When we listen to Mozart, we hear the angels sing. When we listen to Bach, God speaks to us.
Sono pienamente d'accordo!! Lo penso da sempre!!
Era un predicador
I also thought that Bach, who was a godly man and seemingly had ties to Christianity all his life, put his devotion and love for God in his works.
Obviously the lyrics are most of the time (with some exceptions) there to worship for God/Jesus, which is also because he worked for the church. Bach paved my way to God.
It is impossible to think that he was human when you study his works. The amount of grey matter that lies within anything he wrote is mind boggling. No composer in the past, présent, or future will ever compare to this extra-terrestrial.
@@Benjybass I agree with your last sentence.
If, one day, a superior civilization comes to earth, we will have the Bach works to prove the value of our world ...
LOL
Nice statement, Mozart works will be proof that humans also had some superior individuals.
o encuentran la sonda que esta por el cinturón de Kuiper. ¿Recuerdas que en esa sonda pusieron música de Bach, México, USA, etc?
No, you will be needing the music of the "Old Testament Composer" (aka J.S. Bach) and the music of the "New Testament Composer" (aka L.V. Beethoven) then through in a little bit of Mozart, Haydn and Czerny to spice things up a bit.
Bach was German - so which civilization is on earth superior?
I loved when Bach said " "
or when he said " "

@@beautifulhymnsonbudgetorga1585 The video clip is an art. Not some exact accout of the sequence of facts.
It's easy to get carried away with the theatrics and comedy of this video, but -- let's pay attention to the astonishing quality of this miraculous music! What a sublime melody! We're listening to a piece he probably sketched out in a single day as part of another weekly cantata cycle...and all while juggling the other weekly chores he had as cantor and music director over the other churches in Leipzig. People tend to forget that. A whole new cantata was required of him each week, all new choruses, recitatives, arias, duets, instrumental sinfonias, chorales, etc. For a man under that kind of pressure to consistently crank-out music of such stupendous, overarching sublimity almost borders on the supernatural.
In addition to being a husband and a father/tutor/teacher to his many children.

@@larryduncan4071 I do agree with you, and let me add that Love is the ultimate form of legality. Where is Love, there's compliance to God's law.
@@deodatosouza777 Yes, you are correct - but only if you mean "Love" as God defines and reveals it, as set forth and articulated in His Holy Word, the Bible...not from a human or worldly perspective, or how man erroneously defines, thinks, believes or equates love to be. Only *TRUE* Love as God has ordained it can comply with God's Law....for God *_IS_* Love. Thus, all genuine, lawful Love comes from Him, and only He can establish the perimeters of what authentic, God-birthed Love is and what it looks like.

👍 Sono d'accordo!!
Ach, ach , ach - der große Bach!
As musician and composer in both views hes like a god to me, and all other composers.
BACH - the best composer in the world....
Miraculous how the organ keeps on playing even when Bach is abandoning it. Now THAT is some masterful stuff!
I noticed it too. Every time time we watch a movie about classical music we can notice mistakes, but this one is big.
@@keplergso8369 That little story is adorable, though. Why all this criticism, the music is divine, her voice like a joyous angel‘s.
I dont hear any organ at this video
@@Reloaded10 It's a portative organ, very difficult to pick up with the ear especially with the flutes.
That is not an error! It's just the power of Beach Music!
One of life's pleasures is simply listening to Bach!
Funny, he hits that kid backhead like "You little bastard", and gives him credit like an old friend right away after for bringing that angelic voice of Magdalena.

Bach was a funny guy I guess 😂😂😂

Bach, Scarlatti and Händel,...all three were born in 1685
Very sweetly observed.......
Yes. In 1985 i I gave a concert here in Lund to honor all three at the same occasion.
Lodovico Giustini (the first piano composer in history) in 1685.
Then Scarlatti was second with his 30 "Essercizi per il Gravicembalo" ?
The Scarlatti’s essercizi were published in 1738, and were written for harpsichord (“per gravicembalo”).
The Giustini sonatas are from 1732: “Sonate da cimbalo di piano e forte detto volgarmente di martelletti”
Lovely swing to this Cantata. Nice to see JS Bach portrayed so accurately.
2:31, you have been approved by Bach
I simply can't stop watching this video
I love how from 4:47 the story is pure nostalgia about a time disappeared long ago and how we can connect with it through music.

Excellent! We classical musicians cannot figure out how to sell classical music and making it popular, this is a great example!
I am going to listen to this every day for the rest of my life.

Awesome: Magdalena Kozena portraits Anna Magdalena Bach!

To think that Bach was know more as a great instrumentalist than a composer is mind boggling! As he said “All music should be created for the Glory of God”

I love the depiction of BACH .
My other favorite moment was when the modern young lady put the copy of the music in the back pocket of her blue jeans. Absolutely a brilliantly created video .

I don't get the second part of this video. What is it supposed to mean? It's advertising something? Why this modern lady wanted the copy of the music?
What a sweet video! Clever idea!

Lovely recording of a beautiful voice. I haven’t heard this aria before. Another gem.
After the orchestra Musica Florea, playing on authentic instruments since 1992, in the Czech Republic, had finished the records of the new CD "Bach - Arias" with mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená in 1997, they made this short movie also that was broadcasted by the Czech TV between TV programmes instead of commercials. Magdalena Kozena started her singer career at that time.

I love this vid! I have had such a huge crush on that woman for years. So beautiful and the voice of an angel.
That is so beautiful, Bach never fails to fill me with wonder. I'm reminded of Lewis Thomas who was asked what music should be sent on the golden disc with the Voyager spacecraft, perhaps to be intercepted by aliens.
