Got to say this is one of THE best flying planes we have - as long as its dead calm. In calm weather with SAFE activated you can make it look very scale. For some reason though, I find these are pretty scruffy fliers in wind.
yes, this one is no exception for windy days...
Hey Brian, love your vids. I learned to fly on this 182 a couple years ago when I was 13. She's still going strong! I've since moved to warbirds. I'll always have a soft spot for this umx. Cheers! Porter
It's a beauty, but I LOVE mine now that I have the barn door flaps and LED's added. It was a TON of work, but worth it!
great video Brian! Just got my 182 today.
Out of the box, the only issue I have is the trim does not transfer between mode. (When you switching between AS3X to SAFE, you have to trim the plane again)
I was able to fix this trim problem with some radio mixes. Set slave channels on the aileron and the elevator. Set the master channel to the flight mode switch(channel 5).
Posting this in case anyone would experiencing the same issue as I did.
Radio I use: HobbyKing TX10i
Your trim will not be lost between safe and AS3X...the SAFE is flying away from the settings ;)
When you turn SAFE on, the plane holds to a level, regardless of trim...so when you flip between AS3X and SAFE, your trim will "disappear" ....even though it's not going away... does this make sense?
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks for the tip! I took the Cessna out for its maiden today. The plane was way out of trim. trimmed it out in AS3X mode. will see what the SAFE select does for me next time. The rain stopped me from testing it in SAFE select today.
Awesome little plane! Great scale flying and looks to boot. Thanks for the video and the points on setup. Have a great day!
Thanks! Have you seen what I did with this plane yet? I added LED's and Flaps, and this plane is pretty cool now!!!
Horizon Hobby brings so much fun to life!!
They do a really good job most of the time. I really like this plane!
Yes. You make me wanna get one to play in my leisure time. The sky is so blue, and the neighborhood is so clean!!
Do it then! It's really fun!
My fevory cessna 182 . I haven one cessna reality. Nombe :
YV 857 PP . Good fly
Cool! So it's full scale :)
Sweet! I can't wait to Fly mine. Just havw a High Wind issue, 15-25-35Mph. I can handle at least 10Mph Wind above that, it gets Challenging, but fun!!
Yeah, this plane is so light compared to it's wing size, the AS3X gets really overwhelmed with higher wind. When it's calm, it's excellent!
Have you tried the telemetry for this plane it's nice. On the DX6 and DX9 etc with voice. go to telemetry screen no.11 Rx V set alarm to voice and also status reports to 10sec etc... nice feed back. Also if you are back at main screen using the roller you can toggle to a couple telemetry info screens. gives the receiver volts.
Yeah, and I believe you can set alarms based on Rx voltage too, but I don't usually use this function. I'd like to use the Vario function someday for my gliders, but don't ever spring for telemetry modules.
my 182 doesnt seem to enjoy any wind...bouces around alot...I just bring out the umx warbirds and no problem!
Yeah, the Cessna 182 doesn't do as good as the P-47 or P-51 in wind, but it's a lot less powerful, especially if you're running the war birds on 3S like me.
That’s been me tearing through your videos. I actually picked up the UMX BNF Timber. I don’t have a Devo but I do have a multi protocol module for my X Flite..wish me luck with the setup! Will be the first time I’ve used the module.
broke down and bought one..finally
Good for you - You'll love it! This plane is pretty sweet!
P.S. Don't freak out when it takes like 5-10 seconds to initiate, after plugging in the lipo...the SAFE really gets particular!
Flaps and LEDs... you must be excited about the upcoming UMX Timber!
You bet! I don't even have to install them!!!!
I loves me some slow flying airplanes...so much fun.
I bet you'll like it even more with my mods... ruclips.net/video/f2WTXvf5Hp4/видео.html
Then you'd love this whole playlist!!! ruclips.net/p/PLXTH0DstRDc6EqH0BY0pUphn1Gq4jn3Sx
Yeah I think you might be right I will probably upgrade my radio I was being a cheap skate.I am putting a camera in my cabin. I will let you know when I figure it out.If you figure it out first let me know;
This is a great plane for that with clear windows.
Cut and hinge a door! That'd be sweet
Hello I know this is a old viedo but wanted to see your setting with the mixes you put in for the RUD and ELE couldn’t remember. You like this so much wait until you get the UMX Timber, you’ll love it. I think if fly’s so much better the the 182.
