I think the Red/Green bickering is hilarious, particularly since there are thousands and thousands of both of them out there 50+ years old and still going and going and going! What remarkable pieces of machinery they are, eh?
The first engine-driven machine I drove was a 1940 John Deere G. That tractor and a team of horses supported 3 families from the farm where it was used.
I used to live on the outskirts of the small town of Hampshire, IL and the farmer of the field down the hill from my house had a Minneapolis Moline tractor. Our neighbors had an Oliver...both long gone now.
Youll like this Wes. one of my friends bought a IH/Mccormick No.9 mower for a lawn ornament. Most of its there. Must be real old. Has a wooden draw bar and a ring on the end. I'll look it up and see if it was horse drawn or tractor.
You totally made me eat my words on this one haha we have an old m hanging around the farm she's in the barn resting took her to a show last year it was fun
I have recreated this video alot with our regular m and super mta. We were trying to get the farmalls out of the shed to put the camper away for this winter. Had to take the atv next door and get my 60. We had to have flooded them. My 60 onlys needs choked a little. Our regular m was a all fuel or distilate. It spits and sputters when it runs. Dad put a regular manifold on it and idk about the carb but it runs about like your farmall did early in the video. Gets very little fuel. My 60 always starts. Plus the batteries last forever we get blems from interstate batteries on $60 and they last us over 10 years. The farmalls almost need a battery every year. Our smta is 12 volt but is wacky. Our m is 6 volt and we have another sm thats 6 volt and it barely turns over, it needs changed to 12 volt.
them JD 2 bangers make me laugh because JD sweared by the 2 cylinder engine and when the "new generation" Deere's came out they had 4 and 6 cylinder engines, so basically they are hypocrites. Not surprising though because this has been a trend for Mother Deere throughout its history, another example is Deere's failure to make a rotary combine until like 30+ years after all the rest, and on top of that they heavily based their "new rotor" off a familiar red combine. Deere is just like apple they just have excellent marketing and could sell a dog turd as long as it had its logo.
Wes and Tim nothing wrong with the Farmall. I drove one for many hours back in the early 50 on a farm pulling a baler in summer and plowing snow in winter. Fix her up and she will do you proud just as good as the JD
Convert your electric to 12v on you beautiful RED tractor.... Tell the loud mouth I've pulled more than one of those green moldy tractors to start them !!!
we should trade some 2 cylinders for some farmalls......idk y I gave the jd,s a chance they wont run for shit for me! lol seriously my dad has 11 of them the only one that I like is the 720 diesel wheatland and the ponymortor still don't run on it!!! my h,s m, and super m all run fine tho I wish my dad would have bought like a 4010 or something that would be a ok deere I guess but I still know red is alittle better
on our farm we had two M and John deere G M's were great for long road hauls the G was great for long fields hauls . most M's in are area engine were upgraded with high altitude piston sleeves and heads which increase horsepower to about 60-62
What do you guys say, "If you're on a Deere you must be queer"? I get so sick and tired of brand bashing from all sides, it's really immature. Every brand of tractor made some good ones and they all made some bad ones. There are also tractors that get neglected by someone and then the next owner swears he'll never own that brand ever again because it was a piece of junk. In reality, it was the previous owners fault for the tractor not performing like it should, not the manufacturer. People get so opinionated without actually having enough data or experience to write off a brand all together. I've met so many diehard fans of (insert brand here) and they displayed such ignorance regarding their reason for brand loyalty that it was almost enough to make me want to swear off the brand they liked all because I would never want to be associated with the likes of that person. You know the type I'm refering to. I'll give you a hint, "Drove my --- to the levee but the levee was dry". Damn, those are the type of fans that you can smack them in the face with statistics to prove them wrong but they'll argue you to the death why their beloved brand is king of the trailer court. John Deere fans are just as stubborn but they have more teeth and less of a tendency to bed down with those that are blood related. Just kidding, I like a couple JD's here and there. However, there are tractors just as reliable with better features and a lower price tag than John Deere. JD is good but there is way too much hype about them and they are way overpriced.
MAYBE IF YOU MAINTAINED THE INTERNATIONAL ONCE IN A WHILE AND DRIVER EXPERIENCE.IN THE BIG TRACTOR PULLS IH 30 WILL EAT YOUR JOHN DEERE AND A COCHSHUTT 30 WILL EAT THEM BOTH NOW I OWN JOHN DEERE BUTT THERE NOT THE BEST .IT ALL COMES DOWN TO WEIGHT TRACTION AND HORSEPOWER , STROKE AND GEARING.
"Green means go, red means stop....." Perfect! Too funny Wes.... B-)
I think the Red/Green bickering is hilarious, particularly since there are thousands and thousands of both of them out there 50+ years old and still going and going and going! What remarkable pieces of machinery they are, eh?

Like Wes said..."GREEN MEANS GO,RED MEANS STOP"haha!!.(there is a WHOLE LOTTA GO in the 9620R)
Until it runs out of gas pulling a Farmall and you get to wait two weeks for the field circus to show up to reset the computer.
I just love the sound of that old 60!!
Used to assemble the gravity boxes at my Dad's Tractor Supply Store 35 years ago.

Love how Tim is pissed, but can't help but smile (almost laugh) at the whole situation. Been there, done that!
I have operated both the JD 370 and the IH SuperM. I like them both! One can not make a comparison when one is not running right.
I used to live on the outskirts of the small town of Hampshire, IL and the farmer of the field down the hill from my house had a Minneapolis Moline tractor. Our neighbors had an Oliver...both long gone now.

it may be a stupid question but why did so many earlier tractors have their front wheels so close together?

Wes and Tim nothing wrong with the Farmall.
I drove one for many hours back in the early 50 on a farm pulling a baler in summer
and plowing snow in winter. Fix her up and she will do you proud just as good as the JD
I almost feel sorry for Tim, but then again.. it is a red one. :-)
What do you grow in Holland? Is antique farm machinery common? I have heard that Holland is a beautiful country and would love to go there one day.
then why did i have to drag the red one out of the shed? no joking!! lol JK

if that Super M were run regular as that 60, it would run just as good.
who needs to take the super M to the scrap yard now?
the 60 is good that can stay
That is what my dad says
My Grandpa And everyone else in my family say the red goes, and the green stays
There is nothing wrong with the red
Wes I'm calling you a dirty name for teasing us with all the tractors you have and you ability to fix them and keep them running.
Convert your electric to 12v on you beautiful RED tractor.... Tell the loud mouth I've pulled more than one of those green moldy tractors to start them !!!
Oh Come Now ...JD people cant work on IH's hahahaha lol
that's what you call a real brand war , and I hate to say it but the red won till you stole it's gas and it's points broke ha ha ha

That is proof that gas makes a tractor happy.
we should trade some 2 cylinders for some farmalls......idk y I gave the jd,s a chance they wont run for shit for me! lol seriously my dad has 11 of them the only one that I like is the 720 diesel wheatland and the ponymortor still don't run on it!!! my h,s m, and super m all run fine tho I wish my dad would have bought like a 4010 or something that would be a ok deere I guess but I still know red is alittle better

on our farm we had two M and John deere G M's were great for long road hauls the G was great for long fields hauls . most M's in are area engine were upgraded with high altitude piston sleeves and heads which increase horsepower to about 60-62
