  • In this video, Pete demonstrates how to publish a Content Center family that has multiple values that end users can manipulate. In this case, we'll modify a simple plate, but this could be extended to even more values, if needed.

Hi, thanks for the video. Is the Content Center family automatically updated after created a custom member?

William good morning! Can you please clarify the question? Are you asking about placing a custom part from the content center, like a length of structural steel? If so, those parts are not connected to the Content Center after placement and are independent parts.
If you're asking about adding a new row to an existing table, then yes, you should be able to place that newly added row the next time you launch the "Place from Content Center" command. If it doesn't work right away, please close and reopen Inventor.
If this isn't what you are trying to do, please respond and we'll go from there. Thanks for reaching out and have a most blessed day!

@@Team-D3 Hello, I'm asking about allowing custom values for user, with content center with custom "length" example.
If the user creates a new custom variation of a pipe length, shouldn't it be added to CC table?

I have a library with more than 5000 variation of pipe lengths, performance is too bad. This number will get bigger and bigger with time.
I'm considering to split this CC with length limits: from 0 to 2000 one table, from 2001 to 4000 other table and so on...

William, thanks for clarifying. No, you do not have to add each custom length to the table. You can choose to place each of these lengths as a "Standard" version CC Part and then if a person happens to place that same size again, then it would simply pull from the already placed version.
One can also place these as "Custom" parts and then they could be saved to a specific job and would be fully editable. In this case, you wouldn't need to add these rows to the CC table.
Hope this helps and please send along any other questions! Have an awesome and most blessed day!

I wouldn't worry about adding the additional lengths to the table, unless there are features that need to adapt to the various lengths (mostly turning them on or off). If features are required, iLogic can also be utilized inside of CC families, so long as one knows what they are doing and doesn't try to control the same value with iLogic and in the table... Please see my AU class that covers some of this, from a couple of years ago. Thanks for reaching out and have a most blessed day!

So glad you guys turned the volume down of the intro "boom". That was seriously annoying.

Yeah, sorry about some of those older videos. We've started to try to go back and adjust the intro volume to those other videos, but haven't gotten it figured out yet...
