Oh my, what a plane! Way cool. It flies like an arrow straight out of your hand. So fun, power and glide. There are so many levels to advance on this plane. Considering Beginner, Intermediate, and NORMAL (advanced) modes. AS3X or Safe Select. High or Low rates. 2S or 3S. The combinations are perfect to enjoy flying today and progressing tomorrow. Starting on 2S its fast. I'm patiently waiting for the skill level to scream on 3S. We are lucky to have such an amazing plane available to fly.

Great review Adam. This little guy is 3 planes in one. Powered glider, Hot Rod performance plane and Sport Aerobatic plane. For $159.99! NICE! I enjoy the way you do your videos. You get the info talk done than go out and fly (with mim talk). Way to go and keep it up!
"Ain't no way we're ending on THAT sh(beep)t..." Laughed so hard, I snorted. Thanks for that, brother. This flyer & vid is another major win, so I'll definitely be using the link!
Great plane and great video Adam! Another nice hit from HH! I like how it "screams" on 3S just like its big brother does on 4S. And don't "smack" that little plane on the asphalt runway for a "touch and go"! LOL!
Cool little screamer. Sounds like a smaller version of its big sibling. I appreciate you providing the part #'s for those adapters- searching for "male" or "female" connectors like thoseis an exercise in futility. I like that thro--elevator mix tip, too 👍
nice review and an amazing plane - the best step up from a trainer maybe even a great first option apart from it's speed capability - i have enjoyed it's easy hand launching, significant power and speed (on about 1/3 power with 3s), easy balanced gliding and simple landing especially on grass - with the tucked prop and light weight it's almost damage free for landing. Not to mention it's acrobatic ability. Only caution is it's fairly small and with soaring ability you can loose sight of it - but undoubtedly one of the most versatile, thrilling and affordable micro planes out there ;)
Geez, I just bought the seawind and the Waco. Now this. Well I guess this one too. Thanks Adam. I always wait for your reviews before I buy. So far your 3 for 3 on the last ones.
Goodness gracious, what an awesome little screamer! I guess I will need one! Love it’s big brother and (attempt to) fly it like you did here 😂, ok not quite the precision and as close to the ground, but definitely sporty. The Conscendo is one of my favorites and I’m sure I will fall in love with ‘Mini-Me’ as well. Looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, flies fantastic. Great presentation, as always, Adam!
Nice review Adam, that plane is going to be a lot of fun. I'm glad that Horizon has released two UMX planes recently that I can fly at the house. Also thanks for sharing your setup page it makes it a breeze and the planes fly great. 👍🏻👍🏻
Wonderful flights to show off this new little power glider Adam & Heidi. Well presented indeed. I would love to have seen the flaperons in operation but i am sure, time restraints eh. It is the season there for umx releases. Many thanks indeed.
You are such a smart boy Adam. So professional in your hobby. Interestingly here the model will be just short of $100 between it’s price & the full size ( on sale)
Especially with a glider, in SAFE mode you can set up a good landing approach, cut throttle, set the receiver down on a starting bench and have both hands free to catch your plane. Sailplanes make good racing planes because of extreme drag reduction, I wonder how it would perform with wings and tail feathers clipped?
Impressive flying. This seems a lot more capable than I would have guessed. Good show! I remember the tour of your "hanger" some time ago, and it seemed pretty full then. So, . . . have you built another story onto your house - moved some of them out to some of the 'foster parent' pilot friends of yours - or do the old ones go on to Valhalla?
Thanks man! It is very capable, just like the 1.5m version. We are covered up! Lol. We do pass it on. We are blessed, so we share that with others. Quite a few live in other hangars now.
Thanks Adam and Heidi. Great footage and great review Adam. I just ordered mine but they’ve been slow to arrive in Europe like so many Horizon Hobby products. The elevator power mix is a really good idea if you wind this thing up on 3s as intended. Thank you guys!
Great review Adam and Heidi, that UMX Conschendo looks a real blast, and very quick with it!! Definitely one for my Hangar 🤣 All around a very enjoyable video 😀👍
Great video as usual. I'm so tempted to get this one. I've seen the Big Conscendo at the field and I've also seen how fast it can come in. I love my Flaps. Just wrote Horizon and begged them to release the Full size Conscendo with the Flaperon option also. If and when they do, I'll order one that day.
