14 years ago this video ignited my love for a capella music. Thousands of songs and dozens of performances later, I cannot begin to thank this group enough
Still one of the best EVER! I remember watching this in ‘06! :D For the curious, the video’s themes, in order: -Level Success Theme (Super Mario Bros) -Super Mario Bros Theme/Level 1-1 -Dr. Mario -Invincibility Star Theme (Super Mario) -Tetris -Mortal Kombat -Underground Theme (Level 1-2, Super Mario) -The Legend of Zelda -Game Over (Super Mario Bros)
Every couple years I come back to this video, often to show it to others. I just showed it to a kindergartener for the first time and seeing him yell excitedly at almost every transition was priceless :)
*WELCOME TO THE INTERNET* ------------------ Our first stop is a group of accapella singers called "Redefined Accapella" singing Nintendo music! This video was uploaded to RUclips in 2006, and has now reached a view count of 3.9 million views! Our next stop is a video of a talking dog.....
Wer muss da noch weinen, so lustig und voller Leidenschaft erinnert es die Kinder, die in den 80ern geboren sind, an ihr Kindheit mit Game Boy, NES und SuperNES?
Every single time when Mario enters a cave, no matter if I play, or if my kids play, or if anyone enters any cave in any kind of game or movie, the urge of saying the three magic words is unevitable. I say them in my deepest voice. "Dabba Dabba Dabba."
If only all of these awesome actresses / actors could read this, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS! I know ultimately this is the result of a 3rd party that wasn't in the production, but this has helped me through a lot of bad times, then and now.
This is one of the very first videos I remember seeing on a brand new site called RUclips. If it ever leaves, I will be the saddest person in the world.
Okay...so the fact that they are still in key is AMAZING. This is EXTREMELY difficult to keep on pitch when singing those high pitches... I know because I've "attempted" singing this. x_x
Just popped in my head and had to take a trip down the memory lane of ebaums world vids. The yell of "mortal kombat" sent a shiver down my spine still....
Kabloomi the devs of the original Tetris were russians and used a russian song for their game. Nintendo bought it off them (for much less than what it would be worth later on)
Love how they brought humour to this. It wasn't the easiest things to sing acapella, and they weren't perfect. But hey! Its live! Would have loved to see this live.
I saw this video about 16 years ago, and I came back ti listen to this masterpiece again after seeing the Mario Bros movie in 2023. This video is still awesome
im seeing my friend sing in this a capella choir tonight called "redefinded" in madison and i didn't know what to expect so i looked on youtube, searching "a capella" and the second link was this! i was shocked!
First RUclips video I ever saw! It was fascinating. We followed it up with a video titled something like "Me and my friend munching carpet to Super Mario Bros" and they were crawling on the floor chewing on the carpet. So we got to see the excellence and craziness of RUclips right away! (The carpet munching video, sadly, seems to have disappeared.)
@DX5K Yeah, they will. It's 2011 and kids these days play games from the 90's and before. over 20 years and Mario and Zelda are still going strong. I doubt that either series will stop any time soon. Think before you comment.
@CaptureTheDream90 Totally right, but i'm pretty sure they were having fun. Its a really good choir group at UW-Madison, so they're doing it cause they love it!
Wow this was pretty good! As a vocalist and instrumentalist,, I noted that there were some sections where they were out of tune slightly, particularly with the bass on the underground theme, his lower register wasn't quite there. Overall though it was excellent! It takes a lot of skill to have so many unrelated parts done A Capella.
@amazinggsoop they're a choir group, they will sing whether or not they do stuff like this or not. This is unique and spectatcularly creative and well sung so no it's not a matter of they were bored and decided to do this for fun, this is most likely a school choir and they are engaged in extra curricular activities. so...yea! :D
17 years later and this video never gets old.
Haven't the graphics been better in the past!?! 🤣
agreed
18 too :D
I always end up back here. Such happy memories.
One of the best videos on RUclips
Back when ebaums was actually showing good stuff 😢
14 years ago this video ignited my love for a capella music. Thousands of songs and dozens of performances later, I cannot begin to thank this group enough
That Tetris dance was priceless! What a talented group!
The Zelda intro almost gave me tears of nostalgia of how epically they portrayed it. Lol
Same. I had tears too
Facts me too
@@polosport719lol you're such a dweeby soft manchild.

