- Lets take a quick look at a new shoes that I picked up. Pearl Izumi X-Alp Flow Pop lightweight flat sole show with BOA closure system.
These seem like a great addition for lighter days on the bike like quick commutes or a few laps at the indoor bike park. - Спорт
Yo! Thanks for the review, just ordered a pair. Shoutout to Iron City Bikes! Lived in PGH for work a few years ago and stopped by a few times when eating at Round Corner Cantina. I miss riding North Park.
Its been a few since Ive been to Round Corner to eat out. But it usually is a regular stop after rides that end at the shop. Taco and a good cold tequila anything just hits the spot afterwards. NP is my regular stomping grounds . Its the easiest for me to get to. What a great mix of trail for 1 park. Be sure to drop a message if you come back in to town, maybe well get to ride togeher.
how is the fitmit? i wear a size us 12 but the only size they have availabe is euro 47 which is 12.5 us, do these run kinda tight? If they do then the 47 may work for me, thanks
Get the 47 then add a better insole to the shoe. It is what I ended up doing for perfect for. Regular insoles is really thin and I needed more arch cushion to fit my foot.
Interested in these shoes, after a year would you recommend them? Also considering a canvas shoe from specialized. Thanks
They are holding together really nicely. The all synthetic material is easy to clean and keeps them looking fairly new. If you were doing heavier mountain biking I would probably go with the other version Pearl Izumi makes. But for damn near all other riding these are great. The BOA system is super useful. I will be looking for other shoes that have BOA for running and trail hikes.
Sick vid
Thanks man. Grab a pair of these do you don't ride in those floppy shoes anymore!
Hi, I am a novice cyclist- can this be used for road cycling or just MTB? Thanks
Any type of cycling that you can do, these shoes will work as long as you are on flat pedals. I've used them more for commuting around the city than I have my mountain bike.
Thank you!
@@maemendoza1453 anytime!!
Can you use these for casual? not even riding
Yes, absolutely. It is why I prefer them as my commuter shoe. I use flat pedals on my city bike. So I can walk around downtown or at work easily.
Is the width of the shoe standard?
Yes. Pretty standard width.
I was literally just looking at buying those shoes
So far they are pretty awesome. Just keep in mind these are the non padded lightweight model. If you are going to be doing extended riding the X-Alp Launch may be the better option.
Watt On Wheels yea thanks
How grippy are the soles.
So far they seem pretty good. I haven't gotten them into the woods yet or ridden the bike park with them just yet. I am planning on doing a longer term update once I beat on them for a few weeks.
@@WattOnWheels I like the fact that they have the BOA. If they're as grippy as the 5ten freeriders I might get a pair. Thanks for the video. It's helpful!
@@christieclaypool7667 the BOA closure is a feature that's growing on me quickly. Being able to release lace tension when I want to and cinch them up quickly is really nice.
👍
Do you have a pair of these shoes? Or thinking about getting some?
@@WattOnWheels Decision making - will go for the 'Launch' model. Gut feeling.
@@Volkmannx if you are getting them for MTB, I Agree get the launch. These have been good shoes for riding indoor and commuting, but the launch are reinforced better for rock strikes and stiffness.
@@WattOnWheels Thanks! 👍
@@Volkmannx be sure to let me know what you think once you get them!
