    The Rdunae 6105 is the closest in spec with the original - All you need to do is swap the dial on that one - That's my plan. Good video

    Put it in a mug with hot water. If you use a small mug and put it round the sides it should bend to the shape of your wrist..Nice job by the way!

    Great video. A few years back I mod’ed a Heimdallr into a true Willard + all of the Uncle Seiko straps. I usually rock the Chocolate Bar for movie originality.

    I bought the 383 Dark Depth 3 days ago and in 72hrs on and off the wrist it has only gained 8 seconds. Apart from the bracelet which I must admit could be improved in quality, it is very comfortable to wear. I forget its on my wrist until i look at it. I honestly can not fault this watch for the price point.

    Nice build but in all honesty, should have just bought the Rdunae R2X. It's got the 19mm lug width you want, the crown is at 4.0 and its not got Seiko written on it. If you want to change the dial to a Seiko with Automatic below the logo, then Seikosis do a dial for it. Saves messing around with the crown stem lenght too..Super comfortable watch and looks as good as the original.

      What is the point in buying when the whole idea was to build one. Btw the case and the strap are from the Rdunae

    For a quality chocolate strap check uncle seiko. This for me is the best aftermarket alternative

    Uncle Straps sells a very good 19 mm chocolate bar rubber strap for $40.

    Please do a comparison with the RDUNAE R2X. That's the best Willard homage I'm aware of.
    By the way RDUNAE is an abbreviation for the (Latin?) Roma Die Uno Non Aedificata Est: Rome wasn't built in a day: Great things require patience and effort.

    I bought 2 waffle straps from the US and maybe after 3 yrs the band cracked in two. And the 2nd one after a couple of weeks. I think they need to be sprayed with silicone periodically. I would not buy again.😅 Just a heads up, but they we’re flexible.

    Thanks forn sharing. Do you believe it is possible to fit a nh34 in that case?

    • @Heikos-Watches
      @Heikos-Watches  6 месяцев назад

      Absolutely. The size of the movement is identical.

  • @Th3IronBull
    @Th3IronBull 4 месяца назад +1

    Must the movement crown be strictly 4.1? or does the 3 works also? Since we just need to align it at the 12 oclock when we insert the hands, we can just tilt it down

    • @Heikos-Watches
      @Heikos-Watches  4 месяца назад +1

      It has to do with the type of dial attachment. If you use a movement that is made for 3 o'clock crown and stick into a 4 o'clock crown case the dial attachment pins/holes won't line up. I think that is the only reason, don't quote me on this.

    • @Th3IronBull
      @Th3IronBull 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Heikos-Watches ohhh make sense. May I also ask for this build are you using also a 4.1 crown movement? according to the link provided on the description, looks like a 3.0 crown movement.

    Hey, thanks a lot for the video. The end result looks awesome.
    Is the build quality of this better than the Steeldive version of this watch? Because, to be fair, although both options are MUCH cheaper than the actual 6105, the Steeldive can be gotten for $80-100 while building this with each individual part would cost a little over $200 (with shipping) for me.
    I've also read of stories where people got the Steeldive then just replaced the dial with the one you used. That's possible, right?
    Any advice would be appreciated!

    • @xMeatMusket
      @xMeatMusket 11 месяцев назад +1

      I own a Steeldive SD1970. The Steeldive uses the same movement as the build in the video, so it will run the same. SD also uses a steel case, ceramic bezel, and sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside. If you're just looking for a willard imitation that runs really well, the SD is the much better deal. If you want something you can customize, Heiko's instructions are great, and you can get different case colors, dials, hands, etc. And yeah, you can take apart the SD watch and replace the dial if you really wanted to.

    Nice build. My Seiko has the 6R movement. Its a low amplitude inaccurate movement IMHO. Your 4R should work much better. When I opened my new modern Seiko Willard it said Made in china on the rotor!

    • @Heikos-Watches
      @Heikos-Watches  11 месяцев назад

      That must have been disheartening. Which version of modern Willard did you get?

    • @camarocarl7130
      @camarocarl7130 11 месяцев назад

      SPB151J1 from ST Watch Limited in Hong Kong via ebay. It was running slow so I removed the case back to regulate. Found 'Made In China" on the rotor. Not a very accurate movement with very low amplitude to enable a 70 hour power reserve but a nice watch. Disappointed it was not made in Japan. I don't recommend the 6R movement. @@Heikos-Watches

    Some thing is off about the case. It's not Rectangula's case

    • @matthewmcdonald8624

      it's looks like it's made in the same factory as the rdunae case, but the shape is nicer, because the top crown guard is wider. it looks like the rdunae has crown at 4pm, and this case has crown at 4.1. The store has another version of case with the skinny top crown guard as well.

    Another, "look how you can mod a watch, it's easy and cheap", and then you say/show nothing about getting it to be dive/waterproofed again.. obviously you either don't worry about getting it wet again or you pay a watch repairer to do it....

    • @Heikos-Watches
      @Heikos-Watches  9 месяцев назад

      Obviously you didn't watch the video. I didn't mod a watch. I assembled a watch out of brand new parts that were never assembled before.
