I am Psychiatic mental Nurse Practitioner in the 🇺🇸. After watching this video, the wife gave a vivid description of the effects of alcohol in the family. Effects of alcoholism is universal. It’s impact the person suffering, the family and financial. The man needs help. The wife and the entire family need help. The family needs to support the man in his recovery and that is the only way he can recover not by throwing stones. Alcoholism is a disease. DSM 5 diagnosis for severe alcoholism is F10.20. This man and entire family needs help. Remember one common behavior with alcoholics is DENIAL

This case is very touching. Both the plaintiff and the defendant have their points but I have the opinion that Yemi's wife's parents are unduly intruding in the marriage and oppressing Yemi because of their contacts with the law enforcement agencies. All the same, I respect the judgement of the judge.

All you calling her mother-in-law, no mother will watch her child going through distress for quite a time & will keep acting dumb. Remember she stayed with the husband's family for 4 years before they packed out. So when did her mother start interfering? Right from the start? The man should work on his alcoholic & anger issues while both work together to limit the interference of in-laws.

Brother I feel your pain, I refused to be controled by my mother inlaw. This is almost the same thing I have been facing since I got married in 2017 n divorced in 2018. My marriage life was hell because of my mother inlaw. Third party in marriage is hell. Since 2018 I have been denied access to my beautiful twins because I couldn't go on with the marriage and file for divorced. Wise word having a good mother in law is better than having a bad wife. The truth shall overcome always. I wish we have platform's like this in Gambia where Divorced rate is high n most are cause because of mother-in-law interference. Beating a woman is not an excuse as well we should protect them and if we can't be together in peace after million times trying separation is the way.

Bringing up kids in such a toxic environment can be damaging to them. This is a sad case caused by alcohol abuse, interference from third parties, anger issues etc. Good thing they’re no longer together, they both need to seek therapy. Sadly there are so many damaged souls roaming around the streets. Lastly, those kids need counselling because I’m sure they’ve witnessed so much abuse. Such a shame

What if the man successfully works on his problem of alcoholism and anger and they see a marriage counsellor who succesfully resolves their issues and move far from their parents? Dont you think they may still have a chance to live peacefully? They seem to still have some love for each other from their body language. Divorce is not the best option for the children....

  • @Xorta2004

An extremely fair and intuitive judge based on experience in life and law. Marriages don’t have to always have a resolution but the children’s welfare is paramount. The couple still require counselling on how best to communicate moving forward so that the children of different sexes still learn about conflict management and have poor views of relationships.

The alcohol addiction might be spiritual. I'll counsel he goes for deliverance, and start listening to messages of Apostles Arome Osayi and Joshua Selman. This is a very serious matter but the Judge did a very good job. I guess the man needs some help. If he can heal from alcohol, he will be a very good father, may be husband too. I think the domestic violence is alcohol induced. The wife made good effort but everyone get's to their limits at some points, she has gotten to her limit of coping with an alcoholic and she is free to move on. They both need to look after the children.

And the man has been sleeping outside too, nobody mentioned about that. Doing things for your wife doesn't give you licence to abuse alcohol, sleep outside & engage in domestic violence.
