@@jcoopes5604In the 50s I remember a great aunt who had polio and she was the most miserable, unhappy person I’d ever met and I avoided interactions with her because of that. I think she had a lot of pain and I was too young to realize it.
I’d never want to see young people go through this again. This anti-vax movement will just cause old horrific diseases to make a comeback and I’m happy knowing those that I love and care for would never allow their children to be at risk of such devastating diseases. But Polio … this is not something to play with, folks. It’s a serious threat.

I am in my mid sixties and almost died from measles when I was a kid. Some of my earliest memories are of being delirious with fever and not understanding what was going on. I cannot believe the willful ignorance that people exhibit now.

I am so saddened and angry that Trump made being antivax popular! Being a Dr I thought my family would take their cue on the COVID vaccine from me? That was a really stupid thought of mine! All my siblings declared themselves antivax!

In future whenever they come to ask you about health concerns, you can refrain from giving your advice 😅
It's utter madness. I HATE when people give me their antivax rants. My partner is a doctor and I studied public health, specialising in communicable diseases. My son has cystic fibrosis and my fully vaccinated daughter caught whooping cough when they were younger. We spent weeks freaking out my fully vaccinated son might catch it, too. The area where we lived was rife with antivax nutbags and little babies yet too young to be vaccinated were dying from whooping cough. Insane.
I have spent time in ICU with my son suffering a regular cold virus for which there is no vaccine. Unfortunately, that's what can happen with CF, which is why it is so important that people are vaccinated for the things they can be, to help protect our newborns and vulnerable people.
Antivax is pure selfishness and stupidity. I put my hand up and give my pro-vaccine rant right back. I have two degrees in it, my partner is a dr. What are your qualifications, is what I say. I don't want to hear from twits who got their information from conspiracy theory websites.

Hi Tommy, my wife and I named one of my daughters Laykan (spelled it different) and a lot of people have called her Lincoln because her named is so unique and kind of new and it's usually the older crowd of people that would call her that but she and I wouldn't take it personal, we'd just correct them. I also knew the immature MAGA Republicans would make headlines out of it too!!! Either way, Biden killed it that night and that's all those dummies got out of his great speech!

I agree with Tommy's comment below. Sometimes your brain just auto fills for what you are familiar with. My daughter is named Brennah and almost never gets called that first go as people call her Brenda or Brennan.
