can someone help, the bit in audio devices that says: usb headset (Turtle beach elite 800 chat) is greyed out and the headset doesn’t work.
Now what happens when you hear audio, but the mic stops working and going into the settings and it does not show up as an option?? I cant unselect tv or amplifier because itz an only optjon. T.beach wont show up at all... it was there at original setup... but now nothing. I have to use the camera mic to speak into... instead of the headset mic. Again..after reset even, no option to choose from but audio still plays
Anyone know why i only get the 5.1 surround option even though its advertised as 7.1. I used the tutorial in the video.

So i hear just fine but mic wont work! Any ideas? Did hard reset, bootloader reset. But still no mic. If i hook up the cable from headset to controller it works fine. PLEASE HELP! Spent 350 on a useless hradset!!
Is it supposed to sound like its baseboosted tho?? I'm using mine for gaming and it's hard because it sounds baseboosted and not too sure how to make it not like that...

I just got this headset and while playing music on my phone is fine, gameplay audio from my ps4 is trash. It's really low and has zero bass. I tried increasing the volume and changing the mixers on the app and on the headset itself, but no dice. I notice that both the chat audio buttons on the right earcup and the chat audio slider on the app increases the volume, but only to a certain extent. I was told that this headset is supposed to be really really loud. I looked it up and people are saying to put the audio setting on ps4 to "Chat audio" instead of "all audio" but all that does is mute the audio entirely. What is going on?

Yes. Turns out you need to plug in the optical cord it comes with. I thought that it was optional, but it turns out you need to plug it in to experience the headset at all. If you have a PS4 slim which does not have the port, plug it into your TV instead.
RuTube even with the optical plugged into the ps4 my headset sounds so bad like zero Bass choppy an so quiet have u found any solution.. I had 800 for my xbox1 and they sounded å million times better😢😤

I'm connecting the Elite 800X I use for my Xbox One X to the PS4, optical audio cable and micro-USB from the transmitter to the PS4 and I'm still getting sound out of my TV, wanting to set it up so that I can switch between them any time but my headset isn't showing up in the audio devices menu; I'm getting sound through the headset but not able to use it as my microphone or anything like that. Hoping I won't have to get the Playstation version of this headset.

The headset supports DTS then why the heck do people set it to Dolby in the PS4 audio sertings???
I believe because it's not true Dolby, I'm sure there's a full tech explanation on the Turtle Beach website.
I ended up returning the Turtule Beach Elite 800 and never gonna buy a headset again. You simply can't get deep cinema like bass and deep spatial sound. You need a subwoofer. I bought the Trust Byron with 120 Watt.
I was suprised how deep the bass was and how clear the speakers were. This was even better than Logitechs most expansive speaker. The watt is very important. And can't get this quality from Turtle Beach headsets. And it's half the price of their high-end headset.

I did exactly what u did but my problem is that I can't use the headset without the audio coming out of the T.V. If I choose the output to be the elite headset then I cant hear anything. Note that My ps4 is updated to the latest version. Please helllppp
turn the sound down on your TV. It does come out of both dude unfortunately.

It’s because I had a ps4 slim sooo yea it didn’t work
my elite 800 were working fine however since getting the pro the other night they stopped working I have updated software etc etc and nothing the pro detects the turtle beach headset but I get No sound?
The headset works fine pairing with my phone so not the headset ,And my settings have changed back and forth ,Will try and pair headset to dock and then try it again tonight very frustrating as my warranty is just up :(

It was my base box I Re set everything and then paired headset to base station then it worked fine

I have done all the steps (and tried consulting the manual if i missed anything ) but nothing is helping.
No audio goes into the headphones and the microphone doesn't work.
I tried digital in and out.
Turned it off and on again.
Made sure it was charged and paired

Have you switched the MIC on? There's a button on the headset that mutes and unmutes the MIC.

oh you need to use pairing mode/bluetooth (sync button in back of transmitter and hold power long time on headphones to pair)

raphaellus I can't seem to figure it out still. Nothing is popping up input device
should my ps4 settings automatically change to show turtle beach elite in the input and output device after setting it up? because I have everything connected but it doesn't show usb headset (turtle beach elite 800 chat) on either input or output instead it shows headset connected to controller. but I do have everything working but the chat is extremely low and I can't adjust it at all.
I think you need to pair with the receiver.

Do I have to leave the Optical plugged in? Cause if I unplugged it doesn't work. Plus it doesn't appear in my Audio Devices and I have tried everything! and nothing! I can hear the game but won't let me speak.

Ahh. Mine wasn't the same problem as I had a pair of Astro a50 prior so all the settings are all the same so I don't know why mine wasn't working

if you plug the PS4 into the elgato.. then I. the PS4 setting you put the audio device to TV or amplifier.. instead of the headset. you will be able to here the party chat.. BUT. you won't be able to control the chat and game volume separate anymore.. I'm trying to figure out how to keep the headset the same as it is. with the elgato outputting the party chat as well

I'm buying the New astro A40 TR Version. you can plug the new mixamp they have up to the computer with a "Stream output" it has and that will play all of the volume you hear through it to the computer. Meaning game chat party chat and mic. then astro has a new command center that you can open up on the PC and edit how loud each thing is that goes to your headset, and to the computer input.
I don't own an xbox unfortunately mate, sorry.
