    I think you missed the most important discovery of your experiment. In all of your test it took more hits after each blood loss event to proc the next, 16 - 24 - 36 ect ect. Well in your very last test, you proc the 1st blood loss event with 3 hits, so one would assume the next blood loss would take around 5 hits or so, well, you proc the 2nd event in only 3 hits again! Meaning the more arcane on blood affinity weapons means less hits to proc blood loss AND it takes the same amount of hits to proc afterwards. That is a HUGE discovery. Thanks!

    The hits actually depend on the amount of blood loss the weapon has in it. The nagakibe with seppuku the blood loss is at 75 or 80.
    When the blades are coated, every two hits will proc the bleed until you hit the 3rd proc. Then it’s like 4 hits.
    So you’re definitely right about your info but it just depends on the amount of blood loss the weapon has.

    One other important factor of bleed builds is the incantation bloodflame blade. That incantation actually prevents the invisible bleed meter from depleting. Allowing the player to play a tiny bit more defensively but you still need yo keep attacking for that de-buff on the enemy to remain there.

  • @bigfitts
    @bigfitts 2 года назад +9

    Hey I've been doing some research on my own after watching your video. Arcane increases the bleed build up if the weapon has a built-in bleed build up or if you turn it into a bleed weapon. As far as blood loss it does get stronger is 5 times the damage of a regular attack. When blood loss activates. Going off your damage numbers The Shield was doing 50 and when blood loss kicked in it did 300. 50+250.

    • @HESADOGWHAT

      Blood scaling (the number next to ur blood loss buildup text) is affected by Arcane and will ONLY go up if the weapon has arcane scaling.
      Blood Loss (or hemorrage in Elden Ring) is damage based on the targets max HP

    • @phynamite9
      @phynamite9 2 года назад

      @@HESADOGWHAT how does this translate in terms of build up on a weapon, like Uchi starts at 45 blood, hook claws at 60, does that mean the hook claws could build faster and cause the 10% damage proc sooner, or what does that number affect, as it changes with Blood Ash and or Incantaions etc.

    • @Benjamin-kl7ge
      @Benjamin-kl7ge 2 года назад +2

      @@phynamite9 Yes. The number is a quantity of bleed build applied per hit minus the 'damage reduction' from resistance. So a 99 bleed weapon against 9 bleed resist would give 90% bleed on the first attack. Enemies who survive then appear to get +50% base resistance so that 9 would become a 13.5 bleed resist. Though im not sure if the code is as simple as (BLEED-RESIST=BUILDUP) because then 40 resist would make enemies immune to most bleed weapons.
      That said, the video missed something. Blood based ashes of war give arcane scaling to the weapon and then the SKILL seems to scale off arcane. Needs tested.

    You should note that the weapon only needs to have arcane scaling, so for example if you have a innate bleed weapon like the uchigatana and then infuse it with arcane it will increase its bleed buildup in addition to increasing its damage by a fair bit, so using bleed affinity isn't needed.
    I for example am running a arcane build with base reqs and 22 faith and 45 arcane and im using 2 scavengers curved swords with occult affinity and the seppuku weapon art and those deal some good base damage aswell as some crazy buildup

    The blood will take the remaining health from the target though, it doesn’t just go from 317 down to 266 etc for no reason and it’s based on the % Hp of the target. A higher health target taking an extra let’s say 10% blood dmg could yield 100+ dmg in a single hit which is significant, esp over time on top of faster bleed proc. Combine that in pvp and you see people bleed in 2-3 hits with combo proc for over 1k. The big lesson here is to understand diminishing returns on arcane than anything imo

    This is a guess based o how I have seen weapons that have Arc scaling and an innate blood effect in them, example, Reduvia and Eleonora’s.
    Arc may not effectively affect the damage associated to it, but the speed in which it builds up, and the amount is a percentage, of course if the enemy is killed with the blood loose then the damage done will be whatever is the remaining health within his pool.

      Both deal % dmg but cold does less, or at least it looks like it
      Cold slows down the enemy by a bit and (supposedly) lowers their resistances, i suspect the slow doesnt work on some bosses, most likely main bosses
      Overall, frost is something you will proc 1 time while bleed multiple times, due to the bleed lowering over time and you not causing as much bleed, if you arent keeping pressure on the enemy then frost will most likely be a downgrade in terms of dps

    I've played through the game with an dex/arcane bleed build dual wielding blood aspected Nagakiba and Uchigatana. Perfectly viable and even advantageous for certain fights. Obviously, other fights not so much as some enemies/bosses are immune to bleed, but the Bloody Slash weapon art can more than make up for it in these fights. Long range, high damage, and only a bit of a wind-up. There's even some bosses that have weak points that are difficult to get at that I can ignore for less vulnerable places that aren't as difficult or dangerous to hit, because bleed stacks regardless of where you hit. It can even stack through shield hits. All of this is on top of the normal weapon damage you'd get from having high Dex and Arcane.
    Also, Rivers of Blood has a lower base bleed than even a normal Uchigatana or Nagakiba. I have 30 Arcane and both have ~85 bleed and they aren't even max upgrade yet.

    8:50 is interesting 2nd bleed also only took 3 hits, it didn't go up, maybe there is a minimum number of hits? Since the buildup is so high. Also it seems like bleed is hardcapped at 50% damage on normal enemies and probably like 15% on boss. The damage was the same from 57>74 50% on both. While 50>57% was 33% and 50% respectively.

    arcane is just like strenght or dex a modifier for your weapons scaling. if you can find a weapon with rly good A arcane scaling. you'd level arcane instead of str or dex. For example. Dragon communion seal levels with arcane. Other Seals level with faith. This the dmg you deal off of your incarnations would be directly bound to your arcane. I think bleed dex weapons with high arcane scaling and maybe a few scarlet rot incarnations and dragon incarnations can be very strong . just as strong as we know that magic is. I mean. has anyone rly tried going 60 arcane and a fully leveled dragon seal and cast fire breath on a boss just to see how much it will melt them ? ^^

  • @brutalspeedster8090

    Nice test, but i think you got the wrong assumption with arcane. Let me explain.
    Test No1 was 224 dmg, with 8 arcane on character, and the shield had no attribute scaling on arcane.
    Test No2 was 251 dmg, with 99 arcane on character, and the shield had no attribute scaling with arcane.
    Test No3 was 314 dmg, with 8 arcane on character, and the shield had attribute scaling "D" on arcane.
    Test No4 was 327 dmg, with 99 arcane on character, and the shield had attribute scaling "D" on arcane.
    I'm counting only 1st proc, cause every time you had the 2nd proc the enemy didnt have enough HP left to show a greater number. It was dying with second bleed proc.
    The actual blood loss from each 1st proc was not the same. Between test 1-3 and 2-4, It was almost 100 more dmg with a D attribute scaling shield, on a 600hp max health enemy its a big difference.
    So, not only higher number to proc bleed on passives, but if it was a weapon/shield upgraded enough to scale arcane with something higher, like A or maybe S, on arcane it would do way more dmg per bleed proc. So, if someone wants higher bleed numbers, they should try for a high scaling, arcane attribute bleed weapon. Dex and Str scaling weapons, are only raising the pure dmg per hit.
    Great video, thanks for your time spending to make it, really helped to understand a bit more on the game mechanics !
    P.S. I'm not suggesting to invest heavy on arcane on a character just for bleed, cause Its true that if you fight something that does not bleed, you need another weapon to kill it, and those points in arcane would be worthless when fighting that other enemy....