I think the Cessna 182 UMX flies the "weirdest" of all my UMX planes. I've flown it with a heavier pack and she tamed down a little bit :)
My Timber must be coming very soon!
already bound to my dx8..thought it took a second to get ready to fly.
just need low winds here in Ohio..
It's been crap weather here in Iowa too. I think now that it's gonna be FREEZING cold again, it'll probably be calm wind....
I worked on my LED's mod for the Cessna 182 UMX tonight. I'm uploading the video now, but it's only the first of a few parts. This plane is gonna be a challenge since I may not be able to easily split the fuse.
That will be sharp..looking forward to seeing that!
Nice video. I am actually purchasing a full scale 182 right now and definitely need to have an RC clone. I am hoping to paint it the same so I hope most of that airplane is decals you can peel off. Looks like blue paint on the cowl and wingtips but is the rest decals? Anyway, I am also an avid RCr since 1975 so this will be a great addition.
Ronald Monsen Shouldn't be a problem to redo decals and paint, but you'll have to be super careful about the weight.
It's a fun little plane :)
I just bought one of these, it came with one piece of Velcro, how else would you recommend seating the battery proper since I have three?
I just stick it in there sideways and use the lipo wire to help keep it in place. I hate having to depend on velcro, but it sometimes is the best option.
Beautiful plane !!! This i would not use as a trainer. Too many things to break. I like to buy one before they discontinue it.
I agree, probably not the best "first plane"...but it's an okay 2nd or 3rd plane. Beautiful, but not one of my favorite flying UMX planes....not that it flies bad, but I want it to fly more scale, which would actually mean it's HARDER to fly...maybe I'm just being too picky??? I still really like it, but it's not one that I find myself gravitating too often.
The sport cub s is a great trainer . Same size as this 182 and also comes with transmitter . You can also bind and fly with this aircraft if you decide to move up
Thanks for the tips, but I was surprised to see where you maidened the plane.
Why are you flying in a subdivision? Are there no playgrounds or rec sites near you?
+Don Rhone I fly at a few different places, this is one of them. With 3 young kids at home, it limits my ability to just slip out.
Keep it up Brian Phillips ,really nice to see u putting up all this info did u call out the UMX Timber or what?lol I want flaps and l.e.d's and the man gets flaps and l.e.d's !!!!
I pretty much always want flaps and lights!!! Horizon Hobby finally listened, but haven't gotten the UMX Timber just quite yet.
Your J-3 will make up for it in the time being,me and my wife went to my local shop today and I am torn between a Timber and Parkzone Wildcat. The timber will be around for a while so I think im gonna snatch up this $100 MINT Wildcat.I really wanna say thanks for all this helpful info and all around interesting videos,I have been running across your stuff more and more here recently keep up the good work!
Thanks! Good call, the Timber will be around for a while, since it's so popular. I seem to play "cleanup" around here on RUclips...when the other reviews are done, THEN I do mine - LOL
Nice video Brian, can you compare how it flies versus the carbon cub? :-)
+Behar Kryeziu This plane flies very good. It can fly slower than the Carbon Cub SS UMX without flaps deployed. It has SAFE & AS3X, where the Carbon Cub SS UMX only has AS3X.
Both are beautiful, and both fly great, but this one might be a bit easier to fly. It doesn't have flaps or led's...yet:)
This one is significantly cheaper, and the Carbon Cub SS UMX has been discontinued...
I had to add Tundra tires to the Carbon Cub SS UMX, where the wheels look great on the Cessna 182 UMX
Brian Phillips can you do me a favor please? Check if the carbon cub floats fit on the cessna? That would be a resson for me to buy it :-)
I'll check for you, when I'm done with work.
I made you a video, to answer your question. Here's the link for when it's uploaded.
ruclips.net/video/cOOHbsZu1AA/видео.html
Thanks for the question!
I'll get you a flight video at some point with floats installed.
Brian Phillips great thanks a lot Brian! I already have the carbon cub and it is awesome, I will check the video you made for me once it is available, thanks a lot ;-)
Do you have a video of this at your new runway?
I don't think so, but should do it. I was JUST looking at that plane on my shelf today, thinking - I should fly that beauty!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Haha yeah looks great!
Cool flight, the binding part was so fast, though.
It does happen pretty quick! Let me start by saying, I promise I don't mean to be dismissive or sarcastic here, but have you tried watching in SLOW MOTION? Click the Gear (with an HD on it) in the lower right hand side, then scroll over "SPEED", and you can select up to as SLOW as 0.5 Times playback speed (or as FAST as 1.5 Times) WITHOUT losing audio...since I'm sure you're listening for my verbal ques.
