    I've watched many tone demo videos of guitars and pickups... but I like what this guy playing the most. simple but very clear to catch what the tones are really like. This is what I call the DEMO. 👍👍👍👏👏👏 60 and 70 feels good to me.

    For some reason to me it feels like it's more muffled than it should be I don't know if I would say it's the pickups though.

    I prefer the 63
    Although for the dirty it’s a bit tight between the 63 and the 70

    Hey man great playing! may I have your advice... playing for 45 years now with similar technique and style, just that stuck at the Knopfler/Gilmour domain. What would you suggest me to learn to be able to improvise the way you do? I'm really clueless when it comes to this. Thanks!

      None of the Suhr single coil pickups are noiseless but they have the SSCII dummy coil added in the guitar that takes out all the noise.

      @@tonezone4745 It might be my speakers but I liked the V6olp . I heard more articulation. If you have time to answer sometime what are your thoughts v60 neck and middle an a SSV hum in the bridge. I play country rock and classic rock rhythm guitar , some leads. I had the Martin landaus and thought they were just o.k. What I liked about your Demos is that you played almost the same thing CLEAN. It was great. Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts. Aloha.

    I recently picked up a Suhr Classic Antique SSS with 3 ML Standards. I already have one Classic Antique with 3 V63’s and another with HSS of Thornbucker and 2 ML std. I wanted to make this one a little different. I also have a bunch of loose Suhr pickups may go with either SSS with V60LP Hot bridge or HSS with another Thornbucker, but which neck and middle? V63? V60? V60LP? Combo of???
    Thanks!

    • @helixworld
      @helixworld 3 года назад

      I'd suggest V63 neck and middle to match the V60LP bridge. For HSS the ML standard will work well, as you would know. The V60 vintage wind are also warm enough to work in HSS config and sound a bit more vintage than the ML. With either of ML or V60, it helps to use a 510k load resistor to switch across the volume control.

    • @jazzercaster4749
      @jazzercaster4749 Год назад

      @@helixworld what does the 510k load resistor do?

    • @helixworld
      @helixworld Год назад

      @@jazzercaster4749 It lowers the total resistance. So when it combined with 500k control pots, it will sound more like a stratocaster using 250k pots. Lower load resistance filters the high frequencies, so the single coils sound like they should and not too thin.

  • @honderib

    IMHO you should stack all neck pu's after eachother, then all mid pu's etc and play the same (short) phrase so one can really compare. For me this comparison does not add much value because the interval between comparable pu's is way too large. But thanks for the time and effort, production quality is super smooth.

      @honderib Год назад

      @@melodicolatino You are absolutely right, and now that I read it the complete description he also states it in the timeline. But I'm afraid this is a bit how it works, you are plowing through a whole list of video's to find a decent comparison and one lacks the time to do an in-depth exegesis of each video.
