    I have always said the 52-10 win by the Bokke at Parc De Prince in 97 was the most impressive ever. Ever. Rugby from another planet. And boy what a team....Great days.

    Its a pity that Andre' Snyman was plagued by injuries because he had the potential to become one of the greatest centres in rugby history.

      Nick Mallet's Boks were from another planet. How that group failed to win the World Cup is beyond me. That same group of players lost to the Lions too. Yrrr, that shit blows my mind but I guess it does show that champagne rugby isn't always enough.

    • @powerbite92
      @powerbite92 2 года назад

      @@siyabongamchunu4342 gentlemen.. Mallet didn't coach the Boks against the Lions Louis Luyt parachuted in carrel du plessis.. HIS pick for Boks coach despite du plessis having no experience and du plessis picked uncapped van schalkwyk and percy montgomery to play as an un tried CENTRE combination in the crucial 2nd test. nothing to do with Mallet or champagne rugby. Mallet came in after Teichmanns Boks had lost games by over 50 points and restored some sanity, picking players like Snyman in the centre: ie picking the best players available. the next year 1998 mallets boks won the tri nations and in 1999 Australia walked the WC final against France, it wasn't even close.. but the weekend before the champions Australia barely scraped past the Boks with a late drop goal 9-6 in a match that could have gone either way. So nothing to do with the B&I Lions and nothing to do with picking or dropping Teichmann and nothing to do with champagne rugby. that world Cup had 3 very good sides all vying for victory, ABs Aussies and the Boks with 2 of them not even making the final.

    Nick Mallett gave chances to the great WP/Stormers players that were in form in the late 90s, but the old guard never forgave him for dropping Teichman in 99... Which actually cost us the World Cup. We needed an experienced calm head in that Semi final vs Australia.. But he chose prettyboy Bob Skinstad, who was very young at the time.

    @Real Rugby, do you have a problem with Joost? Not a single Joost try against Engeland, Australia, New Zealand or France. How is it possible that the greatest No. 9 EVER gets no showing on your clips?

    • @RealRugby
      @RealRugby  5 лет назад +9

      Ok, this video is about Springbok tries vs France. Can you please let me know when Joost scored against France and which ones I left out? I asked the same question on the Australia video you bitched about. Please do some research before you comment on this channel. Also, I doubt you would have noticed, but we actually made a highlights video of over one hour on Joost. Not too sure what your issue is, but you can stop now. Thanks

      @@evanderer Rugby is not the main sport in France, hence France only had very good team at times (1995 for instance) and irregular performances along the years. This time may be different. If you have time to spare watch 2020 France England and Wales France. Thé team is very young but I don't see clear weaknesses, plus they have some potentially world class players. Check the 7, 9, 10 and fickou who plays about everywhere. Also Penaud who was injured but more than excellent and plays mostly 11. And the two locks are from SA btw! Sorry long talk