thank you
1 year late but there's also the mario 3 hammer bros theme between dr mario and the star theme
Thank you for this, I knew all in order but didn't wanna type it out, I'm lazy.
Yeah thanks for this!
Every couple years I come back to this video, often to show it to others. I just showed it to a kindergartener for the first time and seeing him yell excitedly at almost every transition was priceless :)
The Tetris one just EXPLODED my mind. Brings back so many memories of long nights playing till 4 in the morning.
2023. Und ich bekomme immer noch Tränen der süßen Erinnerung in die Augen, so sehr rührt es mich.
That ending still gets me, just something beautiful and memorable about these classic game themes
10 years later, the Mortal Kombat part still cracks me up xD
Mortal Kombat was a Midway game, not a Nintendo game. So I was surprised that it was included in this acapella.
@@matthewrivera5923 Well, Tetris isn't a Nintendo game either, yet it was included too.
@@matthewrivera5923 because it was available for the nes and snes
This is a real masterpiece and does homage to the great Nintendo music and I love it, these folks are SO VERY talented!
Almost ten years old O_o.
I first saw this in early 2005, so it was actually at least 11 years old as of the date it was posted to RUclips.

The Tetris section gives me chills. Probably the best part of the whole performance.

This is one of the very first videos I remember seeing on a brand new site called RUclips. If it ever leaves, I will be the saddest person in the world.
So glad I found this piece of gold again!

Just popped in my head and had to take a trip down the memory lane of ebaums world vids. The yell of "mortal kombat" sent a shiver down my spine still....
Very few videos I can laugh my ass off, appreciate musical art, and reminisce all at the same time. Bravo!
This is so old. And it's so amazing. Fuck.
I'm just discovering this now.
I'm with you on this one. I was just told about it, and I watched it. It was amazing.
I remember that I was this video before RUclips existed Oo Dafuq I feel so old right now...
(sorry for bad english)
Me too!! T_T
I think this is the first video I can recall watching and sharing to friends in You Tube's infancy.
The Sony Kids will never find us here. ❤❤❤
See you in a few years again. 🍀
OMG I FOUND IT
Anyone remember ebaumsworld?
I didn't remember him, but I knew alan becker was met him since the animator vs animation project 1 decade ago
Tetris is like.. Russian or something....
Kabloomi Yeah
Kabloomi the devs of the original Tetris were russians and used a russian song for their game. Nintendo bought it off them (for much less than what it would be worth later on)
15 YEARS AND STILL MOVING :___D
My favourite video on the internet!!
Pentatonix ain't got nothing on them.
The first RUclips video I can actually remember watching...
Still great in 2024
Already 14 years man. I remember this was one of the first videos when I registered here (day 1 account)
You're a certified OG.
Love how they brought humour to this. It wasn't the easiest things to sing acapella, and they weren't perfect. But hey! Its live! Would have loved to see this live.
Still watching it! They are really good!
I saw this video about 16 years ago, and I came back ti listen to this masterpiece again after seeing the Mario Bros movie in 2023. This video is still awesome
I remember first watching this on the Kombat Pavilion, what an era gone by.
17 years ago and still love
Epic, an all time classic video with the best themes out there, and that end!!!, Zelda ❤
I don't know why but i get goosebumbs everytime when I hear music i know
Amazing I've watched this video when it first came out on college humor ahh the good old days when only good/exceptional videos made it online.
This was absolutely amazing!
This is very nostalgic, it was thanks to this video if I discovered RUclips back in 2006.
This is now my favorite acapella group of all time.
im seeing my friend sing in this a capella choir tonight called "redefinded" in madison and i didn't know what to expect so i looked on youtube, searching "a capella" and the second link was this! i was shocked!

I feel like this video come from another era, 15 years!
Kudos to whoever did the choreography. Bloody brilliant.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
3:01 is probably my favorite part. "mMORTAL KOMBAAAAAAAaaaa.....(t)"
this is probably the best video on youtube
Dang, I remember watching this in fifth grade! I still think this is pretty friggin' epic :D
You guys killed this. Well done.
I'm crying. That was amazing! Memories...
This is what nostalgia sounds like.
The poor quality makes this gem even better after all these years
For anyone who dislikes this video, you obviously have never played or just don't appreciate the classic games.
Omg that's right! How could I forget!!!
same here, and it's still worth it. this is awesome!

I've found it again!
This video is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW this is EPIC I would have LOVED to see this in person
@3:30 Chills every time.
“This is but one of the legends of which the people speak...”
Wow this was pretty good! Know who does even more awesome a capella retro video game music? Visa Röster.
Great video guys! I like it!
@Munieq: doesn´t matter anymore. Mario has upgraded his skills! Now he can walk to any direction he wants to.
*waving to my future self when I inevitably look up this video again in a few years 😂
Omfg this is amazing!!!!! And I laughed for like ten minutes straight after the Zelda part
it is times like this when i am completely confused how 464 people could dislike this...
This video is so old, some of these folks could already have offspring that are as old as themselves in this video.
@amazinggsoop they're a choir group, they will sing whether or not they do stuff like this or not.
