Did you see my theory on the XY Trading Card Game Lore, I think bits of it could be present in Z-A
The Legendary Birds should have both X and Y forms. Mega Articuno X (Ice/Psychic), Mega Zapdos X (Electric/Fighting), Mega Moltres X (Fire/Dark). Secondary types are to reference their Galarian forms. Their Y Megas keep their types.

Zapdos doesn't need water moves if it got Drizzle, already has STAB Thunder and Hurricane that now cannot miss. Electric Surge would need the trio to shed their flying-type since the boost is applied to grounded attackers rather than grounded targets.
It also has access to weather ball which would turn in to water type as well.
Mega Zapdos with Drizzle could use Thunder for the 100% accuracy would be insane
Don't forget hurricane too
AND Weather Ball to smack the Ground-types hard.
Oh boy, as someone who knows a lot about competitive Pokémon, I got a good laugh at that ability choice.
Zapdos is a flying type, so as it’s not touching the ground it does not gain the buffs of electric terrain.
Also, Zapdos technically does learn a water move through weather ball in the rain lol.
Yup, just ask for Archaludon or any Water/Fighting mon's help if it wants to eliminate Ice types,Thunder Hurricane, & Rainy Weather Ball are all good, especially if Primals are included since they're just Megas for weather Restricteds.

First of all good idea but your forgetting some Pokémon with Flying or Levetaite which are unaffected Electric Terrain so Zapdos with With Electric Surge is not a good combo so Drizzle would be better and if I remember Zapdos can learn Hurricane as well.
So 2 Attacks with a Drizzle advantage.
If you think about it, electric terrain makes sense considering how what actually happens when lighting strikes the ground.
As others have pointed out, Zapdos having Electric Surge would be pointless as it is a Flying type and terrains only grant their effects to Pokémon that are on the ground. Zapdos would need to either lose its Flying type or have a different ability altogether.
I swear if they give Mega Zapdos a bigger beak im done 😂
Mega zapdos could get a signature ability that summons the rain and electric terrain (basically a thunderstorm) simultaneously, maybe call it something like stormbringer.
I think it'd be cool to give him the whole thunderstorm as it's ability
You know it honestly could be quite possible for the legendary birds to have a mega evolution. I mean, if anyone remembers “Pokémon 2000” but with a side of reverse engineering to the orbs/ treasures and BAM you got yourself a new form of mega evolution.
This goes for each bird of respectively but gives zap electric terrain and drizzle at the same time

One of my favorite things Pokémon has done is when we had the DLCs for Galar! Having to “chase” after the legendary birds regional forms to catch them, if they did that in new games it would be so much fun 🤟🙏

Make a new weather type that gives all the buffs of electric terrain, the rain buff of thunder guaranteed to hit and lastly make it possible for Pokémon that aren't touching the ground to be able to get the effects of it. Then call it Lightningstorm or something fitting.
I think a signature ability that summons both rain and electric surge simultaneously would be fitting. call it like stormcall
A Storm ability that summons the Rain and puts up a Tailwind-like effect would be sick
+electric terrain instead of winds

These are great ideas!
I would take it one step further and "follow the path" which was used for Paradox Pokemon. I would consider the aspect of Iron Valiant [or Astrabellum as I prefer naming it].
What does this mean ?
Iron Valiant is a quasi-legendary Fairy/Fighting type Paradox Pokemon which is "perceived" to be a brutal bloodthirsty fusion of Gallade and Gardevoir.
Kantonian Zapdos is an Electric/Flying type Pokemon while Galarian Zapdos is a Fighting/Flying type Pokemon.
For the Mega Evolution, I would "kill" the Flying-type and replace it with Fighting-type in order to present it as a merge of its two regional forms.
For ability, it COULD have Levitate or Swift Swim to be nimble.
It would be fitting if Zapdos acquired the move Bolt Beak in a future game, even if it only happened to Kantonian Zapdos.
For a hypothetical Mega Kantonian Zapdos, while I get the idea and benefits of it being a pure Electric type, I would keep it an Electric/Flying type and gift it the ability Electric Surge, Drizzle, or Lightning Rod. Other sufficient ideas for its ability are Motor Drive, Volt Absorb, Wind Power, Galvanize, or Electromorphosis.
It could be neat if they created new, buffed versions of the terrain-summoning abilities that allow the Pokémon to receive the benefits of terrain even if they are a Flying type or at least are not grounded.
In case you don't make a separate video for a Mega Galarian Zapdos concept, in addition to keeping it a Fighting/Flying type, I would give it the ability Scrappy, Tough Claws, Moxie, Defiant, Guts, Galvanize(as a connection to Kantonian Zapdos), Aerilate, or Speed Boost.
How about just pure electric with levitate? Megas are suppose to be broken after all. Plus him just casually floating above you spreading electricity everywhere would be cool
actually zapdos has access to weather ball, so drizzle would be actually insane for it

Zapdos and the other birds don't need a mega evolution. Give new mega evolution to pokemon with under 500 base stat totals. Those are the pokemon that need the power increase.

I have a little bit of a better idea. Why not give it a signature ability where lightning randomly strikes. Let's just call it "Storm" for now. It has a lower chance of hitting either Pokemon in battle. If it does hit a Pokemon, it has different abilities it can do. If it hits the Pokemon it's battling, it inflicts a complete paralysis for 3 turns. (So that way it can give it an advantage without being overpowered.) If it hits Zapdos, it gives Zapdos an automatic ONE HIT KO on the next turn. This way it gives Zapdos a way to stand out. Honestly, Articuno and Moltres stand out on their own for me so this would be an excellent way to make it stand out!

Zapdos does have water moves. It has weather ball, hidden power water and terra water.
3 Normal moves that are treated as if they were different types based on weather, ivs, or a sub-type. One of such no longer exist in current gen and is based strictly on IVs, one is based on a gimmick (otherwise pointless), and weather isn't gonna last the whole battle
