or she’s no Barbra.... It was a tribute not a competition 🙄🙄🙄
I agree
Haters can't help themselves. Backhanded compliment is bs.
So right
Exactly! It’s so insulting. Beyoncé did a wonderful job and she’s a wonderful performer in her own right.
Exactly...
SMH.
Beyonce’s voice is truly remarkable she is an amazing vocalist and her rendition of this song is simple breathtaking
I love that Ms Streisand is literally singing and breathing every note of the song. From around the 2:15 mark, you can actually see her head move with the rise and fall of notes.
Beyonce has put her own spin on the song too. Its stunning
I love how you can see that she was _waiting_ for that part to see how Beyoncé would handle it, and then you can see that she not only approved but was pleased.
apparently she had seen her do it before this performance and didn't like it as much. she said "I didn't think it was good enough _for her"_ she thought she could do better. clearly she did.
That was a classy performance and acknowledgement of a legend from a young one still in her prime. Loved the Fanny Bryce gown and hair. Beyonce's voice is much more pure than many think. Great job!
She’s so criminally underrated as a vocalist by the general public…
I love the homage she payed with the hairdo and the dress and earrings!! Very much my man from funny girl!! Beautiful cover Queen B
Idc what anyone says Beyoncé is definitely a vocalist!!! Yes indeed!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
There's no like Beyonce alive she's unic she's fabulous she sounds like an angel
This is just so beautiful and what makes it more amazing is that Beyonce did adjust her singing style to honor Ms. Barbara. Bravo!
Edit: Who ever said Beyonce can't sing deserves some hearing aid!
Lol 😆trick daddy need a pair 4 sure.
Barbara smiling and her husband, James Brolin, grinning from ear to ear was a such a big approval! My first time listening to this rendition. Beyonce slayed that song! Bravo!!
Barbra Streisand's nod says it all.
Imagine a vocal legend like Mrs. Streisand appreciating your singing and interpretation. I think Beyoncé was so glad.
Beyonce I love the way you pay honor to those who came before you, showing that you are multi influenced and grateful to musical foundations on which you stand and now creating.
How are you doing today my name is Bryan cooker
I can see this young lady doing an amazing job acting in a modern remake of the film. Stunning.
It’s great to hear Beyoncé sing a song straight as written with all those vocal gymnastics. Brilliant
Always a pleasure to discover a performance of hers that I haven’t yet seen☺️ Honoring the legend that is Barbra Streisand was cementing Beyoncé’s own legendary status. Beautiful to hear her voice at its most pure state✨
Whenever I'm struggling at the gym, I use Barb's nod at 2:15 to get myself to the finish line
...AND THEN. you get 'the' Nod from Streisand. Put THAT on your resume. PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER: "... Destiny's Child, sang lead, a couple movies, a few Grammys. Impressive. And I notice that you've received a nod from Ms. Streisand. When can you start?"
Michael Dean Lol, that was awesome
Brilliant analogy!
this is so true she can be very critical of those so covers her songs. But hey that's our Barbra!
AND morgan "the voice of god" freeman was digging it too!!
Well said yet its hilarious 🤣🤣🤣😭😭
Hauntingly beautiful! Facial expressions are exceptional - she feels each note.
LOL
chills every single time. eyes might even water.
I like that Beyoncé showed respect to her Elder and said “it is an honor to sing for you, MS. STREISAND.” Shows good home training.
Your comment hides poison.
Indeed lol
Yes!!! Indeed!
How are you doing today my name is Bryan cooker
Every note Bey puts infront of a word that makes the song is Amazing......she has Sheer Style....Class....Hip Hop.....Jazzy......Gospel whatever she takes it to a 100% level! I'm sure she was honored to be a part of this event!
How are you doing today my name is Bryan cooker
This music makes you sound and look like a Star. And her hair, make up, dress, earrings, voice, everything is perfect! Lord, where is the music like that?
People be sleeping on Beyonce vocals...she is a real Singer..
You are so right! She did a fantastic job!