I hope this helps, as I can't really control how fast the binding process happens...so it can be a bit tough to follow if you're new to the hobby.
Let me know if you need some more clarification. I'm glad to help how I can!
Brian Phillips you're right hahah, thanx man
you're welcome Cristian
Hey Brian, what' is SAFE select mode? I know what what SAFE is but is select mode just the option to fly with or without training wheels with only beginner mode or not at all?
Let's do this...
SAFE - (S)ensor (A)ided (F)light (E)nvelope - The basic principle is that when you let go of the control sticks, your aircraft will return to level flight provided you have enough airspeed. This is a real concern as you start learning to fly, as most people don't realize how hard this can be to learn to do without SAFE or some other form of flight controller (if you didn't already know, there are several on the market, of which, SAFE is a very good and reliable choice). With regular SAFE, you'll get three MODES of action - Full SAFE (auto leveling with limited pitch and bank angles), Intermediate SAFE (less limited bank and pitch angles, but no auto-leveling...which is totally useless in my opinion), and AS3X Only (SAFE Off - you only get stabilization, which Horizon Hobby calls AS3X or 3 axis stabilization), in addition to PANIC (which will more aggressively right the aircraft with the momentary press of a button, but this will also take over full control for a second or two, which means you CAN fly strait into a tree)...within the scope of SAFE. SAFE Select only allows you to auto level the plane when you're off the controls. This means that you only have to give one channel to the SAFE system, VS TWO on a full SAFE plane. Plus with SAFE Select planes, you almost always have other auxiliary controls at your discretion, like landing gear and flaps, so you wouldn't have channels to operate Full SAFE (as configured at Horizon Hobby at least). One more cool detail you might not already be aware. You can basically make any current AS3X receiver into a SAFE receiver (with a programming cable and their free software application), but I don't buy Spektrum brand receivers, since I'm a huge cheap skate, so I can't tell you exactly how to do it...I imagine it's a huge pain in the butt!
Hope this answers your question!
thats noice
Im planning on getting it. would you reccoment it for a 12 year old? I am a big fan of these rc planes.
12 years old, or not, this is a great plane! If you want a slightly stronger plane, you might want to go for a mini-apprentice, or a full size apprentice. This and the two I mentioned all have SAFE, sensor aided flight envelope, which will help you learn to fly, if you don't already know how to fly.
Whatever you decide, keep in mind you're gonna crash it a LOT, so take the opportunity to learn to fix them. If you can't master that, you will probably not stay in the hobby too long, as it will get super expensive, and really frustrating.
Hope you come back for more videos!
Thanks for watching!
thanks!
ill look into that.
erica ulgen, I got a wltoys Cessna 182 as my first rc plane, toy grade but cool, easy to fly and super durable, never broke the airframe! It only cost me 30 pounds (UK).
Beautiful:)
Thanks! I like it, and since this video, I've added LED's and Flaps...now it's REALLY cool!!!
If you're interested, check it out - ruclips.net/p/PLXTH0DstRDc6EqH0BY0pUphn1Gq4jn3Sx
Hi Bryan.... I finally purchased this plane to replace my stolen sport cub s😂.... Is it better to didn't put the travel of servos to 100% in my dx6e?
Thanks in advance :)
I will almost always run travel at 100%, except with some of the linear servos (like on the smaller UMX planes), in which case about 95-98% will keep them alive and kicking for a long time :)
I would always recommend more throw, with slightly more expo, then you get the maximum throw, with precision at the middle of the sticks...IE, you don't give up a thing!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks, perfect :)... So I'll need to put like 95% for my brand new umx Cessna :)
But I heard that setup an expo in the radio with a SAFE plane could make some problems, is real?
no, that's just typical hysterical RC over-think
@@BrianPhillipsRC ok perfect haha... Thank you :)
sure thing!
By the video it would seem you don’t quite understand this airplane . It is basically a trainer . It is designed to be slow . In safe mode you can even control the altitude with the throttle . 5-6 minutes on li-po batteries is normal . I get around 6 minutes on my cub as long as I don’t run full throttle all the time .
I'm assuming you haven't seen all of my almost 1,200 videos?
Brian Phillips I went to this video because I want this particular aircraft . When I bought my Cub i wanted to buy the Cessna but since it didn’t have all the accessories with it , I bought the CUB . This flys identical to the sport cub s .
I'm not sure if you're asking me, or telling me???