Thanks man! You can program flaperons in the 1.5 Conscendo. Check out the RCG thread on it. It is a common thing owners do with it. You unlock the RX, get rid of the y harness and give each aileron its own channel, then do your flaperon wing set up in the TX.
Yep. When you make changes to the TX set up, when you re-program the RX it will learn the wing changes made and AS3X and SAFE will work as usual based on the two aileron servo wing choice.
@@gisall8205 Happy to help if I can my friend. Getting used to programming these AS3X RX's is intimidating at first, but I quickly found out it isn't that hard. Spektrum has a YT channel with a lot of good instruction.

Jason thank you for using our link. We appreciate the support! I would stick to the 300mah for balance. It flies so dang good with it I wouldn't mess with it, lol. God bless you and yours!
Thanks for a great review. I love the versatility of the UMX Conscendo! How do you think this will do as a slope flyer in moderate winds (say 10-15mph)? I have a UMX Radian that I love, but it's a handful once the winds get over about 5mph, and pretty much unflyable at 10mph. Seems like the UMX Conscendo would handle windy conditions a bit better.
Thanks! Man we made a few attempts at getting footage in poor, grey, windy WX before we got the afternoon you see here. It was blowing 8 to 10 constant with 14 to 16 mph gusts. It got thrown around pretty good, but handled it. Also worth noting is this was in a tighter tree lined area, so the winds there are pretty unpredictable and swirling. On a slope they are more consistent in direction, which helps. I think it would do fine...for sure way better than the UMX Radian.
@@TheYammerHammer I finally got a UMX Conscendo and wholeheartedly agree that it's a great soaring and sloping plane on top of being a fun little hot-rod if you want to fly it that way. I've now flown it in very light air and as you said, it can fly forever on even the slightest rising currents. Honestly, if I had to own only one plane this would be it. So much fun! (other than the fact you can't shoot touch-n-gos with it. 🤣)
Adam this may be the plane to start your fpv adventures. Just to get the hang of what the ground looks like through the camera. Like I said I will send you a fpv setup you just need some goggles. Let me know buddy! 🫡
Thx for the review, again very nicely done. I own the UMX Turbo Timber and the UMX Air Tractor. One question that i wanted to ask concerns the plastic attachements on the wings where the ball links screw into: on the UMX Air Tractor those were made with very flimsy plastic which folded double on the rudder on my plane and caused it to crash (plastic was only 0.5mm thick). On the UMX Turbo Timber they are much better quality with thick plastic of 1.2mm and quite stiff. How are they on the UMX Conscendo ?
Thanks Patrick. They are the thicker plastic on the Conscendo. So pretty much what you'll see is any UMX sporting ball links will have the thicker control horns, and if they have the older style Z bends it will be the thinner ones. For what its worth I haven't had any issues with the old Z bend style while flying so far. If the control surface gets bumped or is in a crash...then the thinner ones have flexed on me. The new 3s birds have some punch, definitely can put more stress on things.
Hey Adam i love your videos mate, a quick question regarding transmitters,i have an old Spektrum dx9 and iam looking at buying a new rafio, would you recomend staying with the Spektrum brand nd if so what would you recomend,or going for something like the Frsky x18
Hey thanks so much man! So, honestly a lot of the different TX's work just fine. Many are really good and to be fair the top brands like FrSky, Futaba, Jeti, etc. work great . I use choose to use Spektrum, and have for about 13 years now. The advantage of the Spektrum is two fold. One is the programmability with the SMART tech is great. You can fully program the gyro (AS3X) and esc's (SMART Avian esc's) right from the TX, couldn't be easier. The telemetry is awesome as well. These are things I use a lot. The second is that they work seamlessly with all the E-flite BNF airplanes, so if you think you'll like a lot of planes from Horizon...that is the way to go. Obviously, you can buy the Spektrum RX's and use them in any plane.
@ModelAV8RChannel definitely looks like it! These small park flyers may be the future. At the very least, they're providing a whole new entry point that didn't exist when we learned to fly.

