  • For the past few weeks I've been figuring out the basics of making a raincoat, a few days ago I made a sample jacket and now I'm ready to get sewing on the actual coat itself. This week I focused on sewing the outer shell.

    This looks like something I could try. And try again.I’m thinking of going for a plastic instead of waxing.
    Maybe I’m just new to this and very ignorant but I was thinking plastic on the outside for water and some thin yet absorbent material on the inside for comfort.
    Awesome video definitely subscribed now

    Cool pattern on the sample jacket fabric

    @artyomsherwin648 3 года назад +1

    You could try a seam sealant to prevent water from coming in through the seams. If the fabric itself lets water through, that might not work, but for tent sheets it has worked fine for me.

    • @CorneliusQuiring
      @CorneliusQuiring  3 года назад +1

      I had someone else recommend this as well so I ended up getting some. I didn't end up using it though because the fabric itself isn't waterproof.
      I am happy to hear it worked out for you and your tent though!

    Corn, oh how I laughed at your modelling the white hoodie. It did make me wonder if the Secret Services have been in contact to offer you an undercover post!
    There's one sure thing, your not a quitter, and so honest, as we wouldn't have known you'd attacked the hoodie 5 times 😳😯😖
    A thought, why is your kangaroo pouch quite high up on the front 🤔, not a criticism as such 🤐🙄 my boys hoodies have them just above the waistband, filled with rubbish 🙉 as well as cold hands 👨‍🚀🙌
    Despite my little ? I'm very impressed, and love your problem solving and dedication to your art 😉

      Well thank you. Honesty is always the best approach, right? None of us are perfect so I like to show people the mistakes I make or show the struggles I go through.
      I also felt like the pouch pocket was a bit high and your comment is confirmation so I will probably lower it by a couple inches.
      Thank you as always for watching and your thorough comments.

    • @CorneliusQuiring
      @CorneliusQuiring  5 лет назад +2

      I used a standard cotton twill / canvas type fabric. The kind you sometimes make Chino pants out of.