The Sport Cub S and the Cessna 182 UMX both fly very different, but you're right that they're "slower" high wing, four channel planes. If you buy a Cessna 182 UMX, you will see what I mean...the 182 has a brushless motor which is way more powerful and it's way more detailed, and delicate too. The 182 is also a LOT less forgiving, in that it does fly a lot faster (compared with the Sport Cub S, one of the slowest planes on the market right now) but still at a very manageable speed. The Sport Cub S UMX has SAFE, while the 182 only has SAFE Select, but both planes have "auto-leveling" that can be turned on and off as well as AS3X "Stabilization" (all the time - you can't turn it off). There are a few size differences too. The Sport Cub S is a touch smaller, if I'm recalling correct...
Basically, they're both great planes, but the Cessna 182 UMX is quite a bit more expensive, and more detailed. The Carbon Cub SS UMX was similarly detailed to the Cessan 182, but included Flaps and LED's, while the 182 doesn't include either. The Carbon Cub SS UMX only had AS3X, as Horizon Hobby hadn't yet adopted the SAFE on almost everything policy (which is a GREAT policy, by the way, if you ask me)
Yeah at hobbytown USA the 2 planes were the same price . Both at $125 . When I was reading the specs they were relatively close . Even box size was the same ( I know that really doesn’t mean anything ) . I really wanted the Cessna but the Sport Cub S came with all the accessories . I have been trying to read up on the Cessna as much as I could that was I can still use my Sport Cub S controller with the Cessna . That way I can fly each plane as the battery charges from one
I think you made the right decision, but not to be the bearer of bad news, but you won't be super happy using that "batman" transmitter (came with your Sport Cub S) for the Cessna 182 UMX. For one, you won't have access to SAFE Select, and you will not have many of the setup techniques to make it fly well.
You will want to look into a transmitter like one of these, if you want to get into anything other than RTF planes....
DX20 - amzn.to/2D3NIj8 (obviously, this one is just too much for what you're into)
DX18 - amzn.to/2Clv9Gh (obviously, this one is just too much for what you're into)
DX9 - amzn.to/2CMRKih (this one's a LOT for what you're doing still, but might be a good investment)
DX8 - amzn.to/2qAy1xt (this might be what you want)
DX6 - amzn.to/2D0MCEV (believe it or not, you will NOT be able to do some stuff with this one)
DX6E - amzn.to/2m6I87U (believe it or not, you will NOT be able to do some stuff with this one)
...I know you'll think - WHAT A RIPOFF - which is exactly what I would have been thinking, but you'll get hooked if you fly this Sport Cub S UMX and fall in love with it like I did. I flew mine so much, that I burned out the motor once a week or so...not exaggerating. I'd fly 300mAh packs, for about 10-12 minutes until I hit LVC (low voltage cutoff), and I'd do this back to back to back...until I had to charge a bunch of lipos.
Tons to learn, as you advance, but the Cessna 182 UMX would have been a VERY poor choice for you. You made the RIGHT choice, and a good one too....but they are NOT the same :)
P.S. When you seriously think you've mastered the Sport Cub S UMX, you need to look at the Timber UMX. You will be BLOWN away with it's capability, and you will need a better transmitter for it and many of the other BNF planes out there. You will NOT regret buying a nice transmitter, but you won't be excited about it either :(
P.P.S. See if you can find a used DX8 or DX9...they do come up for sale once in a while. Get one with a rechargeable lipo.
Really likes your flaps mod on the J-3. Whats you thoughts, J-3 or Cessna 182 for first plane? Keep up the great vids.
I like the Cessna 182 as a First Plane since it has SAFE Select. The J3 Cub is a good choice too, but it's only got AS3X, not SAFE (Auto-Leveling)...
But
...Both are great fliers. Is it too much to ask for BOTH???
Thanks for watching! If you keep watching, I'll keep posting them!!!
My elevator and ruder servos with this model went bad after just two flights.
What?!?! Were you flying on 2S? Were you by chance, over-driving them past 100%/-100%???
On 2s and not past 100%. The plastic shell was completely melted.
On 2s and not past 100%. The plastic shell was completely melted.
I bet your gears were stuck, and stuck BAD....causing the motor to never stop running full boar. I've heard of it, and had it happen before, but I got lucky and caught it before the melting happened.
Love this plane ,, would it make a good starter ? & Thanks for showing the bind !!
Maybe! The SAFE (sensor aided flight envelope which automatically levels the plane when you let go of the sticks, and you can just flip a switch and turn it off too!). SAFE can make a plane "easy" to fly, but more specifically, it'll help you land and take off.
