I love this frame. I've been looking for a more forgiving alternative to my Radical MPs. This is it. Rare for me to hit 100 16x19 that has an excellent backhand slice. My coach even commented on the quality of my slice and bhand volleys with this frame. Great control, accuracy, comfort, and a sweet bit of pop on flat shots. 10g in the handle and an overgrip shifted the balance perfectly for me.
Thank you for your input and taking time to respond. I'm in middle of almost picking the v9 100. I liked the control of the 98 18x20. More of a flat hitter with OHBH. Played college long ago. But that was a bit too heavy after an hour. My arm started to fall off. I'm upgrading from an old ps95. Getting back into tennis. Was almost ready to pull the trigger on v9 when I saw your ezone v8. Hate you! Now I have to eval that from TW! Don't mind a little pop at this age (and with shoulder stuff). But want a plush muted feel. Don't like the ping and harshness. Always played with gut and multi. Thanks again. BTW you've mentioned in your videos a service if one needs help. I can't find it on your channel or website. Picking a new stick is harder than picking a wife or girlfriend! So far, I've already demo'd 22 racquets of various sizes, stiffness, etc.
Thanks! If you have any questions, I usually ask people to add them here: www.tennisnerd.net/gear/racquets/racquet-advice/39834 so other people can benefit from any replies and advice. But there is a more in-depth consultation possible here: bit.ly/TNconsult I know it is a jungle. The V9 100 is good and plush/muted. An excellent racquet. But always best to demo. I think going a little lighter and easier overall is the way to go these days. The new Ezones seem pretty good, but I would need a bit more time to know if I can recommend them to players. I am a big fan of the Ezone 100 and the new one felt good, so I think that is worth consideration for sure if you are open to playing with a powerful racquet. But for a balanced frame, I would say the Blade 100, Percept 100 or Speed MP are all excellent choices.
Many reviews already in place. One important thing to point out - soft impact combined with stability. After moving from Pure Drive causing me tennis elbow I wanted something softer, but not twisting on off-center shots, especially volleys. Tested arm friendly rackets like Prince Tour 100 and ProKennex Ki Q+5 but frames were too unstable. Blade 100 V9 is exactly what I wanted. Medium power frame enabling me to string lesser tension without fear of shots going long and in addition enough stability to play full range of strokes. Used with MSV Focus Hex 1.18 mains, Yonex Polytour Air in the crosses for more arm comfort at 21Kg.
@@kietlam9943 I dont think the diference is noticable. I would go with V9 for a second one too if it were the same price as I paid for v8 (120€). V9 felt slightly more solid on impact, that is about it.
@@draconiadorian just got my V8 recently since V9 isn't available here till June. Had Head Velocity @52 pounds but now testing Yonex Poly tour @ 50 lbs. Also looking into Toroline Wasabi.

After 4 months of playing with the Blade 100, I have a lot of pain in my shoulder. I'm thinking about changing to the Ezone 100 2025, do you think I'll feel much of a difference?
Great racket, Im coming from the v7 16x19 and my game gets better overall with this one. I find it extremely stable for its weight against big hitters. If I go all in on power though I tend to miss more with this one compared to the 98. My grip size 4 for the 100 is clearly thicker than for the 98 surprisingly, it feels more like a size 5!
Probably should give Wilson Six One Pro Staff 100 V13 a try. I think both these rackets fall under the same control rackets with a tad more forgiveness. But i’m a pro staff fan, could never gel with Blades (nothing wrong with Blades, just personal preference) and on certain days where I’m not feeling the ball with my usual PS97 V13, the Six One PS100 is the way to go for me to enjoy tennis still on those days I think there’s a newer paint job now for Six One Pro Staff 100. Not entirely sure if there’s any difference between them
There’s a reason the blade has been somewhat the gold standard of tennis racquets for players of all levels for so long now. Wilson truly struck gold with this line in the mid 2000s. If you don’t know what racquet to get, go with the Blade and call it a day.
Hey, I have the 98 V8 and I feel that it is so hard to play with. The launch angle is so low, and find myself putting so many balls on the net. Should I put some weight on the head? thanks
@@RokuX51 it was a tie between the Blade and Speed MP. Both felt great. but I ended up going for the Blade based on aesthetics, and random reasons like how the frame felt in my hand (smoother/rounder). I also got love for Wilson. HEAD is cool tho, and the Speed MP is legit. It has a higher SW, and I can notice a little more power.
Hi Jonas, you mentioned the Percept 100D and speed MP and Dunlop CX400, how would you compare them to the Angell React 99 18x19 that you had a look at?
I just watched your review of the Ezone v8 100. You mentioned that it was also a good racquet with no negatives. Between this Blade v9 100 and the Ezone v8 100, which would you pick?
I think I prefer the feel of the V8 racquets, they feel a bit less muted. But they are close and the quality control of the V9 is better, so not an easy choice.
Just wonder these new gen of Wilson sticks fused the buttcap to the carbon frame, how can I lengthen the racket to 28-inch long like the old school ones?
I am pretty sure you know this well, but some rackets don't respond well to the weight in tbe hadle, especially if they have higher stiffness. If it gets too solid, starts shooting the balls like a wall as there is no absorption on impact. Dunlop cx 400 tour might be one of them. You can find your control by reducing handle weight or removing it completely...,. I think I will try 100l customised instead of this one as its a little too soft ito ra..
What about the 274 gram 16x20 (steam) version customized to the usual tweener specs? It is said it's the Steam mold. * We've seen the 100 light with the 16x19 customized and reviewed by Henrik.
I´ve tried both Blade 100 (v8) and 16x20 101L, they are completely different animals because of the head shape, mold and stiffness. 101L customized to the usual tweener specs is considerably more powerful, stiffer (but still comfortable) and with a decent level of control thanks to 16x20 pattern. Blade 100 has better feel, but has a noticeable dead spot in the upper hoop (I think due to more oval head shape), which I personally don't like in racquets.
I am using ezone 100 love it, I want to move to a more control but do not want to lose spin, would suggest speed MB or ezone 98 or blade 100 or …. ? thanks for the nice review
I started out with the ezone 100, tested the radical, pure aero and blade. I’ve settled for the ezone 98 which gives me a perfect blend of control and power.
Why don’t you use this as your tournament go to? Just watched your most recent video on Patreon and you went back to your old Prestige after the Boom but doesn’t this Blade fall sort of right in the middle of those? Might be a happy medium. Give it a shot!
Jonas, Wilson made a v7 Blade 100. I have one. It is not a 100L. Standard specs are 300 grams, ra=62. Tennis Warehouse swing weight @ 327, but who knows!
The 100 is a fine racquet. A little lead at 6 and 9 improves it a bit (I have a couple of v8s). If you want a lot of spin you'll need a lot of vertical headspeed to get it, and the slightly bigger hoop helps.
Don't know about the v9 but the v8 100 works great for my onehander, more stable then the 98. But that's my personal experience with the rackets, I have both.
I like it, although the throat widens early, making it feel more awkward to hold on take back with my left hand than my last racket (an Ezone 100). Or maybe that’s just me.
People who are so against 100sq racquets should try to play with coaching equipment racquets such as Saber (not an advertising). It has 37inch head, so you play for 30min with that racquet and then count how many times do you frame the ball, lets your realise how far off of a sweatspot you actually are and how bigger head helps us play.
