Listen, "Ladies", I'm 77 and have lead a relatively sheltered life; therefore I consider your postings a form of continuing education. 😁

William Marshall, the original "men want to be him, women what to be with him". For a 20th century Kiwi gal he is captain of the All Blacks and still playing into his 70s. What joining the knights templar on his deathbed is in modern times I haven't quite worked out.

Love the video!! This explains why William Marshal was such an important character in the Cate Blanchet “Robin Hood” movie. He spurs Robin to action!

Missed you live at your different time. WM is held up as quite the paragon of knighthood. They don't make 'em like that any more. Thanks for the episode!

Start the petition for Henry Cavill for William Marshall.
Iron Clad keeps popping up in suggestions to watch. Maybe I should watch it now.

Did a little googling of who "Uhtred son of Uhtred" was based on. The character in the tv show is fictitious but is loosely based on a real man who lived about 200 years later than when the show is set.
"Uhtred the Bold was the son of Waltheof I, ealdorman of Bamburgh, whose ancestors had ruled Northumbria from the dramatic coastal castle of Bamburgh. Earl Uhtred of Bebbanburg, also from Northumbria, features in Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories. In the stories, Cornwell places Uhtred earlier in history. The historical drama television series 'The Last Kingdom', in which Alexander Dreymon stars as Uhtred, is based on Bernard Cornwell's "The Saxon Stories". The historical Uhtred was ealdorman of Northumbria from 1006 to 1016."

Great video on "saint" William Marshall! I wonder, do you know if the biography commissioned by his family has been translated/published for the general public to read? I've always thought John Hurt did a good job of portraying him in "Robin Hood". But I'd go with Henry Cavill ! ⚔ 🏰 🗡🏹👑

I didn’t care how much you swear and ALWAYS keep the don’t Google it rule first and foremost in my mind. No little Timmy’s within earshot here.
However may I object to all the F bombs in Becoming Elizabeth? Just distracts from the general narrative in my mind. Of course I may be grumpy at seeing Queen Katherine Parr portrayed as such a right c••t.😂