I have been around to long. Jz Beyonce aren't that fantastic & they're fake. BUT!!! If they with they're status can save our children in foster care and prison system I'm with them. To many nights I called these Prisons & I don't know what to do. I been in system since '72 my husband spent 25 yrs & my daughter in system now. These people don't care. My number is 610+355-6883 please tell me how I can help
Yup
Because she oversings most of her own songs and the covers she does🤷🏾♀️
But Beyoncé sleeps on herself as well when she put the sexy vixen and sex symbol before her talent‼️😏
Alot of artist don't have the option to over sing any song..cause they can barely sing.. Beyonce has a lot of talents to her credit thats what make her a great entertainer....
Beyonce is certainly a legend in her own right and for her to be so courteous and dignified not only in her performance but in her comment of praise to Streisand ... she was like a little girl in the way she said it was an honor to sing for her..I can tell that she has respected Streisand's work that makes me I want to listen to more Beyonce
This will never fkn get old. Something popped up yesterday, Barbra saying Bey murked that shit (that was masterful. The beginning and the end…❓⁉️OMG). Imagine that NOW👊🏿👊🏿♥️♥️♥️♥️
If this isn’t pre-recorded, it’s one of the most flawless live performances I’ve ever seen. It literally has me scratching my head. Beautiful
It wasn’t pre-recorded. There’s a story behind it.
Just great to hear Beyonce sing in classic way!
Her vocal ability is amazing
SHE CAN SING
Ok this made me tear up almost as much as Streisand's version, so she did a great job!
I like this softer Beyonce
So do I.
I like the ratchet Beyonce..lol partition me please..lol
Carlos Green Lmaoooooooooo
Ratchet Bey for the win!!!!
Me Too
Surprisingly I do too😅 Usually she oversings most of her own songs and the covers she does🤷🏾♀️
But Beyoncé sleeps on herself as well when she put the sexy vixen and sex symbol before her talent‼️😏
Well, this is singing. To not diminish the best performance of this song from the one and only Barbra Streisand, Beyoncé's performance make it even better, which is almost impossible.
I thought the same who else could sing it so effortlessly but with so much power like bey
Well that is your opinion. But i prefer Barbra’s way
Not really. First of all - why do we hear her voice while her mic is not close to her mouth? Also: Streisand tells a story, Beyonce just sings.
@@patricedecourcy4505 "Streisand tells a story, Beyonce just sings".... blah blah blah.... you can say that to justify any singer you like. Anyone with a modicum of live sound experience can tell that Beyonce is singing it live. Both Streisand and her vocal coach will agree that it takes a top class singer to deliver that song the way Beyonce did and that's no fluke. In any case, I would say that Cynthia Enrivo creams everyone live.
I disagree, she can’t bring the inner pain across as well as Barbra. Here with Marvin Hamlisch: ruclips.net/video/tx34gAjK4-g/видео.htmlsi=lpA7JtMOHb0wECJy
Wow, Beyonce's cover of that song was breath taking! So much texture and strength in her voice. You could feel the pain expressed when hitting the high notes. Barbara was nodding her head and saying YES that is how it's done. One super star listening to another one.
I had to sing this song (solo) in Ms. Higgins 6th grade class graduation. What a fantastic combination of words and music. I'll never forget that moment.
Standing stoically in place. Beautiful in every respect. Honoring the song and the singer as really very few could. Regal beyond words. Barbara knows this lady delivered on what was her epic song.
I gained a new appreciation for Beyoncé. This was beautiful as was she.
She sang beautifully!!
Beyoncé notes and breath control moved Barbara head🥰
I went to a performing arts high school back in the late 80s. I auditioned for the music theater program in my 11th grade year with this song. None of my classmates had ever heard me sing before... My best friend played the piano while I sang, At the end of the song everyone was standing up cheering... One of my best memories...
You should've continued..
When I have a bad day, I always listen to this. Perfect.
Beyoncé is mega world class star and I STILL think she is underrated. How is that possible?,.,
Very smooth, soft, soul full, powerful & emotionally commanding at the same damn time!
