I remember our old drum tech in high school would make us track the entire show and then play the drum solo while doing square drill, if it wasn’t clean then we had to start over, that shit sucks
They were incredibly dirty a day before the Houston show this year, no idea how the hell they pulled together to take gold. Their show isn't that good compared to years before imo.
Derp Derpingston "Their show isn't that good compared to years before" Right because Felliniesque totally isn't the highest scoring show in DCI history lol
AznAfroMan513 Its an opinion douche bag. Just because it is the highest scoring show doesn't make it my favorite BD show which is once again an opinion. Fucking tool.
The activity overall is marching band. The league is called DCI (Drum Corp International). And featured in this video is the marching percussion known as the drumline.
We're opening a school here in Chicago and we have a vision for starting kids in grammar school, teaching them drums, so by the time they are in High School, they will be proficient. MY QUESTION however, was ARE THERE VIDEOS that teach this?
+Jim Smith I don't really care what line has a video, I just need to know where to start, equipment, exercises, etc. if you find something post the link for me. Thanks
+Esther jean baptiste Blue Devils have a different order for how they organize their snarelines. Generally the people on the end of BD snare lines are both very strong players and marchers.
I never understood tracking. I don't see how taking baby steps gives you any benefit over just marking time. If it were tracking while using the same or similar step sizes to the actual drill, then ok.
Yeah this was an official system blue camp that was at grand terrace high school it was all weekend and included a ticket to corps at the crest, WAS SUPER FUN!
@@Decogon16 I went to that camp for snareline. My drumhead got melted in the sun when we got our lesson with Scott Johnson and I changed it before the little showcase performance lol. Can confirm the whole experience was a blast!
people please stop with the “dirty” comments. this was filmed so early in this season. they sound pretty darn clean just it being late june.
Silas
Doesn't matter. Whiny, whiny. If you don't like criticism, then don't post.
@@atlantic_love doesnt mean you should criticize people though…
@@Myopus2 Who says? You? Nah. Free speech. They're dirty.
@@atlantic_love they still set the record for highest score in DCI history that year, so 🤷🏾♂️
ahh when they had the good drums

I like system blues lighter and better sound quality
Welp now we’ll see if the ludwigs are good or not
Alex Kister LMAO
Alex Kister Infinity percussion uses them and they sound rlly good
I felt hot looking at those guys and felt even hotter when I saw that mini mountain in the background
s u s ?
That’s not mini it’s just far away.
respect just goes to show BD drumline isn't magic, it is made through hard work, perseverance, and drive to be perfect

1:58 is how my friend devan duts, she's so loud she duts for the whole band LOL
I don't remember the last time I've heard BD sound so dirty...
Just thinking that, this is obviously fantastic but in relative to other years it's a bit of a let down
I mean it was uploaded in June...had time to improve

Brandon my man
that morph was sick
snares we're rocking it
Are there videos that teach people how to build and train these type of drum lines?
We're opening a school here in Chicago and we have a vision for starting kids in grammar school, teaching them drums, so by the time they are in High School, they will be proficient. MY QUESTION however, was ARE THERE VIDEOS that teach this?
+David Rodgers That guy is wrong there are videos that teach this released by this drumline.
+Jim Smith Do they have a website, that I can buy that training video?
+David Rodgers I'm not sure where to get them, I just remember watching them during my drumline camp
+Jim Smith I don't really care what line has a video, I just need to know where to start, equipment, exercises, etc. if you find something post the link for me. Thanks
Did they take brandon solo out aww ): Dang i loved it
Danny Williams probably spring training
Clean as hell!!
Amy 7244 not really
Amy 7244 well not for blue devils
No it isn't clean. Listen.
Damn that's some good shit👍
I thought Kaito was better than Brandon. But if Brandon is second to last you already know that this is a serious snareline.
They put Kaito on the end because he is a good marcher.

Thank you David Brent
At a system blue camp I went to, Scott Johnson said they did it by height. I don't know if that was a joke but it seems legit
Where was this? I feel like I have been on that field before...
Grand Terrace High school in San Bernardino was 95+ that whole weekend..
Mmm, i love me some ol' fashioned tracking
I never understood tracking. I don't see how taking baby steps gives you any benefit over just marking time. If it were tracking while using the same or similar step sizes to the actual drill, then ok.
was this at the System Blue camp in SoCal?
This is pre system blue
