I think it's a great first plane or trainer that is very versatile (gliding to sport flying). This little plane in safe mode Flys worlds better than any trainer plane made 10 to 20 years ago. It basically Flys itself in safe mode. I would say if your a beginner then I would suggest the dx6 or higher programmable radio. So you can temper the throws and expo if needed or lessen them, as well as add the flapperons or spoiler ons. And with that story on 2s and once your comfortable flying out of sage then maybe try a 3s.
@@Jeroenvdb88 throw is how far the servos move, the more ‘throw’ the more severe the reaction of that particular servo, “expo” is the amount of elasticity/smoothness to your input. High expo makes stick inputs more gentle . 😎
Good demonstration on why this plane isn't ideal as a first plane. It is workable but as you mentioned it isn't too durable, sprints pretty readily and the small size makes it difficult to work out orientation. I talked myself out of this plane but your video drives the point better than any I have seen.
Hi, thanks for your comments. You’ve done a better job than me to explain the shortcomings of this plane. I still love it but it’s not for a beginner unless you are a super cautious pilot who keeps the throttle nice and slow 😂
I can testify to the fact that you need to keep it close. Lost mine on a very windy day when I could not figure out orientation, even in Safe mode. Flew away and never found. Another pilot lost a UMX Timber same way a few minutes later.
Ah crikey, that’s the worst outcome when they fly out of range, I’ve lost more than one plane just like that, things happen so fast with these small little planes, that’s why I put high viz tape of one side to help with orientation- Best of luck next time 👍
It's an awesome beginner plane. Beginners, keep it in full safe. If you can't control yourself on the throttle, set the transmitter to only go a max of 70%, add it to a switch if you can. Beginners should also not fly on a windy day like this. That's a good tip to check CG, especially when using different size batteries. But really CG should always be checked after every battery change.
It's a glider, for heaven's sakes! Or, more precisely, a self-launch motor glider. I don't think it's intended for zooming around the sky and cutting whifferdils at full throttle. If that is your game, get a different plane, one that is more suited to that kind of flying.

Rock solid advice - thanks my friend
I have close to 12 hours of flight time , with no bad mishaps.
@@michaelbarajas1544nice going 👍
What does Throws and expo s mean and what do they do? I am new to the hobby and just bought this plane

@@that70sgamer that’s rock solid advice, thanks for that 👍
It’s a beginner plane if your sensible, safe mode and cruising around on low throttle can learn all the basics.
I agree that it’s a super plane for beginners as long as you ‘go easy’ on that throttle. 😅
2s 350 mah works nicely for me. Cruises around for a long time
Ya, I agree - just the right amount of power 👍
How did you get the c of g right with a 2s 350? I’ve got an overlander 2s 420mah pack and needed 7g of lead to get it to balance.
:)
Kind and wise words 👍

Nice flying, guy.
You CAN fly on 2s, you know. Also, a beginner, a windy day, and a UMX on 3s is an accident waiting to happen.
Haha, wise words my friend - thank you 🙏
Well said sir💯👍👍
Good thing it's not a plane for beginners. Skill level 2 I believe is on the box.
Ya, it’s size is deceptive- it needs to be taken seriously - but in an enjoyable way 😅
@@rcpilots1291 One of my favorite UMX, I've got a few videos of it posted, check them out 😃
what camera did you attach to the conscendo?
Small cheapey one I found on banggood site
Nice, Thank you. how heavy is the camera with receiver and can it be connected to the board? @rcpilots1291
@@creatizzle.I know that eachine do great fpv micro cameras that add very little weight - check them out
Vs the atom rc its faster, and a better glider, but requires alot lf maintenance, and i hate those linear servo!!!!
I agree with you 100%~ those servos are very noisy
Yes,not a good first plane...
Yes! It flies amazing so as long as you have any kind of self-control you don't have to go super fast. It is a very well behaved aircraft.
