I owned one of these in 1978 when I was stationed at Kessler AFB, Mississippi. Bought it used off another young Airmen who was crying to Daddy on the phone that his car wouldn’t start and the door was broken and wouldn’t stay closed. The solenoid had gone out and the only way to start it was to push start it. While pushing it back into the street he and his buddy had hit one of the concrete filled poles by the bicycle parking section and jammed the door out of line. Daddy the car dealer said I’ll get you a brand new car when you come home in a couple of weeks go ahead and sell it so you’ll have some extra money. I offered $600 cash, we did the transfer paperwork at the credit union and 2 hours later the door was realigned, starter fixer and I was cruising the highway. My trunk had a well stocked toolbox mounted on easy outs, differential gears, a helmet and coverall/racing suit which at the time I was told was part of the street/track racing package. I really do miss that car and this one brings back so many great memories. Oh, it was February on the Gulf Coast and cold as hell when your door wouldn’t stay shut!

Nope, the 72 model had the loop bumper also. I'd ditch those fender wheel well / body molding stripes and the hood stripes, it didn't come with those. And, the mirrors should be chrome.
    2900 1971 models were produced. 255. 1972 models were built. I had a black 72 GTX with 3:55 gears.

The paint is newer, but it's NOT a good paint job, lower doors look rough/painted over and the previous owner took shortcuts on the expense of repainting by not paying for inner door and trunk paint; to make that correct and matching now will require a full repaint over all that other repaint, it can't be "touched up" to match; this car is in far too bad a condition to only have 26,000 or so on the odometer so I'm having a hard time believing that odometer; I would not even make an offer on this although the car is interesting; and that engine sounds horrible/very juvenile for street driving; I suspect it would take another few thousand to get the powertrain right (including fixing some gear whine in the gearbox); good luck whoever pays this price...it is only the beginning of the spending needed to make this more than an occasional car and it isn't going to win any show awards the way it is now

There's no way i or you or anyone can diagnose a sound from a video, but i can and did state what it sounds like. Everyone mechanically inclined has heard the sound i described and it sounds just like i described. What it is I don't know, where it's coming from i don't know, without actually examining it, nor do you. So take a moment next time you respond to anything and read the comment.

I've had and have more than a few of those, Plymouth and Dodge 3rd gen. This car has a LOT of detail issues. Never could figure why someone would spring for those crappy bias repop tires on a car that has a '77 New Yorker air cleaner. Chinese master cylinder too. NO windshield washer bottle but that makes sense since there are no wipers at all. R11 AM radio originally not 'originally' AM/FM. Those exhaust tips are for resonators, not regular tailpipes. Tag shows manual drum brakes. Chrysler NEVER offered manual disc brakes for safety reasons. I could make a list of 50-75 things just from this video at first look. I get the impression this car was completely apart in pieces for years or a parts car with the things missing/very wrong.
BTW, it a 'CONSOLE' not a 'COUNCIL'. A council is group or like a mafioso lawyer. A consigliere. Car was probably slapped together by a Chevy guy.
