It is actually possible to completely uninstall glance on Xiaomi phones. All you have to do is go to Settings>Apps>Manage Apps>Wallpaper Carousel>Uninstall
This is such a great tip. But, I faced a strange behaviour. I have a 5 year old Poco F1 and I was able to uninstall it. The option too disappears from lock screen and lock screen settings. But on a newer Poco F1 (about 4 year old), searching for wallpaper carousel or anything related to it fetches empty result. I'm not sure if I have to enable it to uninstall it. Update: was able to do it in the other phone as well. When the search result does not show anything, there was something like "Show all results". On clicking that ,the wallpaper carousel was visible.

I disabled this glance thing on my sister's phone on the very first day using ADB. As I'm a pixel user I couldn't see her using the phone like this lol
Earlier Realme had a different lockscreen 'wallpaper' provider which was quite good and showed nice wallpapers. But later they changed to this glance, which is annoying, brings useless wallpapers, and can even show objectionable content sometimes.
You can disable glance in realme by doing so in the system apps folder in settings. Also, to remove it from the lockscreen, go to the home & lock screen settings and select the lock screen shortcut. There, you can reassign the swipe left gesture from glance to google assistant or turn it off completely.
im on realme UI 2.0, while disabling the glance like how you said works, it doesnt guarantee that will stay disabled cause on its official website it clearly states "If you swipe left on lock screen glance will get enabled" . Thats frustrating and only way to disable completely is by adb or through universal debloater app etc basically using adb/pc way.

Actually, switching this off here just works for a small while. After that, at some point, it reenables itself through some shady means. Once you're done disabling it in settings, through ADB from your laptop, uninstall the app. Forewarning: Uninstalling it from ADB before disabling it in settings doesn't work for some weird reason. Lockscreen still shows that nonsense Glance, at least on Vivo/iQOO phones. Being an Android lover, Glance is completely against user-experience and privacy.
You wanna know what's even more annoying? After every teensy "essential" update on these phones, all preferences are rolled back to default. Meaning all permissions from pre-installed spyware apps that you might've carefully gone through and denied, glance, etc. everything is set back to enabled. 👍

My roommate used to have glance enabled on his lockscreen and he didn't knew how to turn it off and was not aware that it is adware/bloatware. He used to think of it as a feature which is better than looking at one lockscreen only😂 When I explained about it and what it does to his phone he freaked out and asked me to disable it🤣
For realme even if the glance is turned off in settings, it won't be turned off permanently. So to turn off permanently I have done the following Go to settings -> Apps-> Apps Management -> Click on the three dots line in the upper right corner -> Show system -> Select glance for realme -> Disable Worked for me. No shortcuts are also displayed on the lockscreen. I think this might work for oppo also, name of the app will be changed.
Ya can relate to the relatives and friends part. Whenever someone asks me help in their phone, I as a added bonus block their glance, and everyone thanks me for it, no complains till today. Because many think that it couldn't even be disabled, which is the fun part.😂

I've learnt that buying a used/refurb older phone with good custom rom support is good enough for daily use. Like as long as you are willing to read instructions and have some base level computing knowledge that's the way to go. Better than dealing with the bloatware in the budget segment and even more expensive phones.
Yes it works. But with a single accidental swipe it comes back live. It would have been helpful if this video could show the way of disabling it permanently. Anyway, I've found it, and for those who are still struggling about this in Android 11, 12, 13, here's the solution: It's advisable first to turn the Glance option off as shown in this video and then follow the rest for finding the peace. 1. I have always disabled this spammy app in my realme X2 ever since I bought it 3 years ago. Still it is there, a swipe away to the right, in the lock screen, asking me to enable it. It was so much annoying that they used to play videos in the background 😂. The phone in my pocket automatically starts playing random ads even after locked. Ive disabled it long ago from some RUclips video.
The first thing after getting my phone was uninstalling every bloatware and even glance via adb. Now it is completely removed. Not even can be enabled again 😁 Anyways, its a great video because no one talks about it.
We can completely disable it on oppo and Realme...try these steps Settings>App management>click on 3 dots on the right corner then select show system apps> find glance> Disable...same goes to hot apps and browser and other bloatware apps.
Pro tip for miui users - The lower bottem left lotus widget can be replace plus glance can be uninstalled. Head to settings and uninstall *wallpaper carousel* app
To uninstall glance in miui (method) - (1)go to your setting. (2) then about phone. (3) select storage. (4) select app data. (4) find wallpaper corousal or glance for mi. (5) open the app and uninstall.
These are really annoying so the best way to remove this is if you have a laptop or PC just install adb and blotware remover, its very good, I have done this on my realme and now there is no lock screen glance thing. You're a lifesaver man. I was incredibly annoyed to find this feature turned on today after a particularly long day. Thankful that I found this video and the way to stop this bloatware, it reenabled every time I tried to stop it from running from the glance screen. I have used your tip to turn it off.
The easiest solution is, buy an older premium phone at a little extra price. E.g. buying a Galaxy s20 FE instead of latest M series or A series phone... I did the same. Bought galaxy note 10 lite, and it has almost no bloatware

If any realme user wishes to get rid of glance for once and all then just go to the theme store and set any theme that you like. Glance for realme will work only on the default theme. It won't run in a custom theme.
Even after disabling glance it shows on lockscreen asking to enable it. To completely make it disappear just change the theme. It worked for my realme gt neo 2 hope it works for everyone ✌️
I disabled it in my realme phone and it started to irritate me with pop-ups saying "turn on glace". after 10hrs i lost my patience and disabled it using adb command. now i'm at peace :)

FYI: Some Miui devices allow the uninstall of Glance for Mi. On my Mi 11x I uninstalled it from All Apps in settings on Miui 12.5.7. And on Miui 13 it was never there to begin with, it was replaced with Wallpaper Carousel which can also be uninstalled. Now when I swipe left the The Options for App Vault shows with a Torch Shortcut below that.

