I always liked to start and end workouts using only my off hand. It takes time but eventually you get to the point at which you no longer have an “off hand”. You become deadly and automatic with both.

The key is to keep working through the awkward uncomfortability. Also, don’t expect to have the same exact abilities with both hands. For example: I shoot a much different jumper with my off-hand than my strong hand. But both feel natural.

Try to think of your hips being in sync with the ball. When you bend or knees to gather power, dip the ball down too. When you're jumping, move your ball up at the same rate as your hips and then release when your core is fully extended. I have the same issue as you, so I found making sure it's all in one motion and in sync with my hips helps a lot!
