      You would think that a restaurant in Japan would have Japanese rock bands but the play list sounded like it was from a Chili's, TGI Friday's or some other chain restaurant here in the States.

    I have visited this chain in Tokyo and was bummed out that I did not remember exactly where it was or what the store was called.
    The atmosphere was great, and for some reason there was a lot of rock music playing in the restaurant which I really enjoyed.
    Very informative and well put together video!

    I am mostly just floored by how you eat your rice with a raw egg and it tasting good. You can do that?? Like, as in, it's safe enough to eat it? I've always been told to NEVER eat eggs raw or even semi-raw!

      I wouldn’t do it outside of Japan either! I don’t know exactly how they are different, but we say that eggs in Japan are safe to eat raw!
      At least I have been eating it since I was in elementary school, and I’m still very healthy so😊

    The computerised menu with language options is such a fantastic idea. I'm not sure I'm dealing with the idea of raw egg though. Isn't that a salmonella risk?

    • @OllamhDrab
      @OllamhDrab 3 года назад +1

      Not there, really they have different processing methods and much higher cleanliness standards over there, in part, I suppose, because raw eggs are part of the diet so much there. Here in the US it's not so advisable, of course, unless you go right to a small farm and otherwise take care.

    • @johnythepvpgod1470
      @johnythepvpgod1470 3 года назад

      Salmonella is only prevalent in old or dirty eggs, if the egg is fresh and clean there is little risk

    • @KahiraAmi
      @KahiraAmi 3 года назад

      Eggs are cleaned and stored differently in Japan. So don't worry, in Japan there is no risk of salmonella and it is completely normal there to eat raw eggs :)

    It's funny that while I've been listening to Japanese '80s city pop, Japanese people are apparently listening to American '80s music. And everything looks delicious, you are so fortunate to be able to eat at such a nice place. A similar style restaurant where I live would be too expensive for me.

    I loved discovering your videos, they are interesting and I love your honesty about your experiences. I've been to Japan four times now, twice for work (with some vacation after the second work trip), once to visit a friend who lives there and the most recent time was to visit my brother when he was working there. This video reminded me of getting yakiniku with my mom and brother in early 2020 when we visited Kagoshima. I really like yakiniku since you get a good variety of things; the soup, bowl of rice and in our case a salad bar which really complimented the meat we ate. And shochu of course! The sweet potato shochu from Satsuma tastes great. Keep up the good work!

    Japan is very high on the list of countries I'd like to visit. Has been since my early years. It's a country I view very favourably.
    Of course, the language barrier may be a bit of an issue, particularly outside of Tokyo and Kyoto and among those born before 1947. But although I speak very little Japanese, I have an extensive knowledge of the customs and etiquette of the country.

    I love the background music, Shogo-san, and not what I'd expect in Japan (I could see J-pop but wasn't expecting English lyrics.) Here in the states, it's not uncommon to go to a buffet alone, I assume it's less common to go to one of these alone. As years go by, I doubt I'll ever get to Japan, but it's nice to see places are popping up aimed at us single/less-social folk. And I never considered the social stigma of going alone. I'm quite comfortable in my American gluttony I don't think I'd have given it a second thought, lol.

    Man I would love to go eat Yakiniku again. We actually have Gyutaku here in Hawaii, however it’s not exactly the same as Japan. The meat is not quite as good. Japanese meat literally melts in your mouth. American Gyutaku meat is more like eating bite sized steak which isn’t bad, but Japanese meat is just at a different level of delicious.
