@@Termiteboss their song choices have been bad the last few months. I totally agree. Too much R & B, that wasn't real big in the 70's and 80's, at least not in the US. I'd even like to hear a 60's tune like "You didn't have to be so Nice", by the Lovin Spoonful, great layering and overdubbing..etc
One of my favorite songs of the 1970s, brilliantly covered by Singit Live! Once again, I have to state how good it is to see and listen to Mel McCaig, her performance was absolutely perfect! Congrats to all the talented musicians for this great job! And, of course, kudos to Darren @producernerd Mullan for another extraordinaire production! Have a nice weekend, everyone!
Love it. Love Melissa, one classy person indeed. Everyone spot on as usual, but I must say Mr Crafty is a one-person entertainment package. Thanks all! ❤
Welcome back Mel - takes me straight back to 1975 - simple song that has a big impact on my memory of growing up in the 70's - great job as always singitlive team 🙏👌👏🎤🎶
You done it again…. Come on what can’t you do. The vocals, the harmonies the perfect pitch of the instruments, the drums. You captured the moment and the enthusiasm shines through. Well done to everyone and thank you.👌
Hello band... sensational... Melissa show apart... beautiful voice with a refined technique, very feminine, charming and friendly. Perfect instruments and backing vocals. Excellent presentation
I have to play the lottery one of these days... I just knew Mel was going to perform. And perform she did! I grew up listening to Captain and Tennille... love their music and I love this too. Lately, y'all are doing a lot more of the 70's classics...I'm still hoping to hear Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons "Who Loves You" soon. God bless from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 🙏
Fantastic performance all round of one of my favourite 70s songs. Composer Neil Sedaka is criminally underrated despite having written some of the best loved songs from the 60s and 70s.
How can you not love Mel? Exceptional talent. I was hoping to catch her again at the feast last Sunday with Mark Anthony but alas not this year. Caught up with Mario again though 👍 Great work gang.
Absolutely loved this. So close to the original. Written by Neil Sedaka. Fun fact, on the original C&T version, near the end, you can hear them singing "Sedaka is back!" 😉😉
Sing it Live you’ve done it again and I’m just blown away each week performance after performance!! Youve taken a 70’s classic and swung and knocked it out of the park. Loved the guitar solo creating something special with a new spin on it and making it your own. That was so much fun that while listening to it I became the captain on my own Yacht rock and sailed away right to 1975 all over again!!!
Sing it Live is so much like Countdown….you sit back during the week and hope your favourite song/s will get played on the weekend 😀. Awesome work everyone…..thanks
The Captain & Tenille were my first live concert as a teenager. This song was being played everywhere. In the last couple of days I played it several times and listened to a couple of interviews with Toni. One of the very best songs of my youth. C&T would be impressed with how well you have performed it! Great, great production!
Saw Captain & Tennille with my parents in the late '70s. Also saw Neil Sedaka around 1978. Thus, I've heard both the original composer's (Sedaka) version and the most famous version of it (C&T) played live!
It's wonderful to hear something from my junior high times. Starting to miss your singing Mel. I actually have been watching some of your older performances. 😊
Jimmy from Chicago….I’m a new follower from the states….thank you so much !!! ….68 yrs. Old….Captain and Tennille….great memories….you guys smoke!!!😊😊😊❤
I'm sure Daryl Dragon is smiling. Fantastic cover with a 4-piece and lead vocalist (Melissa, that was AWESOME!). Nice to see you again Crafty and Darren - oh, and between you Mario and Crafty you guys make the best female backup singers I could ever hope for (🤣). Just gotta get your guys some yacht hats and you're on your way to Yatch Rock classic song stardom! 🙂
Smashed it again guys, great song written by Neil Sedaka takes me back to 75 when i was doing my paper round with a cassette player in my bag playing captain and tennile version.
Mel, Mel, Mel. Who doesn't love a good Mel track? One of those (to me at least) songs that you sing along to without ever knowing who it's by or when it came out. Definitely has that 70's vibe to it though. Great interview with Crafty and Mel in the behind the scenes video. Is Mario going through a mid-life crisis? Shaving his goatee off has taken 10 years off him. Lucky Mrs Marino! Classic Darren mixing with the whole gang performing to the highest standard. Kudos from Matty x
You hadn't started the song yet and l was already singing it. When it started it sounded right the way I had previously imagined it but then l could feel it, la la la la. Also l want you all to know in a few days I'll be paying for my first month to learn how to play piano, soprano sax and drums as well as learning how to sing. I'll do my best for a year with no break. Loving music and listening to guys like you resulted in this:) Thanks and blessings
