It's about the story in this song. This is Totally Lynyrd Skynyrd. Great song based on a true story and a little bit comical.
I did a Skynyrd tour with Gene Odom last year. He was the band’s security manager and Ronnie Van Zant’s best childhood friend. It’s a true story, and I actually went to the bar where this happened. It was called Westside Tavern, at the time, but has been renamed The Jug after this song came out.
Didn't know it was a true story, but I'm not surprised. Pretty cool they renamed the bar because of this song.
I have a friend who's Skynyrd's drum tech. He said they still draw a big crowd at the shows.
LYNYRD SKYNYRD is definitive southern rock !!
CALL ME THE BREEZE.
TUESDAYS GONE.
Great song!! Anything from Lynrd Skynrd I love! Thanks for playing this awesome song!!
I love the awesome, stomping bass line in this one. One of my favorite Skynyrd songs, along with 'Ballad of Curtis Lowe,' and 'Call Me the Breeze.'
Great southern rock band from the 60's-80's. It is very sad what happened to this band in losing so many members in a plane crash. My favorite songs are "Simple Man", "Free Bird" & "Sweet Home Alabama". They had lots of great songs such as "Call Me The Breeze", "Tuesday's Gone", "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew", "What's Your Name", "That Smell" etc.
They’re still great, they’re doing their farewell tour now.
Just saw them July 9th. Great show. RiP the lost members.
I’m a little too young to have seen the original members, but I saw one of the first shows when they started touring again in 1987. Shoreline Amphitheater, Alan Collins was rolled out and gave his speech, and Carlos Santana walked on stage and played a couple songs with them. I’ve seen them again in ‘96, ‘16, and ‘21. Always great shows.
@@truckinfool3550 gonna see Santana next week. He is touring with Earth Wind and Fire. I'm so lucky I work for a concert venue.
The immortal Lynyrd Skynyrd. Great, funny true song.
But a knife not a .44,....
Lynyrd Skynyrd is every mans' band and Ronnie (R.I.P.) is every mans' lead singer.
This is GREAT song. This song is hilarious 🤣🤣. This song was a HIT!!
Anything Lynard Skynard does is great. Thanks for the reaction 😎
One of my favorite dance rock songs! Chod and Dee, I wish you could have experienced the 70s as I did!
Yes! This and The Breeze are my favs….everyone loves Freebird, right. ❤️🎼❤️🤘😎
Fact is, this is a hugely beloved Skynyrd song and is great Live,as well....Pretty funny to hear your reaction....
This tune is classic Skynyrd. Just like any band worth a shit their catalog will vary.
It' amazing that they wrote most of these songs when they were teenagers this one is while at a gig they were having a break and Ronnie VanZant was dancing with a girl when her boyfriend came in and was jealous and think this band was turned down by every label company until Al Cooper from blood, sweat, and tears heard them and formed a label co. called Songs of the South and signed them I'm grateful to have seen them a number of times from original on up
Classic 70's power guitar power! I really like this song but it's been classic Skynyrd with me forever. My favorite is The Needle and the Spoon. Many close seconds. Enjoyed hearing it with you today!!
Their live album One More from the Road is one of the first three albums I bought, when I was a kid in 1982.
It is!
Me too Awesome Album
Loving the Gypsy look girl... Always working it.
Wearing that bandana she looks like she could be at a Skynrd concert
Reportedly, this actually happened to Ronnie Van Zant(RIP)
This song is all about the comedy.
It;s a great sing-along song simple and fun, one of those song everyone in the bar can sing along with. Enjoy
Line dancing
You did some pretty good drumming on the intro of this video. I play drums, guitar, and bass-guitar myself. And I appreciate it when others play those instruments well.
🎶 saved my life
I think you’re talking about line dancing.
Line dancing...very fun.Did not have line dancing when this song came out.Good observation.
Great reaction 👍
You guys are awesome,
Skynyrd is an epic band. In my opinion, top 10 rock band all time.
A very funny, but yet true story.
Much love Chod & Dee!! You hafta check out "I Need You", great bluesy vibe, think you'll like it. ✌️ ☮️🎼🎶🎸🎵
This be Southern Rock, and it's very bluesy. You here the call and answer on the guitar. A few of these died in a plane crash btw
If y'all were paying any attention to the lyrics you'd realize how great and comical this song really is. One of my favorites growing up.
Tuesday's gone is a must hear.
Yes it sounds like Skynrd
Back in the 70s went down to Corpus Christi to a bar called Lonesome Coyote Saloon on Lepard Dr... hahahaaa!!!!
It is 'Line Dancing' you are thinking of!
True southern rock. But you must react to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man", to hear their diversity from great southern rock to a deeply touching song that hits home.
Just pure R&R
sounds like skynyrd to me i been listening to this song for over 40 years
I agree with your comments
It's called The Two Step btw
Texas two-step
True stories are the best songs
I like your Gentle Giant shirt!
This is a 10 for sure
This song is all about the story ...
--don't be dancing with another man's girl. And the best part, guys saves yourselves .. threes steps and show me that door!! hehehe 😂
Story behind the song, gotta listen to the words, it's a good fun tune 🎶
All music by Lynyrd Skynyrd is inspired by god there's a song for everybody god bless
Southern rock at its best.
One of the funniest songs ever!