A couple concerns as a starter plane to be considered (NOT DEAL BREAKERS!!!)...
1) It's pretty delicate...buy some foam safe medium CA and accelerator (AKA Kicker...makes the CA setup like RIGHT NOW!!!) which will help you fix it and make light repairs when the inevitable happens.
2) I got this plane as a Bind-n-fly Basic, which means it's JUST the plane, so you'd also have to buy at least one lipo (which I NEVER get just one!), a charger, and a transmitter. That can add up. If you're persistent you can buy ALL that stuff at hobbyking.com for tons less cash, but the transmitter in particular, might be worth some extra dough for a "good" spektrum choice.
Really, all things considered, it's a SWEET plane, that flies good, and has SAFE...it's definitely an option!
Thanks for the GREAT question!
I've been trying to remember to show how I do this. I forget how hard it was to figure when I was new into RC, but it's kinda important.
I think the hardest thing when being new is the chargers. It's really not clearly labelled anywhere or shown what chargers you need for batteries you're buying or getting, so the adapters and stuff get really confusing. I stick to my UMX planes with the 2s batteries since moving up to 3s and beyond will just get super expensive.
@@BrianPhillipsRC What size Dubro wheels did you use on the J-3 and Carbon Cub Sir? I cant decide between the Umx J-3 Carbon Cub Timber Cessna 182. I like the Bush style flying and Cub style aircraft because I lile to up grade to bigger wheels. Love your channel and reviews Sir....What brand of lights would you recommend for these Umx Aircrafts?
Miller - I used two different sizes, but the best way for you to see this is to search for the plane through my playlists...

When I first binded the plane and checked the elevator, I noticed that when i raised the stick, the elevators on both sides were not even when they moved to down position. the right side moved lower than the left side. Did you notice that on yours? Is this normal? is there a fix for that or is it ok? thanks
I understand your concern.
No, I didn't have that issue with mine, but it is a really easy fit. First, brace the side that "looks most right", then bend the other side gently past where even would be. Don't go crazy, and over do it, as the small wire connecting the left and right sides is pretty thin. You might have to do a little UP on one side, and DOWN on the other to get her dead level, but this WILL work...I have had this issue with other models.
Good luck!
thanks I'll try this. I got to tell you. You make flying look so +$%# easy! I flew this for first time today and without safe on, I was all over the place. Maybe this is my 8th time flying. How many "batteries" worth of flying would you say it takes before I can fly a plane to the exact spot I want. It's getting frustrating.
Many...
Please don't be discouraged, but it is a LOT harder than it looks. Think of it this way...
Flying RC is totally UN-necessary.
It's a skill that you have and nobody can take away.
It can't be given to you or inherited.
You MUST earn it.
It is real.
It is hard.
It is rewarding.
It is excellent!
Spend the time and you will love it like me!!!
P.S. I've been flying for about 3 years.
😂 I’m having this issue now .. 5+ years later
I looked at both of them and they are too expensive =(
the mini apprentice is $250 approximately and the one you unboxed here costs 129 on hobby zone. thanks for the recommendation though.
What type of budget are you hoping to keep to? Unfortunately, these planes aren't super cheap..
Hello Bryan, sorry for disturbing you every time... Today I just hitted a small pebble during a landing and the umx cessna landing gear detached a bit but I fixed with ca glue without problems.... But now evetytime I try to bind it to my dx6e the plane make the classic 3 beep sound but without completing the binding procedure and after some second the plane make the same 3 beep sound.... All of this is like a loop... I also checked the batteries and tried to bind another plane and all is working... So is it possibile that is a faulty esc?... Thanks in advance!
I don't think you're 100% level any more. Since it's SAFE Select equipped, you might need to get her totally level to start up.
I suspect you ARE bound, but rather, the SAFE just won't initiate unless it senses that you are pretty much level and true to the ground.
Let me know if this helps :) Also, you're NOT bothering me!
@@BrianPhillipsRC i found the problem after searching in some forums.
The problem is not the surface because every time I bind the plane in flat surfaces, but the problem is like a short in the rudder servo, in fact when I detach the rudder servo from the receiver the plane bind without problems.
The shop where I bought the plane asked me a video of the problem and I sent it.
If you want to check: drive.google.com/file/d/1-IMn319gkGnhjIIgOYfS4GzxEEmM6Zcj/view?usp=drivesdk
Very glad to hear you got it figured out!!! Some of this stuff is pretty crazy!
