:D :D :D :D :D :D :D He just leaves Aerosoft as a Project Manager. He stated already that there will be another/new project manager. Why should it affect the A330 in any case? And why should he comment to your question :D
Definitely sounds like "rats leaving a sinking ship" as the saying goes (no insult here) - seen that countless times before and actually been part of it in a german company a year ago when management went south. There are always companys and employers that think they can do what they want without repercussions, and thats usually how it ends. Especially in a field where you can easily find a new job with probably even better opportunities. And yeah, notice periods is generally 1 month for employees, the longer periods only apply if they want to throw you out. All the best to those guys, i'm sure they made the right decision! As for the A330....after the Twotter and the CRJ, i can happily live without Aerosoft products i guess
Was going to comment the same, rat meet titanic or similar. A combination of Aerosoft going downhill lately, or at least since MSFS came out it’s been more noticeable in there quality of work and support of products, and his age so he’s decided it’s time to go. Those that remain need to buck up their ideas if they don’t want to be left behind. Still no news why they removed the half arsed Twotter, hopefully it’s that they are about to release a much improved version but it’s probably more likely Asobo approached them to include it in FS2024, we shall see.
I had a lot of interaction with Mathijs many years ago when I was sub contracting for Aerosoft making sounds and doing some coding (FS9 / FSX days). There's no doubt that back in the day he absolutely was Aerosoft and nothing happened without his suggestion or at least a huge amount of his input. His enthusiasm and dedication to the industry was entirely genuine and it was a pleasure to work with him even if it was 10+ years ago. Let's hope Aerosoft is still in a good position to continue it's projects and let's also hope that Mathijs appears elsewhere in the industry soon because otherwise it would be a huge loss.
One small addition: The longer notice periods based on employment history applies only when the employer cancels the contract. As employee you always have 1 month.
Depending on his formal position ("management"?) that could differ I think. But yes, -as a bog-standard employee, you can leave with 4 weeks notice to the 15th or last day of a month-. (See Glibber's correction below)
That's simply not true, at least not in Germany. You don't "always" have one month, you have AT LEAST one month. The vast majority of contracts extend this period, usually based on the length of the employment. I don't think I've ever seen a contract that did not do this. The only limitation by law is that the employee's notice period cannot be longer than the employer's.
I would strongly caution them to not release the 330 in an unfinished state. Release is when you get all your hype. If I watch a couple of reviews and they're like the ones for the Embraer, I put that aircraft into the "don't buy" silo, and then by the time it's fixed, there's a "new exciting thing" that people want instead of it. I just think that in this community specifically, poor early accesses are a bad business decision.
Hope we finally get the CRJ wiggle patch after 2.5 years. At least i hope i now get respectful answers on the Aerosoft forum now MK left. I think his behaviour damaged Aerosoft and mr Diekmann should have intervened way sooner.
Mathijs also announced the A330Neo after the A330. It will be exciting to see how this all plays out. Maybe he'll set up his own development team and then publish it under Aerosoft, because to be honest, Aerosoft has always been a publisher and rarely the developer when you think about aircraft. I don't think Aerosoft will end all projects. They are already working on the A320 and at some point they wanted to work on the A350. Aerosoft is a big company, I don't think that much will change.
Regarding the notice period: If you terminate the employment contract yourself, you have a statutory period of 4 weeks in Germany. The notice period only depends on your company affiliation if you are terminated by the employer.
Mathijs was the chief PROJECT MANAGER, regardless what the Aerosoft website says. There are a lot of folks there who do not work for the company anymore...
