    Awesome Job, I've seen so many people printing their own hard tops lately and all of them have been coming up with what i considered rather over complicated methods of attaching the panels together. The way you did it honestly seemed like a such a no brainer to me but I can't even lie, I never thought of it either. 😁

      Thanks! It saves a lot of material not having to print all the little clips to join each piece.

    if this was a water proof targa top, where the removable part is storable in the car, I would buy this now!

    Did you use the front strikers for the sides? I’m about to start assembling mine and I wasn’t sure what hardware I’d need to attach it to my Miata(NA)

    • @HutchinsRacing
      @HutchinsRacing  Год назад

      No the front strikers and latches are a little different than the side ones. It basically uses the same hardware as the oem hardtop. You can also use the mounts from 5x racing that weigh a lot less than the oem mounting hardware.

    • @HutchinsRacing
      @HutchinsRacing  Год назад

      I’ve never really understood the concept of the targa fastback on this car because your trunk space would be open to the interior.

      @@HutchinsRacing I personally wanted it so I can still drive with top down whilst having the rear portion on. This way it still retains some convertible aspect of it

    • @HutchinsRacing
      @HutchinsRacing  Год назад

      @@user-qn5yx6st9f sorry I was confusing a targa with a hatchback. Yes a targa would be sweet although I think it would weigh more since it has to have extra support where it detaches. My aim is as little weight as possible. It would be cool though.

    It looks amazing but i have one question
    Does it fit a NA miata?
    Im looking for a hardtop and my friend is selling his for 4000zł
    Wich is around 1k dollars
    So it would be a nice and unique money saver

    Cool tech, but not what I'd spend money on. Might be useful for making a fiberglass mold for making CF and FRP. Still seems easier to just build a buck tho.

    • @HutchinsRacing
      @HutchinsRacing  Год назад +2

      With a buck you are forced to make a mold and then the actual part. With this you can just lay some fiberglass on both sides and your done. No mold necessary.
