For over two years, Frank and her family hid in a makeshift room behind a bookcase in an Amsterdam building where her father worked. The entire time there, until she was captured by the Nazis, Anne would write her thoughts and dreams into her diary, while the world outside her hidden walls went to hell.
After the Second World War ended, a few helpful hands saw to it that Anne’s diary was made available to the world. It has since been a brutal reminder of what humanity can be capable of at its worst, and what humanity is at its best. Here is a single brave girl’s story of survival and fear in one of the darkest chapters in history.

The graphic circulating online claims that in 1980 a lawsuit prompted the “German State Forensic bureau” (BKA) to “forensically” examine the manuscript.
It says that “the analysis determined that ‘significant’ portions of the work was written with a fine ballpoint pen. Fine ballpoint pens were not available before 1951; portions of the work was added well after the war (Anne died in March 1945) [sic]” it says.
“The BKA also determined that NONE of the ‘diary’ handwriting matched known examples of Anne’s handwriting. Earlier handwriting experts had already determined ALL of the writing in the ‘diary’ was the same hand. Hence, the ‘diary’ was a postwar construct

The BKA report DID NOT contain any specific information about the locations, type and extent of the ballpoint pen corrections. A journalist from the magazine Der Spiegel concluded in 1980: "The 'Diary of Anne Frank' was subsequently edited. This casts further doubt on the authenticity of the document." It feels wrong to say both Anne Frank's diary and Maus are among my favorites, but it's because of their resolve and strength in words that convey such atrocious events. Another one to read is the autobiography of Thomas Buergenthal, A Lucky Child: A Memoir of Surviving Auschwitz as a Young Boy. There's also a fictional book, base on the true story of the author's grandfather and family, We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter.

The Austrian Painter wasn’t the only architect of the Holocaust as there were many other perpetrators who were responsible. While it was him who ordered the Holocaust several of his henchmen oversaw and implemented it thus also making them responsible for the Holocaust. Those henchmen who were also responsible for the Holocaust were Henrich Himmler the head of the SS, Reinhard Hyederich, and Adolf Eichmann. Himmler helped create the concentration camps, ghettos, and killing centers along with killing squads, Hyederich oversaw the killing squads and helped oversee the Wannsee Conference which sped up the process of killings, and Eichmann oversaw the deportations of Jewish people to ghettos, concentration camps, and killing centers. Unfortunately of all of the major architects of the Holocaust only Eichmann and Hyederich were punished for their crimes with Hyederich being shot to death by partisans and Eichmann being put on trial and was then executed after being found guilty. Unfortunately before he could be put on trial and punished Himmler committed sucide meaning that he was never punished for his horrible crimes.

So let us get this straight. She wrote a fantasy novel about narnia, got abducted and sent to a gas chamber, died, and her diary stayed in the house where she was taken and lasted 4 years untouched even when all of germany was being completely obliterated day and night. Lasted perfectly safe, not wet or mucky, until some Jewish person in Israel found it in the house that was not under piles of rubble and that israeli person immediate realised its significance over the hundreds of potential other diaries and then took it back to israel, having travelled over to germany just to find this book, because liek what else would you being doing in an apocalyptic nightmare distopia, and then sat on that book for twenty years or so before publishing it AFTER the holocaust was now established in 1966. But didnt publish it years before when it might have been isignificantly brushed aside...
    Oh kay...
Sorry but i prefer the CS Lewis books better.

Its interesting how you want to comment on things and try to be smart and fail so miserably.
      1. Anne did not lived in Germany. She was, like so many Jews, abducted in the areas that germany occupied. She lived in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam. And the only thing that was bombed in Amsterdam were the Fokker-Werke in the North of Amsterdam. The House where the Franks were hidden is in the Center of Amsterdam, to the south. There were no bombs in the south.
      2. The persons who found the dairy were the NON JEWISH People who hid the Franks: Miep Gies and Bep Voskuijl. Both never lived in Israel. The dairy was found by them before the Nazis could "pulsen" ( its a dutch word for the clearout of the Flats of the deported) the hideout. They gave the belongings they could save to Otto Frank, who came back to Amsterdam in 1945 as the only survivor of his family, he was one of the few lucky ones who could be liberated from Auschwitz through the Sovjet Army.
      3. The dairy was published 1947 under the dutch title "Het Achterhuis".
Basically ALL what you wrote is wrong. I only needed around 5 Minutes to search for the correct informations. What do you get from blatantly LYING. At least try to do it better.