If you want to know about Skynyrd there is a vh1 behind the music about them that tells the story before and after the plane crash.
Good song. My favorites are Tuesday's gone with the wind and Curtis Lowe.
LS, Doobie Brothers, Alabama, Grand Funk Railroad are country rock bands and have about 8 regular members and many more temps for concerts and session work
It's the lynyrd skynyrd call me the breeze lynyrd skynyrd
can you do a reaction to I Need You by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Things Going On
2 step !
The only song they did that I actually like just because it is funny.
☮️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎵🎶🎵🎶...😎 Excuse me!
They were probably dancing the Two Step.
Line Dancerin' is what it's called.
It's jauntier than a lot of Skynyrd and also very funny. Plus, it punctures any notions that rock means macho. The guy pisses himself out of fear in the middle of a dance floor and then goes tearing for the exit. Listen again with the lyrics. I love this song. Certainly more than That Smell or Gimme Back My Bullets.
You should really give Dave matthews band another reaction.
If I were you, I’d listen to the song “grey street”.
I seen that good looking girl and I hit the lock button now commented I hit the like button and
BUCK OWENS .. the Bakersfield sound
Lynyrd skynyrd traveling man traveling man that's a song skynyrd
Check out “Saturday Night Special” or “Needle and the spoon” or “On the hunt”by Lynyrd Skynyrd, their old school Skynyrd and what you’re looking for Chod🥁🎸🔥💣👍🏽
Two Step
You may be thinking of the two step. AKA Texas two step
Line dancing, I believe is what you were looking for. This is just a fun song. Not every song can be Simple Man or That Smell.
Ronnie Van Zant didn't say gimme 3 steps he said I'm walkin' out your either gonna shoot me in my Ass or in my Elbows. True Story.
Southern Rock.
You need to listen to The Ballad of Curtis Lowe by Lynard Skynard
PLEASE watch the live version of this from knebworth. It’s awesome
Do "Curtis Loew" great song
Were you referring to Line Dancing possibly?
Try some Leon Russell. Girl From the North Country, Live at Filmore East. Great keys
These lyrics are supposed to make you laugh.
Check out Call Me The Breeze, by Skynyrd. Great tune. You will like it.
That song isn't as intense as some of their other tunes, it's more upbeat and fun. Always a crowd pleaser.
Based on on true story.
Southern Rock!
Give a listen to " The Breeze"
It's just a funny song with a good guitar
I Need You, On The Hunt.
Texas Two-Step? 🤔🤓
Are you thinking of Line Dancing?
It’s cause there’s no Ed King. He developed their sound, but Gary Rossington didn’t get along with him, so had him fired
I am a fan of studio versions of songs, almost without exception. This is one of the exceptions. The live version of this song on the album, "One More from the Road", is actually better than this studio version. The studio version sounds flat with little to no energy in the performance. The live version is great. I really can't think of another example, except maybe Free Bird. The studio version is excellent, but it fades out. The live version comes to a climactic end. LS was just an amazing live band. Were about ten weeks away from the forty fifth anniversary of their plane crash, or two score and five as Lincoln would have said.
Really. The only thing that saved so many is the one thing that caused the others to die, empty fuel tank. No fuel,no fire. All deaths caused by impact.
How TF do you get square dance from this?
I think you're thinking of line dancing
Similar to "Uneasy Rider" from Charlie Daniels.
I MEAN THEY WERE JUST A GREAT SOUTHERN ROCK BAND YOU GUYS!😊 BUT THE ORIGINAL 4 WERE GONE AFTER THAT TRAGIC PLANE CRASH 🙃 AND THE LAST ALBUM THEY HAD DONE WAS ( STREET SURVIVORS ) WHAT'S YOUR NAME, THAT SMELL, AND A GREAT JAM : I KNOW A LITTLE 😊 AND 5 YEARS EARLIER STUFF : GIMME BACK MY BULLETS, SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL, WORKIN FOR MCA TAKE GOOD CARE YOU GUYS
Ronnie Van Zant was the only original who died in the plane crash.
@Bob Delp The original 4 were NOT gone after the crash. Ronnie Van Zant was killed in the crash. He fronted & started the band. The other 2 band members killed in the crash were Steve Gaines, guitarist who came on board around 1976 & his sister Cassie Gaines who was one of the Honkettes which I believe were added in around late 1975/1976. The other guy killed was Dean Kilpatrick the road manager. And the 2 pilots died on impact. That was it.
Wait a minute mister I didn’t even kiss her 🔥
You might be thinking of line dancing
First, you’re on crack, this slaps! Check out Mississippi Kid if you want some nasty Delta blues
2 stepping or line dancing
Line Dancing.
One of few bands with a 'guitar section' ie....3 or more guitars full time.
I would like to see a reaction to 'Poison Whiskey' from Lynyrd Skynyrd.
This was one of their biggest hits. On the radio.
People would pack the dance floor with this one but ya I got pretty tired of it.
Buck Owen’s
This was not an epic song, you're right, but it got everybody out on the floor dancing.Lynard was a club band first.
Sorry guys...I don't agree, this is the "typical" Skynyrd song, 'cause of the music and 'cause of the lyrics.....tales & rock'n'roll & irony !!!
This is Skynnard at it's best. Tells a good story. Free Bird is the worst of their music. Overwrought and over long.