I actually knew about this a long time ago, I immediately turned it off when it automatically got activated. But currently even after turning it off, the most annoying thing is that it's right there on your lock screen, if you just swipe left.
In realme there is one more similar bullshit called "emergency call/ sos" which is same on lock screen and almost daily accidentally call to sos happens and that annoying ambulance type siren shouts from my Pocket !!!!

Thank God!!! Atleast you have addressed it... It's so annoying i am fed up with this glance screen on my phone "realme 🙃" but the thing is everytime i disable it i don't know how it manages to come back every time the phone goes on an update and it turns itself on i am so annoyed with it🤬
It was so much annoying that they used to play videos in the background 😂. The phone in my pocket automatically starts playing random ads even after locked. Ive disabled it long ago from some RUclips video.
The first thing after getting my phone was uninstalling every bloatware and even glance via adb. Now it is completely removed. Not even can be enabled again 😁
Anyways, its a great video because no one talks about it.
We can completely disable it on oppo and Realme...try these steps
Settings>App management>click on 3 dots on the right corner then select show system apps> find glance> Disable...same goes to hot apps and browser and other bloatware apps.
Pro tip for miui users -
The lower bottem left lotus widget can be replace plus glance can be uninstalled.
Head to settings and uninstall *wallpaper carousel* app
i buy new device but i got this types of garbage and android 13 is so irritating than older versions cause it doesn't have freedom like before 😷😭
To uninstall glance in miui (method) - (1)go to your setting. (2) then about phone. (3) select storage. (4) select app data. (4) find wallpaper corousal or glance for mi. (5) open the app and uninstall.

These are really annoying so the best way to remove this is if you have a laptop or PC just install adb and blotware remover, its very good, I have done this on my realme and now there is no lock screen glance thing. In realme - multiple times it appears again and again even after turning it off, hence I avoided realme phones now. Sorry but this irritates the most, Thanks Beebom for making this up.
You're a lifesaver man. I was incredibly annoyed to find this feature turned on today after a particularly long day. Thankful that I found this video and the way to stop this bloatware, it reenabled every time I tried to stop it from running from the glance screen. I have used your tip to turn it off.

It's disabled but the moment u swipe left on lockscreen in realme devices ,it comes back begging for activation
The easiest solution is, buy an older premium phone at a little extra price. E.g. buying a Galaxy s20 FE instead of latest M series or A series phone... I did the same. Bought galaxy note 10 lite, and it has almost no bloatware

my friend is using Vivo mobile from 4 years and he is disturb very very on this app and he did not know that how to stop it.

Edit- Please disable/uninstall SecurityAnalysis too to avoid annoying popup after any app install in realme.
If any realme user wishes to get rid of glance for once and all then just go to the theme store and set any theme that you like. Glance for realme will work only on the default theme. It won't run in a custom theme.
Even after disabling glance it shows on lockscreen asking to enable it. To completely make it disappear just change the theme. It worked for my realme gt neo 2 hope it works for everyone ✌️
As a samsung user, this is the first thing I did after getting the phome
I disabled it in my realme phone and it started to irritate me with pop-ups saying "turn on glace". after 10hrs i lost my patience and disabled it using adb command. now i'm at peace :)

this glance app exists since gionee era (no idea who started). whenever i get a new phone, my first work is to disable it
The most appropriate solution to almost all bloatware is stock android (Pixel, Nokia, Motorola, Nothing)
I am using OneUI 5, and the Glance is not there in services, infact, its not there on the phone at all :-)
I love Glance, no same old boring wallpapers on lock screen, glance saved me.

Haha, i disable this lock screen poster 1 year ago on my Vivo because it was so irritating function, but thanks to you, to know why this is important to disable :-)
FYI: Some Miui devices allow the uninstall of Glance for Mi. On my Mi 11x I uninstalled it from All Apps in settings on Miui 12.5.7. And on Miui 13 it was never there to begin with, it was replaced with Wallpaper Carousel which can also be uninstalled.
Now when I swipe left the The Options for App Vault shows with a Torch Shortcut below that.

Realme 7 user here and i already took care of the glance feature a few days later after i purchased it.
for all the phone in which glace pops up by swiping left or right even after turning it off 📴 you all need to find glace in all apps in settings by show system apps on and then disable it by selecting the app and you're all set 👌😇you will not see it anywhere now its all gone from your lock screen...😇
I actually knew about this a long time ago, I immediately turned it off when it automatically got activated.
But currently even after turning it off, the most annoying thing is that it's right there on your lock screen, if you just swipe left.

In realme there is one more similar bullshit called "emergency call/ sos" which is same on lock screen and almost daily accidentally call to sos happens and that annoying ambulance type siren shouts from my Pocket !!!!
Pixel Moto and sony are classic phones. Have been using since childhood.
Redmi Realme vivo.... whatever the specs.... they are far away which can give smooth UI or a pleasant experience.