@@logansmith6037 I live in Canada. Yes, that is intentional. Manuals are simply a starting point ...not gospel. Tune the plane to fly the way you want it to. The flying you see in this vid is with the set up we display.
Hi, I have a question, I purchased this model today but I noticed that in the package there is no adhesive velcro to attach the battery to the model (in addition to the belt which is already in the plane) I noticed that with the belt alone the battery moves, did you put self-adhesive velcro under the battery to secure it? Thanks for the reply.
Thanks for the vid - mine just arrived 😁 Have you flown it on 2s? Mine won't respond to throttle on a 2s at 8.1v ... but fine on a 3s. Telemetry also reports 2.66v/cell on the 2s - as if it thinks it's a 3s that's very low (8v/3=2.66v) - any thoughts?
@AnonymousFlight9600 For sure, it's stronger, of course it has to be. With the UMX Radian, they keyed on keeping it as light as possible. At that size, grams count. I actually soar with the Radian. With the Conscendo, I let her rip! Lol
Hi again model av8r, sorry to continue this conversation but I have one more question, does this conscendo do good in wind? I know the radian is terrible in a little wind, and here it's always a little windy.
@@AnonymousFlight9600 Yep, it does very well. The first day we flew it it was really blowing (for a umx). About 7 to 10mph with 14 to 16mph gusts. Mind you it won't be smooth as silk obviously, but I was surprised how well it did.
Yep, watch the first few quick flying scenes at the very beginning of the episode. The third clip is a no power pass after a slight dive. Sounds good...
On safe mode this just goes up like its going to go in a loop when I throttle up at even 50%. I fly the umx p51 voodoo with the same throttle level that one goes straight. Did i configure it wrong? Any ideas how to fix it?
Check and make sure the elevator is centered. Also, this is a high lift plane, so as you increase throttle it will climb...that is why we used the throttle to elevator mix we talk about in the set up.
@@ModelAV8RChannel then can you give me a list of some planes I can bind to the dxe without tuning? I prefer something that I can progress on, as I don’t want to get more than 2 planes or 3
Man there are planes you can bind it to (almost any HH 4 to 6ch), but you really need to be looking at a better TX...that will help you progress as much as planes will. The ability to easily tune expo, throw, AS3X, etc. can make any plane fly better...even your AeroScout. Nothing will be as good as it can be with a DXe. That is the bare minimum to fly. Check out the NX7e. Affordable but very capable. NX8 is ideal, but more expensive.

Sitting here thinking how I'm going to get this to go even faster and I don't even have one yet.
Speed demon...
woa ok this is nice kinda what I want even a wing that comes of unlike the radian umx
Awesome.
Haha, awesome plane!!! Weird question, what is the spinner (nose) made out of? Is it simply coated eps foam Or is it actual plastic?
It is plastic. The whole front end forward of the hatch is.
So much better than the radian!
Can you hear it cutting the air on no power high speed passes?
Yep, watch the first few quick flying scenes at the very beginning of the episode. The third clip is a no power pass after a slight dive. Sounds good...
Have a great Thanksgiving.....
Thanks man! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well!
Hei Pilot, whats the ichy sound at 13:42? Is afe on and the servo's constantly moving?
That is me deploying the soilerons, but the AS3X is constantly working in the wind.
thnx@@ModelAV8RChannel
I had a knock off model of that style plane, it was very fun to fly, they make great Kamikaze gliders!
Lol, I bet!
Can this be bound to the dxe from aeroscout rtf just by pressing bind button? Or how do I do it??
It can, but you really need a better TX to make it fly well. It needs tuning the DXe isn't capable of.
Not want to fly to far away 🤔👍
True!
Here comes another comment for you to answer lol
This plane is so damn sexy!
I agree!
Safe is ineffective when wing come off
Lol, I bet. Even as tight as we turn it we haven't managed that one yet...
PnP version…?
Only BNF at the UMX size.
This is Bubba's least favorite UMX. Mainly because he can't pronounce it 👍
Lol! Dude. You have no idea how many times I had to watch Jason's flight talk video on the 1.5 to make sure I was pronouncing it right!
