Just got mine second hand, I must admit it a heavy climber, the slack angle makes the front tire rise sometimes on steep ascents. Maybe 20% harder to climb than my previous Cannondale Jekyll. But way more fun going down, well worth the extra effort.
Did they also update the tires? I really love the Butcher/Slaughter combo but they are a little bit narrow (especially for rims with an internal width of 30 mm).
Thx for the response! Did they mention which changes they made? Looks like the Butcher got a new tire compound called Gripton. I really hope the width got a little bit wider.
fair play, that x frame is amazing to look at. this years black and grey enduro comp in xl is still the best looking bike I've ever seen. shame it weighed 18 1/2 kg otherwise I'd be riding one now!
Wait what? That bike weighs 18,5Kg? I honesty expected a little more from a bike in that priceclass. My Propain Spindrift weighs like 14,3 Kg and its a 180mm coil sprung freeride bike. The lowest end version that you can buy of it is like 14,5 kg and 2200€ so thats a massive diffrence in weight and price. I feel like the prices of the big bike companies get less and less reasonable every year. Yes i am looking at you trek, specialized and yeti.
you're right, big companies are taking advantage of their customers these days. the enduro comp is the base level specialized enduro bike, but it's still £2,900. in the end I went for an XL Norco range A71. unbeatable spec for the price and 15kg.
My 2018 Enduro Comp 27.5 all aluminum rig w/ a set of Boomslang flats & Butcher Grid tires front and rear, weighs 14.469kg or 31.9lbs. Thought it would be heavier. My Pivot Mach 4 almost all carbon xc rig weighs in at 27.6lbs, thats 12.519kg. I love riding the Enduro!!
I would like to find out how much this bike weighs, this is a very important spec for some riders and I think it should be included in mor bike reviews.
Brad needs to talk to his rider care customer service line people. I called today and they said there's no change to the leverage rate in the 29er from 17 to 18.
Gotta watch out for rear shock getting loose ! Also it comes with a 30 tooth front ring! Too small Seat post good for a year/2000 miles Drivetrain about 800miles Comfortable in 40mph territory! Big old rotors stop well !!running SRAMs Aluminium cheaper and not creaking! DTSwiss wheels indestructible! The Pike awesome even after service Needs a coil rear shock especially with the 29 because of the speed you can carry on it without fear! Don’t think the expensive version is worth it . Better to keep you cash for a good hard tale for when the full sus is getting fixed.
When I see the seat post I wonder how long until it jams at an angle, or goes loose. A tool in the head tube? Hello over engineering. Edit: Nevermind, that junk is on the higher models. If you can afford it, you can afford someone to fix it for you.

I don't find much about the hidden SWAT tool on the Specialized homepage. Does anyone know if it comes in the Stumpjumper Comp Carbon as well?
Thanks for the video mate !
That's exactly what I was looking for !
What size eyelet hardware does the 2018 take? Trying to fit a float x2
Will they sell the wu dropper as an aftermarket part

It will be available late 2017. Pricing wasn't given.
Any chance of you getting hold of the new Whyte G170 and review it .. theres 0 reviews on You Tube of it in action..
Which is the lowest possible BB height (estimated) for a size M 29er?

Yes, it's been updated. You can see a photo of the new Butcher in our article: bit.ly/2018enduro

Increased reach gets the biggest "amen" from me, might actually get along with a specialized now.
Looks great, can decide between 29er and 27.5
when they flip the top cap, thats very smart
Is it press fit or threaded bottom bracket?
Threaded

Nick Mardi leverage rate? you are trying to hard, just fucking ride, god so gay.
Specialized has great concepts, always on top of the biking industry in all its disciplines.. Tough to keep up...
Well, if they can drop 2kg per bike so they are on par with the competition then sure.....
price? $
$2500
If you are buying this bike from specialized it will cost up to $6,500.
