Singing this in december, and I got the sheet music 3 days before the first rehearsal, where we all are supposed to know the music beforehand. These videos have been incredibly helpful in learning the music during the short time I have in which to learn it - so thank you so much for posting them!
Esta es la cantata que me gusta más del Oratorio de Bach. El coro inicial es tan majestuoso, las trompetas ufff y el choro final, es demasiado intelecto y amor a Dios. Bach !!!!
Very nice and well done. Unfortunately the vertical windows are too narrow in the first I wish to have a vocal score scroll that runs in a separate window. It is very easy to synchronize manually.
Hello Gerubach. I have the video shared. First a question: This project of the Weihnachts - Oratorium is completed in a not long time. But the Matthäus - Passion takes about half an hour longer. But why it took longer than the Matthäus - Passion? Greetings from Martijn Pieterman.
Well, I'm not sure what you mean exactly with weird. They sing it very aggresively but the orchestra is great. Or do you mean theologicaly? That's the so-called Passion Choral (O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden from the Matt's Pash among others) and represents the cyclical nature of the church year- the end of Christmas is the beginning of Lent/Easter. Or it could be Jesus beating the bad guys with his sacrifice. By the way, did you every notice the opening chorus of St. Matt's is in e minor, but the cantus firmus Choral is in G Major? Hope in sorrow maybe? Pretty cool.
@@MrFetalposition It's weird because of the fast accompaniment with the slow chorale melody, I didn't hear that in many (or _any_) of Bach's chorales. Perhaps I just didn't hear all of them XD Yes, I did notice that. It is very peculiar
It’s slow because it’s a secret message.the chorale is all through the st Matthew’s passion, o Haupt voll Blut und Wunden, literally o head full of blood and wounds. It’s a reference to the crucifixion, the sufferings of Jesus, and the redemption of mankind. So, even though there is a joyous element to this finale, with the celebration of the birth of Jesus for Christians, and here the Epiphany with the gifts of the magi, the chorale is pointing out that all of this is really minor compared to the ultimate drama of the Christian story, which is, the passion, death and resurrection. The Easter story.
I used to love listening to Bach but hated singing it. Then I realized I am a mezzo soprano, and after years of hard work I finally am able to. And loving it! xxx
This is SO useful - and beautiful! Thank you so much for your work.

Muito bonito!! Brilhante ideia de colocar a grade junto ao áudio, acho que apreciamos muito melhor com a visão auxiliando a audição.

where is part 1?
Removed by youtube.
What part is the intro
It's from part 2.
That final chorale. It's so weird.
you misspelled "so good"
@@musik350 Good indeed!
The weird thing is that the choral melody is slow but the other stuff is fast and it's very trippy overall

I find Bach delightful to sing but not to listen to!
