I just love how both the real doctor and the ganger has an instant connection and trust in each other, meanwhile for all the human/ganger pairings almost immediately start trying to kill each other.
He, and by extension both of them, have experienced basically this exact situation a few time before, so it's allot less of an identity crisis. Also the doctor being much older than basically anyone there in addition to having had about 12 different faces and personalities at this point would have a much stronger sense of self. So yeah, evil clone thing probably just doesn't work on him
@@adamj.mc.3078 well to be fair the ganger copies the original and humans are scared of copies replacing originals thus their reaction to a copy is kill it before it kills me so the copies thoughts are hell kill me if I don't kill him first. The Doctor doesn't think like that thus no issue.
I mean he meets himself semi regularly so...
IIRC the Gangers have a pseudo telepathic link with their human counterpart. Humans, especially of this time, generally don't have much experience with telepathic bonds, whereas the Doctor lived most of his life with some kind of very loose telepathic field in the background to most of his race, which has been absent for the past few centuries of his life. He's not just trusting of his duplicate, he's practically giddy at having the telepathic link.
@@Great_Olaf5 that is an interesting way to see it.
The Doctor synchronizing with his ganger is both funny and heartwarming.
Which epsido is that

Well, Ponds do that as well.

i love how the ganger doctor automatically trusts the real doctor because he knows exactly how the doctor feels about gangers
I wonder what it would have been like if The Doctor could have kept himself and been his own companion?
+Gizmogirl192
Eventually, he'd realize that it was a bad idea, specifically when he goes too far.
The doctor would always agree with himself. His companion is needed as much as the tardis to keep him grounded and stable in his actions. Look at some of the things Capaldi's doctor would've done if not for Clara.
Gizmogirl192 oh man I don't think that reality can't handle 2 11th Doctors at once
Well, he'd only have to spend 2 1/4 billion years inside the Confession Dial....
That'd be a great way to start off the next season. We see a Matt Smith ganger encounter the new Doctor and they travel together for a season.
You tell the Ganger is still "learning." He asks questions, like, "do we say yowzer?" and he figures things out, like, "that's... sarcasm." Plus the shoes, Doctor had to change his shoes.
Except they switched shoes
@@hiskeruxmusic3668 They probably switched after this scene though.
@@MaccamatBux "Rory and Amy, they might not trust us..."

I think the “yowzer” thing was him trying not to be odd like 11, despite them basically being the same character
@@hiskeruxmusic3668 I'd imagine they switched after this scene because this would be the establishing which is which so that when they did switch the Doctors clone would be trusted as the actual Doctor

And that's why you never have to clone the Eleventh Doctor, because he would only enjoy it and make everything even more confusing.

"How accurate are you?"
Matt Smith is an amazing actor, i mean, being able to act against himself in such perfection is amazing, not only here, but in Nightmare in silver too
and to help his brilliant performance during the shooting matt had two doubles. one body double for the sight connection and one voice double for a better audio recording !
Yeh this was back when they chose the new doctor based off ability and not gender, skin colour, sexual preference
0:55 I can't put into words how much I love the synchronization of them waking at the same time.
It's the little bob they both do before moving that gets me. Adorable.
Reminds me of those two police officers from tintin
*Spoils* I adored how well the concept og gangers played out in that season. From Amy thinking theyre inhuman and fake, to finding out she was one herself. The entire time the doctor expressing how theyre still human made sense from the very beginning of the season only to play an somewhat integral role in the end of the season. Gushing over.
I really wish Tenth and the Meta-Crisis Tenth would've had a scene like this.
I like how you're on every video I watch
Yeah but they establish that they’re very different because one is human and one is time Lord
@@mortalmooshroom Exactly. All of the Donna parts got mixed up in there
@@mortalmooshroom I'd argue that they're both Timelord. In an earlier scene, one of the flesh die, and the Doctor yelled at them saying, "you stopped their heart! .. a living, human heart!"
Could that mean that the flesh Doctor has two beating hearts? Could this flesh have its own regeneration cycle? This being near the end of the 13th regeneration, could the flesh become the valeyard
@@worthlessfools1
Too much extrapolation on a statement that could be supported by many ideas.
For example, a part-time-lord may have the knowledge of a time-lord and forget that he himself or she herself is not genetically a time-lord. So no, the "human-Doctor" or chimera is likely not a time-lord internally but is a timelord by memory.
It's interesting that the Ganger is still learning, but still knows to tell Amy to "Breathe." It shows it's been on The Doctor's mind a lot
only amy hears the doctors tell her to breathe because they arent, she is in labor while her mind is controlling a duplicant
0:57 luv that little dip😆
There were two Tens AND two Elevens where are they selling these I would like to buy them
olivia32557 Here am i waiting for two twelves
+magna-ryu Technically we got billions of 12s in Heaven Sent.
Um, not quite. Time lords can only do that within the first 15 hours of a regeneration, and to get the other Doctor he had to regenerate again and have the hand within reach. In other words, you gotta use two consecutive regenerations correctly
But only one alive
@Daydreamermagicgirl Oliveri saaammmmeee!
Now now Doctor, what have I told you about talking yourself? Last time that happened, a volcano erupted.

