Hi, don't know if you can help, got a NH36-3.8 crown, but can't find a dial 33.5 mm, do you think you can help ?

I like this watch design, I would love a version of it with the flieger type B dial on a GMT. Is that movement a ronda 515.24H?

Don’t talk to me about the rabbit hole, I few years ago got my first automatic watch, using just the smallest screwdriver I already had I adjusted the bracelet, got another watch few weeks ago and it uses the spliced pin on the bracelet and just today I got the tool to adjust it. Instead of just buying a R$ 8 tool, I got a R$ 50 toolkit and other things to enjoy the free shipping from Aliexpress (my justification to buy a few things instead of just what a needed was “everything I purchased cost less the just one item on my local market/Brazil).

How about a video about modding this watch? Maybe a different case or just a different color? I’m impressed that the plastic hold that long, back in the 90~2000 I had to switch bands every 2 years or so on my last Casio. That’s why I prefer my watch on a bracelet, a few years ago I got tired of replacing batteries and got an automatic (NH35 for the win), but a few weeks ago I got a GMT from Addiesdive, sadly isn’t a NH34 (would be too expensive for me, since above $50 I would have to pay 92% in import taxes) and now I’m back on swapping batteries with this (Ronda 515.24H) quartz movement. Or I’ll just go back to the automatic, I prefer the “airking” dial of my pagani PD-1692 but my V1 have almost no lume at all when the Addiesdive have a great lume.

On some watches after swapping the battery you need to short a thing (usually have a mark on it) so it can start. Edit: You found it 16:37 👏

Must the movement crown be strictly 4.1? or does the 3 works also? Since we just need to align it at the 12 oclock when we insert the hands, we can just tilt it down

Another, "look how you can mod a watch, it's easy and cheap", and then you say/show nothing about getting it to be dive/waterproofed again.. obviously you either don't worry about getting it wet again or you pay a watch repairer to do it....

Nice build but in all honesty, should have just bought the Rdunae R2X. It's got the 19mm lug width you want, the crown is at 4.0 and its not got Seiko written on it. If you want to change the dial to a Seiko with Automatic below the logo, then Seikosis do a dial for it. Saves messing around with the crown stem lenght too..Super comfortable watch and looks as good as the original.

The Rdunae 6105 is the closest in spec with the original - All you need to do is swap the dial on that one - That's my plan. Good video

I bought 2 waffle straps from the US and maybe after 3 yrs the band cracked in two. And the 2nd one after a couple of weeks. I think they need to be sprayed with silicone periodically. I would not buy again.😅 Just a heads up, but they we’re flexible.

A big thank you here for making this video, as although I already own an SKX007, you've created a beautiful watch that's improved on the original and inspired me to make my own homage, not only because it'll have the (better looking in my view) brushed titanium case, but also because it'll have the NH36 movement. My parts are on order now - thanks again! UPDATE: I've now assembled my watch, the titanium case is well-finished and looks good, plus with a green dial from the same supplier I think the finished watch looks better to my eyes than my SKX007. The biggest improvement however, is the NH36A movement as it hacks and can be wound. All in all, it's shown me that it's not too difficult to make yourself an SKX007 homage that you'd prefer. Some would argue it's better to use a sterile non Seiko branded dial and I can understand that view, but as I'm not going to sell it and it looks better... Anyway, thanks again for your video!

I've got three of these Marlin Duros, they're a true bargain - and a watch that even watch snobs like! It's possible I've been lucky with mine, but everything lines up perfectly and all three keep very good time. I've changed the straps on mine to FKM rubber ones as the original strap was uncomfortable for me, but apart from that, the only change I anticipate making in the future will be to a double-domed sapphire AR-coated crystal as soon as the original mineral glass one gets scratched. You're right to say get one before they're gone, the marlin models are already a classic.

Uncle Straps sells a very good 19 mm chocolate bar rubber strap for $40.

Please do a comparison with the RDUNAE R2X. That's the best Willard homage I'm aware of. By the way RDUNAE is an abbreviation for the (Latin?) Roma Die Uno Non Aedificata Est: Rome wasn't built in a day: Great things require patience and effort.

Hey, thanks a lot for the video. The end result looks awesome. Is the build quality of this better than the Steeldive version of this watch? Because, to be fair, although both options are MUCH cheaper than the actual 6105, the Steeldive can be gotten for $80-100 while building this with each individual part would cost a little over $200 (with shipping) for me. I've also read of stories where people got the Steeldive then just replaced the dial with the one you used. That's possible, right? Any advice would be appreciated!

Quick question, your dial has SEIKO on it, but the dial on aliexpress does not (show this) did the dial have SEIKO on it when it arrived or did you stick that on? Great video by the way, I have always wanted an SKX 077 and if I have to make my own, so be it :) I am going to start buying the parts now you have provided a part list. I think I will stick with the black dial for that classic SKX look :) Thank you.

Nice build. My Seiko has the 6R movement. Its a low amplitude inaccurate movement IMHO. Your 4R should work much better. When I opened my new modern Seiko Willard it said Made in china on the rotor!

Does the bezel use Click Spring as Seiko?

Put it in a mug with hot water. If you use a small mug and put it round the sides it should bend to the shape of your wrist..Nice job by the way!

Great video. A few years back I mod’ed a Heimdallr into a true Willard + all of the Uncle Seiko straps. I usually rock the Chocolate Bar for movie originality.

I bought the 383 Dark Depth 3 days ago and in 72hrs on and off the wrist it has only gained 8 seconds. Apart from the bracelet which I must admit could be improved in quality, it is very comfortable to wear. I forget its on my wrist until i look at it. I honestly can not fault this watch for the price point.

For a quality chocolate strap check uncle seiko. This for me is the best aftermarket alternative