So are they gonna replace it for you?
@@BrianPhillipsRC yeah, but in case of damages out of the warranty in the future I think Is very easy to replace a servo like this :)
@@BrianPhillipsRC what type of glue or tape can I use to lock the wings on the cockpit after replacing the servo? (I think as I saw is like a double tape)... Thanks :)
Hi, I will buy one, could you tell me how to set up and how to configurate the airplane.
Thanks
Watch the videos, and you shall know how to configure it.
I'll help answer your questions, when you come up with more.
Whats better this plane or the umx timber??
Hands down - TIMBER UMX!!! (...even with my awesome mods on this plane, seriously...)
How would you compare to the carbon cub ss
I just got this question the other day, so I'll just copy the reply...
This plane flies very good.
I had to add Tundra tires to the Carbon Cub SS UMX, where the wheels look great on the Cessna 182 UMX
...Both are great! this one's still for sale, and much cheaper!
Just got this plane, but wondering on your throttle cut setting why do you change it from -130 to -100. thanks
Gene,
Because the -100 i the setting you want your ESC to initiate to (as the 0% position...). I think they do this for GAS motors, where this would ALSO KILL the motor.
Note that if you aren't careful, and you leave this setting at -130%, it's possible that when and if you inadvertently forget to turn on your throttle cut BUT your throttle stick is full down, at 0%, your motor MAY start!!! It all has to do with when you have the -130% programmed in. You know how you can program an ESC for the "throttle range" by putting the stick all the way up (presumably +100%) then after a second, you'll put it all the way down (presumably -100%)...then it'll initiate. This would be okay...now let's say you set the throttle cut to factory setting, -130%, then the ESC armed for the first time. everything works hunky-dorey for weeks, until you forget your throttle cut one day, then the plane tried to take off from your living room into our kitchen - AND you're in the dog house....not JUST becasue you wife kicked you out, which she did, but you've got contractors rebuilding your kitchen and living room :) LOL...
....but seriously. I've had it happen on my buddies Pulse 15, and I had it happen on my P-51D Blondie 1.2m. I can't for the life of me figure why Horizon Hobby would set it to -130% by default.
Hope this makes sense!
Wait....this is a UMX, so you'd just be in the dog house because you got kicked out... No real damage to your home - I take it back :) LOL!!!
Who can afford contractors after buying all these planes? lol
Just to be clear, on "all" your planes it's wise to set the throttle cut to -100, not the -130 default?
In my experience with only electric planes, yes. IF you were flying a gas plane, that you wanted to "kill" rather than just bring down to idle, then you'd stick with -130% or maybe even more.
if i buy this plane will it come whit an transmitter?? please answer
NO...mine was a BNF (Bind and fly), not a RTF (Ready to fly)....you'll need a radio.
Here's some choices...
Transmitters...
DX20 - amzn.to/2D3NIj8
DX18 - amzn.to/2Clv9Gh
DX9 - amzn.to/2CMRKih
DX8 - amzn.to/2qAy1xt
DX6 - amzn.to/2D0MCEV
DX6E - amzn.to/2m6I87U
Brian Phillips ok
Brian Phillips but if i buy an rtf will i get an transmitter whit it
yeah, but I don't think this plane comes in a RTF, sorry :(
Brian Phillips ok
could you not do a flaperon mix and get flaps?
Not without a spare channel. The ailerons, while attached to two separate "physical" ports, they are assigned to the same channel...so the short answer is, nope.
This plane would be really, really sweet with flaps, but of course, they aren't needed...
Brian Phillips yes sir u are correct I wasn't thinkin for a moment thanks for the reply
No problem. I have a video where I added LED lighting to this beauty, and found out first hand. I was sooooo close to getting the flaps I really wanted... :(
Brian Phillips yea flaps would be great might top out at .25mph lol
How long is the wingspan
About 24.5 inches
Where did you get that
www.horizonhobby.com/product/airplanes/horizon-hobby-air-sweepstakes/ultra-micros/umx-cessna-182-bnf-basic-eflu5650
For $130
Its batteries must be very powerful
2S 300mAh 35-70C Nano-tech
Canada??
ehhh?
nope...USA, Iowa
Brian with you all the way rules are killing the hobby in England to umx is the way 👍🛩
Totally. These rules are ridiculous. I can't speak for another country, but here in the land that's supposed to be governed "By the people, and of the people" sure seems to be governed by a lot of unelected, foolish, idiot bureaucrats!