+Giggity Goo The Fires of Pompeii.
BHarribo When did he "talk to himself" ?
its a reference to when Capaldi was a character in that episode. BHarribo means when the 10th talked to his future self, the 12th
Joshua San Diego Ah...
"We have no time"
"We make time"
I loved that
Is it just me or, the reason why Amy felt the connection with the ganger doctor is because shes a ganger herself?
yeah that was the exact reason
OMG, that's horribly sad but also perfect :-(
The doctor's shoes were melted in a previous scene, which is why he had to resort to spare ones. The ganger, however, emerged with the original shoes. The Doctor knew Amy would notice, so they switched shoes right at the beginning to throw her off.
Huh. Clever.
Fucking Spoilers. 😂❤️
What i love about this is how different the doctor treats his clone to how he treats a different regeration.
*Therapist:* "It's not healthy to talk to yourself..."
*Doctor:* "Sorry, who's the real doctor here? ALSO, too late for that advice..."

Moments when the Doctors synchronize is always great. For a brief moment in Day of the Doctor, War, 10 and 11 are one mind and it doesn’t matter which of them is saying the sentence because it is coming from The Doctor.
LOL, only the doctor would get along so well with his own copy(his ego just love the thought of being with someone who think alike)
I just realized both the doctors saying "BREATH" was them giving instructions to Amy, just like how at the end of the episode The Flesh Doctor tells her to "push, but only when the woman tells you to"

Depends, do you see Missy?
are you thinking what im thinking?
inevitably
It really shows how damage and disconnected The Doctor is when a Ganger gains all his memories and immediately wants to save everyone instead of killing The Doctor like every other Ganger are trying to do.
The Doctor was not born a good man, but instead forged through fire that’ll mentally devastate anyone not strong enough. As for anyone who could handle all those memories they put rules in place to protect everyone and ensures that the monsters don’t topple good on any day.
Well the difference with the doctor's ganger and all the others ones is the doctor is already used to becoming another person so having another of himself around isn't a problem. ESPECIALLY when it is himself.
I just love that synchronised skip forward!
"Isn't that what you're thinking?"
"Yes, it's just so inspiring to hear me say it!"
I'm dead...
Oh man, that “breath!” From both of the doctors. Oooohhh that’s good
It ties in to the fact that ganger Amy keeps having visions of the real Amy going through the birthing process...