Oh man - Sedaka is back and better yet, so is Mel with her knockout voice and great presence, along with the rest of the "A team" knocking out another perfect cover! Having just watched Crafty's "Behind the Sound" video about this song, it's so interesting to learn about your backgrounds and how you never know who you'll be performing with when it seems like you've been working together forever. The positive spirit and energy really comes through! Thank you all for sharing your talents with us!
Was wondering the other day why we hadn't seen Mel for a while and here she is, looking and sounding as good as ever. Like Andy, always performs with an air of class and makes things seem simple and this is no exception. Great choice of song and musicians as usual by Darren, so well done to all, only thing with Crafty being involved is I now have to go and check out his channel for "Behind the Scene" content though
I love this song!!! It was my first performance on stage over 20 years ago. But sing it live you guys are hot and Darren is a great producer 😊 big hugs from Germany ❤to you all guys
This really brings a smile to my face. Was 13 when this came out and it was one of my favorite songs (my Mom's as well God rest her soul). Thank you for a great C&T cover.
Smashing performance. Great choice of song where Melissa excels. Superb arrangement of a classic I listened as teenager. A notch above said classic. SIL never disappoints
I waited a day to view this because of prior trauma with C&T- kidding aside. Wow, what a lovely arrangement and how fresh you made this great song to us viewers. Bravo and thank you!
A excellent recreation of a Captain and Tennille classic! Melissa's voice was spot on! The band was superb! Keep up the great work and keep the music coming. We love you! ❤
I don't care what others will say, but I reckon Damien played lead bass on this song! You may be in the background Damien, but your bass leads this song! Go Damien!
Imagine, Saturday morning, coffee, cozy at the table and then to hear this and in this way... Unmatchable and the sun shines in my heart. Have a nice weekend Rudi
It doesn't get any better than this, Mel puts out an outstanding performance....as do the back up - boys on their instruments. It's a 10 from me. Love it!
Great song choice, defines the 70's, a #1 pop hit from the US! Sounds excellent, great job by Darren putting everything together. The only thing missing is Daryl Dragon's five keyboards and there wasn't a guitar solo in the original. Oddly enough it was all keyboards and a drummer. Kudos to everyone!!!🎉🎉🎉. Keep the 70s pop coming!! Maybe a 60's tune?
talk about singing an oldie but a goodie song - haven't heard this since I was about 8 but really well done as usual Daz and the rest of the team - really good to see Mel back too!
This was a very nice cover. I wish that you guys would do some songs from The Tubes. They have some really great songs as well from back in the good 'ol days !
That was great, I remember seeing the Captain & Tennille sing that on TV when I was a kid ( ya , I’m old) I enjoyed this version just as much , great song choice , super awesome BG vocals guys & Man ,what a fabulous view the drummer had
Good gosh, you lot take me back to a time during the Rhodesian war when this was a number one hit. I remember listening to this and repeating its embers in my mind as we were embroiled in the war. So long ago and such a pointless war as all wars are, and as the case with many folk, music marks milestones in our lives, and whenever I hear this I am taken back to that time. Excellent rendition Sing It Live, I will be listening to this many times.
WATCH OUT HSCC - SingitLive is BACK with FANGS! Outstanding rendition and who’s ever idea was to do the Captain and Tennille -GENIUS!!! Love it .
HSCC are spot on as musos but their song choices (IMO) are not as en-point as they used to be. SIL is definitely on it.

Somehow Darren, has always been the soul of it. No show off - just music, mixing the best production genuinely.

Melisa’s voice is so beautiful, articulate. Daren’s keys, Crafty, Bass Goose, all of it… Well done crew!

Mel predictably excellent on lead vocals. The real treat is quality of the backing harmonies.

A special performance deserves a great mix. A great mix makes a special performance magical . That’s what happened here! GREAT job everyone! 🙌🏼
Melissa and Crafty are the dynamic duo of this musical video. It should have 10X the number of views.

Better writer
So true. His songs are still played a lot on UK radio. Up there with the very best singer-songwriters. A very fine pianist too.
Yet another great song choice and Melissa nails it! Also, love seeing Crafty do his thing! As always, an A1 performance all round! 👏👏👏
Another classic comes to life! This band simply gets better each week! Hands down!

Melissa is a goddess. It’s freezing tonight in Scotland but this brightened up my evening. It’s a great performance all round.
Brings back childhood memories of a bunch of us singing the chorus on the bus to school...another one hit out of the park by SIL. Bravo.
One of my favourite little boppers from the Cap and Tennille. The sparse arrangement coupled with the monster SG sheds new light on an old favourite.
