    I love how you break down the details of what you are doing! I have been watching you since i was a white belt and i caught someone in a baratoplata as a white belt because of your video. Now I am a blue belt and plan on continuing the long jiu jitsu journey and continuing to watch your channel.

  • @juntjoonunya9216
    @juntjoonunya9216 5 лет назад +2

    Got it again! And on a higher belt! I don't think anyone does this one at my gym.
    So I got the arm in that laces the thighs from under the diagonal knee cut, as usual, cupped the upper top thigh. Right there it occurred to me that NOW I gotta seat belt with the other arm then back bridge some. DID IT. 2nd time ever in it. 1st was sloppy and maybe a fluke. This time I felt the power of the position as I'd just miraculously took my opponent from a dominant knee cut to in my arms like a baby, shortly the shock subsided and I rocked both ways expecting one to work and it did! I wanted to celebrate but no one was watching and I had to then hold him under my side mount.
    Thanks coach! It's officially programmed in to my repertoire. I'll hook you up via patreon. Getting new moves we don't typically practice will greatly benefit my game.

    Had a chance to try this out for the first time to ight against a larger, stronger and more experienced opponent with the escape from technical mount variation. He was too quick and explosive to hang on to, but this is the last of the major positions I need to build a solid escape for and it worked pretty well. The escape itself worked well and once my head popped out, I was totally sitting pretty.

    I have taught this technique in my No-Gi classes for a while now and one of the blue belts I teach has hit this on 2 blackbelts and numerous coloured belts, 100% legit technique, I've hit it on other blackbelts and my own professor who is 2nd degree.

      Yes I will all in due time. I show a lot of advanced because it’s things very few or nobody knows. There is so many basics already on RUclips, my channel was started to show everyone the things I have that most others don’t. I will show basics as well soon! Thank you!

    As a blue belt this is the only sweep that truly catches upper belts off guard. I get it from everywhere, even when I’m about to get Uchi Mata’d I can usually drop down and shoot my arm between the legs and get the takedown off a sloppy body lock or double leg

    Man I used this technique a lot , but even with out connecting your hands you can still go for the " dog fight" and sweep ( like the regular half guard sweep with the underhook ) if the guy give me a good overhook and strong pressure I switch back to your main sweep and roll him over me
    thanks for the details , it will improve my game for sure but ... some part of me hates you because now you revealed this incredible technique ( I learn this technique while watching dean lister use is it in a grappling match )

    Great channel! Is there any other way to purchase rash guard as opposed to through patreon? Not a fan of patreon personally. As a business strategy you might find that taking the time to package and sell a few of these like your "guard attack series" etc. Over time makes you more money. And I don't know if you have a Shopify store or some place where people can purchase your rash guards, t shirts etc. ? Thank you. And again I really like your channel..I am subscribed to many BJJ and similar vibe channels and yours is right up there as a favorite!

    I couldn't make it work and I got caught with a Kimura, but just watching you again, maybe I didn't spin my body around far enough. Other guys were trying to lapel strangle me. Will it still work in a Gi?

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  6 лет назад +1

      Yes I don’t train in the gi much at all anymore but the last time I did, I used it very effectively. I make my plays quickly not giving my opponent much time for anything. I also know exactly how they will move before they do so I’m more ready.

  • @jonathanwilliams1746
    @jonathanwilliams1746 6 лет назад +1

    Wow I have been using your ghost escape videos and I darced a black belt last night I’m a two stripe blue. Maybe he let me, either way you have some really awesome details and techniques. I want to learn to wrestle. Our school has a pure wrestling class but I weigh 240 and it’s just a lot harder than jiu jitsu. Do you have any suggestions on learning wrestling? Should I just learn to double, single etc..... or does it pAy to learn more?

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  6 лет назад

      It pays to learn more if you have good coaches. The problem a lot of times is the way wrestling is taught. (Very aggressive) It can be taught with a BJJ style but it’s just not the way most do it here in America. I would suggest talking to the coach and letting them know you would like to participate at your own pace. 🤷‍♂️

    4:09 Can the guy on top, jump to triangle from there ? Punching your arm through and him grabbing that arm gives me the impression he can.

  • @betterthanyours16
    @betterthanyours16 6 лет назад +2

    So i tried to hit this sweep on my coach. He is about 130lbs heavier than I am and I very nearly got him. He posted his arm back and before I could counter that he wristlocked my wrist that was on his thigh. Im not sure if this is a legitimate threat or if he was just able to use his strength advantage to do something most others probably couldn't as no one else has wristlocked me from there. Any advice?

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  6 лет назад +4

      Yes the wrist lock is something I’m very aware of when it’s attempted and I tend to look for the wrist lock as well when I’m in your coach’s position. If you sit in a position and lose the tempo, be prepared to be attacked. You need to refine your technique in order to keep moving. Having said that, 130lbs is quite significant and most likely failure will come quite often. Just do the best you can.