Ooh yes! It's wonderful ^-^
Best part about these episodes.
I'm sure everyone can agree on that.
just my opinion. but every episode with more than 1 doctor is absolute brilliant
Unironically, this exchange pretty much exactly maps out my first week of University, where I met a guy practically identical to myself, no relation, history or anything, just practically the same person.
Turns out, you can skip the "takes years to develop deep emotional friendship" part when you're practically the same person.
It genuinely confuses people so much when we're both talking to them.
"Oh this is how it all ends, pond flirting with herself." Wait...
The title “Two Doctors better than One”. I’d say “Great minds think alike” instead.
Ganger: Cybermats
Doctor:why are you talking about cybermats?
Ganger: well they're turning up in a couple of episodes time, best the viewers learn now
Doctor: oh yes. James Corden. worst episode ever. Can we skip that one?
Ganger: you know some things are inevitable. Cordens massive ego must be taken down a peg or two.
I dunno, I really liked the episodes James was in.
... "Do we tend to say Yowzah?" XD
Forget my previous comment about me hating the episode. I actually re-watched the episodes and they were better than I remembered. Pretty solid story.
Petition for Doctor Who to make a spin-off series with the Metacrisis Doctor and the Doctorganger (Doctor Doppleganger)
That god River wasn't in this episode. Two Doctors at once. Now there's a spoiler and a half...
Amy: Great, exactly what we need, two Doctor's flirting with each other.
LOL....two doctors are better than one, they twice the fun, ask anyone, two doctor are better than one.
Sorry could not help myself, but himym fans will get it :D
actually 5 times the doctor is so much more fun sorry but classic doctor who has me covered here.
Unagi88 Two beavers are better than one!
I wish there would be a side series where these two doctors became companions
I love this is basically just like the doctor, meeting a future or past regeneration of himself and really isn't bothered by another clone of himself.
I love the outro with the 11th doctor
"Are there any guns around?" 'Yeah, guns would be good right now.'
**Chibnall screeches in the distance**
So, am I the only one who'd love to see (or hear) the Ganger Doctor meet the Meta-crisis Doctor?
"You know, I'm really starting to get a sense of how… impressive it is to hang out with me."
"Do you always say 'yowza'?"
Seems like someone took the term "Video Description" a bit too literarlly.
Matt Smith is so brilliant acting off himself here.
'It's just so _inspiring_ to hear me say it!' 'Heh I know!'
Two matt Smith's is something i didn't know i needed
Well, this moment was quite a breather in these two nightmare fueling episodes.
Forget the Weeping Angels, this was truly terrifying.
+Trenchtie You know what my favorite horror moment was? When Jennifer turned into fricking Imhotep from The Mummy and ate Buzzer! That was insane!
This was such a golden era
I loved this episode for so many reasons and Matt Smith was positively brilliant as the Doctor!
Well as 10 said to Jack "the only man you'd ever be happy with"
This was such a great episode and it led into one of the best of 11's run, "A Good Man Goes to War" seeing all his friends and allies and even a few enemies unite to save Amy was just amazing.
So this is how it all ends, Doctor flirting with Doctor, true love at last
*Okay. Well, I'm glad you've solved the problem of confusing* 😂😂 caught me off guard 😂😂
Voldemorts sisters and brothers the ones in the helmets and spacesuits I think
Reverse the Jelly Baby of the Neutron flow!
Kind of wish they kept this cloned doctor and brought Tennants clone back too. Could do such a good spin off with the cloned Tennnant and Matt Smith Doctor on their own adventures in a brand new ship of some kind. Could of been a lot of fun and could of opened up a bigger world of Doctor Who. Could have also brought back the Doctor's Daughter. Its a real shame how She has been forgotten when Tennants blood was extracted to make a younger version of Himself. So many oppertunities I think have been missed unfortunately.
I think this is where Doctor Who needs modernising. A lot of TV shows have now got expanding universes/shows. Walking Dead has 2 spin offs, Star Wars and Marvel have TV show spin offs. I think it be an amazing idea if Doctor Who did spin offs as well (aside from the Sarah Jane Chronicles which can easily be forgotten for some)
14th Doctor: well yes but also no.
"...do we tend to say yowzer?"
"That's enough, let it go...K? We're under stress"
"Yowzah! an escape route."
- "Do we tend to say Yowzah?"
- - "That's enough. Let it go okay... we're under stress..."
The Doctor realising he's a fool moments after saying/doing something foolish is the greatest :')
This episode raised so many interesting issues, and then it all went to hell.
I wish violence weren't so often the answer. The questions are much more interesting.
I have a theory.
What if! The doctor from the Pompeii episode (capaldi) was actually the doctor after settling down. If these two doctors are the same then the other can regenerate right? So what if he regenerated and went to Pompeii?? (He's the doctor he can make a time machine using a kettle and a stick)
So therefor the doctor got his 12th face because he was inspired, by himself?
UniversalMinerHD that's good but he saw the face of calpadi and used it for his regeneration
A bootstrap paradox i suppose
I don't think that's possible because they'd be interfering within their own time stream which the Doctor doesn't like to do.
What’s better than 1 of 11? 2 of them. What a blast!!!
Two Doctors? At the same time?
Ok, I don't know if it was River, Jack or whoever, but somebody's had their Christmas list read.
Wont lie ive watched doctor who many many times over.. but seeing this im now finding that episode to watch again
"so what now doctor?"
"time to get craking doctor."
their moves after that makes me laugh my ass off lol
We need to make it a thing for every doctor having double each incarnation
We kinda had one for Tom
We had one for David
And we had one for Matt
Lol let's get one for Jodie so that side of the fandom is even more pissed
in a novel called second life ranker, the mc eventually goes through a trial of sorts where he enters a room and it causes him to meet multiple versions of himself and i'm pretty sure they numbered in the hundreds, anyway this is something that apparently everyone in this world does if they make it this far and the tricky thing is that no one knows who's the real them, anyway the MC doesn't kill his other selves, they start comparing themselves in ways and weeding out the "weaker" versions of themselves by committing suicide after finding out who's closer to the original until only 2 are left and they both don't give a frick who walks out, only that the more superior version does, so the actual MC was one of the final 2 but its never stated if he actually got replaced cause they set that chapter up to display that the MC thinks that the most capable version of himself should be the one to continue existing.
pretty sure matt smith's doctor is the main person to blame for my modern taste in men

So glad Doctor clone isn't like humans, always fighting each other, Great mind indeed
the doctors remind me of all mischievous twins in history... for example; the ouran high school host club twins, fred and george from harry potter
Oookay. I'm not entirely sure which one's which, but I'm thinking that the one on the left is the ganger. This is based on the fact that in the earlier shot, we saw the ganger behind and to the left of the original. If this is the case, then the shoe swap happened between the initial shot and the one with them standing side by side. Then, the original pretends to be slow at grasping Amy's sarcasm to make it seem like he's the ganger. The ganger Doctor (wearing the replacement shoes) moves in to find the escape route then says Yowza! (with the original correcting him).
The other option is that the one on the left is the original. Then the shoe swap happened after this scene. The ganger is actually slow at grasping Amy's sarcasm (or maybe he's just being sarcastic himself). The original Doctor moves in to find the escape route then says Yowza! for no particular reason. Although note that Amy does find the phrase odd, so it could just be a means of confusing Amy? But why try to confuse Amy if the shoe swap hasn't happened yet?
So putting everything together, it seems to me like the first option is more likely, based both on their positions before they stood next to each other, as well as their interactions.
I love the outro!
