GREAT VIEW OF THE OCEAN, BEAUTIFUL WATER COLOR!
The Sea of Cortez is a beautiful sight. Some of those campsites have a great view. Thanks for checking out the video. If you haven't, I hope I earn your subscription. It helps my little channel get my videos shown. Take it easy, Joe
I haven’t even finished watching the video and I already love it! Keep up the good work Joe!
Thanks brother. A great part of Baja. Worth heading south out of San Felipe and taking a look
@@EagerExpat we are thinking taking a trip down to Puertocitos. At least the roads are better. military check points still around?
Yes same as usual. I did a checkpoint video. Its all routine. Have a great trip
OMG! There is a asphalt road to Puertocitos. I haven't been down there in years. I used to travel down a wicked, bumpy dirt road from San Felipe all the way to Puertocits in the 60s and 70s. I would drive another six miles past Puertocitos to a nice little beach. There was only a couple of houses & a restaurant. The hot springs was free. It was at least a three hour drive with a couple flat tires on the way down. Miserable, hot & dusty. But it was worth the trip. Fond memories.
Yes the road is better paved than many streets in San Diego. I remember those dirt roads into the early 90's. Thanks for watching. Joe
Great work as always Joe. Keep up the great work. Semper Fi
Thanks. Great part of Baja. It's probably 115 today, but that's ok.
another great video, i go to san felipe many times especially during race season, baja 250
Me too. I didn't make the 250 or 400 this year, but I was at the 1000 last Nov. I have a video up from Ojo Negros safety crossing. Take it easy. Joe
Mexican Car Insurance is very important. I'm an affiliate for a great company in San Diego. Check out my link to Baja bound below. You can find a great policy using my link, at no extra cost to you. Below is a link to my video on how important it is to drive in Mexico with the proper insurance policy.

Nice clip enjoyed watching.
Thanks for watching Andrew
i like that you really show us the driving conditions. Thank you.
Thanks for the nice comment. Hopefully a few people might be encouraged to drive down. Baja is always a good time.
Wow paved road. Last time i was there it was all dirt road. RIP Panama Jay.
Some of it is paved. I still managed to get stuck in the sand. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this!
Sure thing!
Another good video, Joe... Is that a boat on a roof? Looks like it. (I almost got robbed yesterday! I was swimming at the marina, next to the naval complex, and had my shirt and keys on the beach, and a thief made a move to take my shit! I was able to swim fast back to the beach and intercept him. But he almost took my car keys, which would really suck here in SF.) Take care, and thanks for the video.
p.s. great job getting out of that sand trap!
p.p.s. Joe, was that little campsite you checked out after you got stuck primarily populated with Americans? And how full was it? Thanks.
Sorry about the thief. He probably wouldn't got far with the car, but that would still be a hassle. The camp where I got got stuck was in Puertocito's. It's the same beach with the drone footage. A few campers, but it seemed empty. That road is usually hard packed dirt. Like a dummy, I drove through the sand that has blown (probably) for months. The other camp at the end was in between San Felipe and Puertocito's. I'd guess 40 houses and trailers. I think they have a Facebook page. Dozens of camps down that way. Similar to Pete's Camp near town
Oh ya, that was a Panga on the roof. Maybe his lucky boat
Love the video, always entertaining. How are the summers there? Looks hot
Thanks for the nice comment. Yes it's hot and dry. Compare to Vegas or Phoenix. It does get windy in the afternoon. That helps cool the area down. The good news is, when there's snow on the ground in the US, its 70 degrees near San Felipe.
I'm moving to Thailand next year. Hot and humid. Hot and dry may be preferred.
Joe, I came across your channel a few months ago. Great work and analysis. I use your videos as a scouting report for my weekend trips to Mexico.
Quick question on San Felipe hotels. If I’m going during the week nowadays (during covid) am I ok rolling into town with no reservation and just walking into the places a few blocks from the malecón, or should I reserve online? It seems that the cheaper places aren’t online.
By the way this was a great video. I did the drive last month. There are beautiful islands off the coast around Puertocitos!!
Thanks! I’m looking forward to next video!!
Thanks for the nice comment. 99% of the time I just drive in without a plan. Even on the weekend. Enjoy the trip. If you drive from San Felipe to Ensenada, watch the potholes. The road is in bad shape. At least it was a month ago. Hopefully repaved soon
Thanks!!
@@AM-sd3cl The shrimp fest in Nov, maybe the Baja 250, 500, 1000 bring large crowds. Even then, I've found a room. The cost goes from $30 to $80 on busy race weekends but its not a problem. During the week isn't much of a problem. Check out Caribe or Captains. The Don Jesus in my video is 5 min walk away. Its basic, has a window AC but its usually less than $40. Small pool too. Drive around for a half hour and check out a few places. Have a great trip. Joe
I have to drive all the way to Lapaz this year and my number 1 concern is finding a motel to spend the night. It seems that there are a lot of camping sites but I don't see any motels. Do any of the campsites offer small rooms that you can rent for the night?
There are a hundred $15 to $30 motels in La Paz. You can find $80 to $150 hotels on Expedia or Hotel.com. One of my other La Paz videos shows the Hyatt Place in La Paz. I usually stay there
Another really good video. This channel is a hidden gem for sure.
Thanks for checking it out. I'm grateful to just pass 1000 subscribers. Next year I retire to Thailand. I'll have more time to travel and make more videos. Take it easy, Joe
@@EagerExpat Awesome! Looking forward to those Thailand videos. It’s a country I’m quite interested in.
@@jakepaulpound-for-pound9418 Thailand is great. Affordable like Baja but Bangkok is like a New York City vibe. Drive 2 hours and take a ferry to a tropical island. I hope to get some nice footage.
@@EagerExpat I have a question about Tijuana. Any gastroenterologist you recommend! I have some heartburn problems. If you got any info. Would like to get some lab work done maybe. 😐
