First time I've heard of this breed. But that's what I love about following you, you're riding some obscure breeds and broadening my knowledge of what's going on with horses on our fair planet. Another great video, I'm such a fan ❤️
I was waiting for this one! The ASH has always been one of my favourite breeds. They are just such good horses for pretty much anything, real all-rounders. Campdrafting is really fun to watch. One year at the Sydney Royal Easter Show I even got to see a family campdraft which had two people cutting/working three cattle. Even my dad enjoyed watching that, and he knew nothing about the sport (or horses) at all. 😀
I love Australian Stock Horses I learnt to ride on them and they are amazing (well the ones that I learned to ride on were ASH x something else but yk)
Hi Alyssa, Both the ASH horses you rode are absolutely beautiful. What a lovely breed. You can see the Arabian, TB and Welsh Cob in them, but they seem to have that Quarter Horse 'cowiness' and amiable personality. Lucky you!
thank you again, hopefully you discovered how important THE HORSE was, to the development of my country, and how the horse was and is so loved. God bless you
I'm not sure if you already have this planned, but I'd recommend Portugals native breeds: The Lusitano, the Sorraia, the Garrano and the Terceira Pony! The Lusitano is the most well known and it is the pride of Portugal! Personally my favorite is the Sorraia though because they're just cool. Love this series, what a cool life to live!
I had a Aus stock horse when I was growing up and would not have traded her for anything. One of the smartest horses I ever met . Would adjust her self for each rider - With me she would muck up a bit to challenge me but never more than I can handle or when we were competing (seemed to know when she should behave), but If I got off and put a beginner on instantly bomb proof. She was the go to horse if you wanted to teach someone to ride as you knew they would be safe (taught alot of kids at pony club using her).
Visited a campdraft and was so impressed by both the horses and the rider. Fast thinking and working together as a team. The steer is guided around some posts - most of the time they won't comply and run off. Super fast comp. That steer then is retired. Kind on the cattle and showcases the skills needed in drafting. Unforgettable.
What ab interesting episode! And the black stallion - absolutely gorgeous! I think I am in love 🥰 Looks like a very interesting Sport and quite Kind to all participants. That’s great to see during these times!
I enjoyed learning yet another breed of horse and the trip to Australia! Love the servant heart of the Australian Stock horse. Thank you for the video!
Being an Aussie this breed does Australia proud just as agile , intelligent , talented and beautiful as any other stock horse breed around the world The Australian stock horse can give any other cattle horse a run for their money .❤
A great review of a great horse with what I consider one of the best ambassadors of the Australian Stock horse breed,(although I'm a little biased as Geoff is my niece's Father in Law) If you haven't already seen Campdrafting do yourself a favor and go and watch it. It's exciting to watch!
They forgot to mention the Quarter horse in their breeding. I had 2 Australian Quarter horses, one was purebred and the other other Quarter x Arab that were registered Stock horses and both were great at working cattle on long drives. 🐎
😁 hello, I have never heard of the breed but it is quite unique. I do like the campdraughting it looks fun, the horses seem to know what to do them selves. I reckon the rider needs to be fit to sit on the horse all the same. The horses Seem like they would love a long trail ride also. Thanks for the video enjoy the hot weather. It's cold here in Ireland 😏.
Since you seem to be at the Draft Horse side right now may I recomend also trying the austrian Norika? They are pretty rare, but you can find them around Salzburg or in Tyrol.
Such an incredible breed! I have two who I both show and they do high level hack shows - it's interesting how the breed is used as a western and English horse.
I'm trying to get the Australian saddles to catch on in the U.S. They're absolutely brilliant!!! ✨️
what a lovely, balanced, light gentle guy! Thanks for the intro to the ASH!
What a gorgeous breed of horse.
Those saddles are very good looking too

Yay! So proud to see my own country and breed featured! ASH are wonderful horses ❤

I have an ASH, I’m Australian though, and he’s my mischievous baby, though he’s 21 now, but still full of himself. They are a beautiful horse.

I love watching campdrafting at all the local shows.
It is such fun to watch!
I like their confirmation they look good they seem to move smoothly and I have never heard of camp drafting
thank you again, hopefully you discovered how important THE HORSE was, to the development of my country, and how the horse was and is so loved. God bless you
What a powerful working horse 👍!

A truly enjoyable video. Those horses have an incredible intelligence. Thanks for these videos. I throughly enjoy each episode.

Campdrafting is more cow & horsefriendly than rodeo.
I really hate Rodeos....

I have a mare sired by the black stallion doongara manpower and they are totally awesome 🤩 I’m obsessed
@@alyssacoates3061 Really? Wow, she must be one amazing horse!
@@alyssacoates3061 your friendship and WhatsApp plz 🌹🥀🌻🌺
Snaffle bit, soft mouth so much better than cruel barrel racing with harsh bits and hackamores
They are a lovely all round horse
Stock horses are the best. I loved my boy Dodger. He was by Abbey out of a station bred mare
Gorgeous and so in-tuned to you.
I don't know since I've never met one. But one thing I know for certain, ALL horses are beautiful!
Love this! Had never heard of campdrafting but it looks like a lot of fun!
Thanks Rachelle! I agree, it is a really fun event!

I also envy her for all the experiences she's having
Great to see this on your story. I lived once about 10 miles west of Fernvale and know Fernvale well.

Stock horses have great minds and good temperaments
And they can jump. An ASH won a silver -eventing at the Olympic Games a few years ago.
Who was that?
My favourite thing about the ash’s is there versatility and kindness same thing I wrote in my article that went into the stock horse magazine
Great!!!
That looks fun!
Wow, what a gorgeous horse bread!! ❤️
How good this
I think you could equate it to the American Rodeo? Seemingly a lot more humane too. Campdrafting--I’ve learned a new word today!
Very interesting. What cool horses. Campdrafting is a little like the Working Cow Horse competitions in America.

It’s very scary but so fun I love to campdraft
@@alyssacoates3061 to be fair I love all horses but the only sport I wouldn't do is polo. Looking forward to seeing your next ride quest.
Sheldon.
Campdrafting is like reining w/ cows...which is where reining came from in the first place. We should try this in the U.S...
I would love to see this event here in the US!
That sport looks about a part from working equitation with cows. Mostly they do working equitation with PRE's and andalousians. 👍😘
Since you seem to be at the Draft Horse side right now may I recomend also trying the austrian Norika? They are pretty rare, but you can find them around Salzburg or in Tyrol.
*Noriker they're not rare at all and can be found all over Austria:)
The shaved mane is interesting.
What do you think of the stock saddles we have down here?
The ASH is known as "the breed for every need"
My competition mare is sired by doongara manpower and she’s won a very very big spot in my heart ❤️
Awesome! I bet she is a blast to ride!
@@DiscoverTheHorse your WhatsApp plz 🌹🥀🌻🌺🌼 I'm excited for join you plz 🌹🥀🌻🌺
Beautiful video! Such amazing horses and looks so fun to ride!
Question, why are the horse' manes shaved off?
Heat
❤❤
🐎🤠🥰😍😘♥️💖💝💞
Can mAm make a vedio for Holland horses those wild horses stuck in river 2008 then rescued where they are now
go to poland and ride Polski kucyk plss
They ended up adding quarter horse blood later down the line so some of them tend to be built a little stockier
Such an incredible breed!