    Elie Wiesel. "Night"

    • @itsoktobewhite4278
      @itsoktobewhite4278 2 месяца назад

Reviewers have had difficulty reading Night as an eyewitness account.[57] According to literary scholar Gary Weissman, it has been categorized as a "novel/autobiography", "autobiographical novel", "non-fictional novel", "semi-fictional memoir", "fictional-autobiographical novel", "fictionalized autobiographical memoir", and "memoir-novel".[58] Ellen Fine described it as témoignage (testimony).[59] Wiesel called it his deposition.[60]
Literary critic Ruth Franklin writes that Night's impact stems from its minimalist construction. The 1954 Yiddish manuscript, at 862 pages, was a long and angry historical work. In preparing the Yiddish and then the French editions, Wiesel's editors pruned mercilessly.[5][61] Franklin argues that the power of the narrative was achieved at the cost of literal truth, and that to insist that the work is purely factual is to ignore its literary sophistication.[62] Holocaust scholar Lawrence Langer argues similarly that Wiesel evokes, rather than describes: "Wiesel's account is ballasted with the freight of fiction: scenic organization, characterization through dialogue, periodic climaxes, elimination of superfluous or repetitive episodes, and especially an ability to arouse the empathy of his readers, which is an elusive ideal of the writer bound by fidelity to fact."[63]
Franklin writes that Night is the account of the 15-year-old Eliezer, a "semi-fictional construct", told by the 25-year-old Elie Wiesel. This allows the 15-year-old to tell his story from "the post-Holocaust vantage point" of Night's readers.[64] In a comparative analysis of the Yiddish and French texts, Naomi Seidman, professor of Jewish culture, concludes that there are two survivors in Wiesel's writing, a Yiddish and French. In re-writing rather than simply translating Un di Velt Hot Geshvign, Wiesel replaced an angry survivor who regards "testimony as a refutation of what the Nazis did to the Jews," with one "haunted by death, whose primary complaint is directed against God ..." Night transformed the Holocaust into a religious event.[65]
Seidman argues that the Yiddish version was for Jewish readers, who wanted to hear about revenge, but the anger was removed for the largely Christian readership of the French translation. In the Yiddish edition, for example, when Buchenwald was liberated: "Early the next day Jewish boys ran off to Weimar to steal clothing and potatoes. And to rape German shiksas [un tsu fargvaldikn daytshe shikses]. The historical commandment of revenge was not fulfilled." In the 1958 French and 1960 English editions, this became: "On the following morning, some of the young men went to Weimar to get some potatoes and clothes-and to sleep with girls [coucher avec des filles]. But of revenge, not a sign."[66]
Oprah Winfrey's promotion of Night came at a difficult time for the genre of memoir, Franklin writes, after a previous book-club author, James Frey, was found to have fabricated parts of his autobiography, A Million Little Pieces (2003). She argues that Winfrey's choice of Night may have been intended to restore the book club's credibility.[67]
Wiesel wrote in 1967 about a visit to a rebbe (a Hasidic rabbi) who he had not seen for 20 years. The rebbe is upset to learn that Wiesel has become a writer, and wants to know what he writes. "Stories," Wiesel tells him, " ... true stories":
About people you knew? "Yes, about people I might have known." About things that happened? "Yes, about things that happened or could have happened." But they did not? "No, not all of them did. In fact, some were invented from almost the beginning to almost the end." The Rebbe leaned forward as if to measure me up and said with more sorrow than anger: That means you are writing lies! I did not answer immediately. The scolded child within me had nothing to say in his defense. Yet, I had to justify myself: "Things are not that simple, Rebbe. Some events do take place but are not true; others are-although they never occurred."[68]
