The United States’ southern border with Mexico is 1,954 miles long, stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the tip of South Texas. Approximately 700 miles of that border have fencing in place. The fencing includes a steel fence varying in height between 18 and 27 feet (4.8 and 8.1 meters)
