there's way too much focus on the ideas and opinions of ai (it's actually 'general' or 'strong' ai because we already have ai). He's a story teller. He's a character driven story teller. What happens next in the story isn't important, it's the dynamics of the people and how they evolve. sequels are not something artists think about. that's summer bs movies (which i do enjoy, but it's a whole other thing).
if you guys like this movie, go check out 'bone tomahawk'. it's a western. but it's another novelist turned movie maker who does brilliant work that's gonna change cinema along with ex machina.
if you're interested in ai go read Ben Goertzel.....But check your ideas of free will at the door.

How can he end the movie the way he did and say its over... I don't think he watched the ending to his own movie... The ending screams sequel... (shes now out in the world and nobody knows what she is or that she even exists. She struggles to find meaning, battling social situations and feeling she may not be able to control? how is that NOT a good story line for the next one...)

Peter Leyshan But evolution never stops, so how can the implied ending to this movie stop there!? So basically your ending is "shes free and lives happily ever after with no need for food or water forEVER" ha awesome.
How does evolution in that scenario work? Does she just end up going to the store to buy some parts to build a new robot? She just living forever alone is not evolution.

If Fast and Furious can get to 7, I think at least 3 would be fantastic.............

xep5k One sequel yes please, but don't even mention F&F as an example of how many sequels it could have. They're gonna make F&F8, btw.
