@@suttonjones3605 Boston’s experienced line let this “rookie” line come within .05 which currently separates them after Atlanta. Boston better watch out!
@@suttonjones3605 also traces of 2017 and 1994. But it doesn’t take away the difficulty. If anything this is their 65th anniversary and are allowed creative freedom to some “nostalgia.” Staffs also been around Scojo since 1994. Simply awed by that legacy.
Thank you I appreciate it. It was especially hard this year because my Tascam audio recorder kept dying on me, even though it had fresh batteries. So there’s a little mix of iPhone audio in this one as well, but it’s still good. Time for me to get a Zoom H4N!
Drums is scored as percussion and I’ll be honest it concerns me that front ensembles like Boston compete against bluecoats, SCV, BD and Cavs and somehow kill percussion scores. Their drumline is very skilled and is more members than the front. even if judges are scoring 60-40 battery front, Boston does not compare to the four listed above. I can prove this in terms of speed and technical demand throughout a show. The point is drumlines are treated as so much more important, when they should technically not through member numbers
I would love to hear opposing opinions. I truly think battery and front should be separated sub captions of perc. Please argue against me. I may propose it to the board. It does not make enough sense to me
@@jimbobthornton7916 Respectfully disagree, I see where you’re coming from, but I believe the percussion ensemble should be judged as a whole, in the same way a brass ensemble is. High brass and low brass aren’t judged separately, because they work together to create a product. It’s the same with a percussion ensemble. As far as demand goes, that depends on how the percussion book is written, but in my opinion, Boston’s percussion clarity even from the early season has been undeniable. But if you check how the percussion recaps have been, usually the “content” rankings aren’t the same as “achievement” which I think has been fair as well.
@@quest_17 I respect your judgement and appreciate your reply but from my perspective their are major differences in front ensembles; the differences in members between front and battery are fairly small, and the Boston front is noticeably below the BD crown coats and Cavaliers front. So if you would like a healthy debate I would be happy to. I guess the point is I don’t think the battery is reasonably better enough to overturn the major skill gap between front ensembles, even if you judge 60-40 battery front

Hearing these warmups bring back memories. 2006 was the first year for these warm up exercises. They've been tweaked over the past 16 years but are still largely the same. ruclips.net/video/GCh3V1oiOP4/видео.html&ab_channel=magicsnare
Man I miss them on pearl. These drums sound better than the system blues, but still don't sound super great. Hope they go back sooner rather than later
@@Iplayquad Didn't say they did, they were within .01 and next season will be bigger and badder than any corps combined. Hate to say it but they were way better than crusaders who got 4th!!!

Bad take, bruh, to judge someone from a tap off or their appearance. Have you met any of them? Hands down this is the most humble line we met at all the lots. They talk to us and also listen. They play at the highest level with joy, passion and creativity. Yet here you are, mr. keyboard warrior. 😅
So they feel the need to make the snares sound even more ridiculous by sitting a 1/2" plate of acrylic on top of the heads. Artistic composition aside, I'm sorry, I have never liked the way these modern snares sound. Can't make a genuine rim shot with them and their projection is really designed for indoor playing. 80's BD and Bridgeman drum lines, for example, are the way a drum corps drum line should sound. My opinion, but I am 100% right.
It’s cool to see the Legendary Brandon O. as a snare tech teaching the next generation.
Whoever wrote the bass break is a certified maniac. I love it
Thanks!
Checked this morning’s rankings. This young line is hungry, and Scojo and staff are giving them the tools to go after it.
Where do you check, I've never done that

Some might say that’s still not enough to overcome what Boston is doing. This line is awesome, but they’re using exact sequences they played in 2018.

The bass drums are hitting center of the face. Not suppose to do that!! Kinda like quads where you hit the edge of the face
NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!!
You are 100% right! I have no idea why they are hitting the center of the face 😵💫
thats how they're supposed to be hit to make sure the drum makes the actual bass sound insteading of resonating weirdly
On a marching bass you hit dead center when playing full out…
Legitimately funny comment.
