    So Shawn has been jonesing to get his Lifted Ram Power Wagon a shot at the Snake Lake Jeep Trail for a while. A few weeks ago we finally got it done!
    In this video we get down the Snake Lake Jeep Trail all the way to Snake Lake. The trail is really steep and really hard, but the Power Wagon and Brent's Lifted Jeep JKU make the trip mostly unscathed.

    I keep listening for creaks, groans and stuff like that. Power wagon sounds solid to me. My 63 jeep and ramcharger didn't sound that solid. This looks like fun BUT is the driving style enhanced for terrain respect, ha i just remembered today is earth day, cool.

    • @shawnomeara22
      @shawnomeara22 5 лет назад +2

      Most of the squeaking and creaking was from the front suspension, the OEM control arm bushings were shot. I’ve replaced all 4 control arms with Thuren’s. That cured all the squeaks, creaks and clunks I was getting, drove me nuts. The brake squeal ended up being a build up of brake dust, blasted them real good at the car wash and that seemed to do the trick.

      @@shawnomeara22 Hey Shawn, thanks for the info. Starting to Thuren mine as well. Got the track bar in. Did a DOR steering brace...happy w/ both so far. Already running "35 MTs stock rims w/ some control arm rub. Planning on doing Thuren 3"(1.5") coils and shackles, maybe control arms later. Wasn't sure on the shocks. Would be interested in your feedback on the Overlands after you have them for a while.

    • @shawnomeara22
      @shawnomeara22 5 лет назад

      John FitzGerald, I just installed the Thuren control arms yesterday. A huge improvement not only in tire clearance but handling as well. The bushings in the OEM control arms were shot and the arms themselves were not built for this kind of abuse, they are really weak. I also lifted it another 1” with pucks on top of the 2” thuren springs, wish I had gone with the 3” from the start.

    • @shawnomeara22
      @shawnomeara22 5 лет назад +1

      John FitzGerald, the 12’s & 13’s are the best years for the PW to date IMHO. We get the 6spd transmission with the 4.56 gears. When Ram added the 6.4L in ‘14 which only added 20 HP and 22’lbs of torque they dropped the gears to 4.10, I’d rather have the lower gears. They also added a coil sprung rear suspension which probably rides better, but it reduced the payload.

      Do you plan on taking your RAM into areas like this where you may contact the rockers with immovable objects? If so, then get White Knuckle Step sliders which I have, or possibly these shown which are Randy Ellis Design. If tarmac bound, then get AMPs or whatever floats your boat.
