I was thinking how many times have I driven by that property over the past 50 years. Teehee. And now a good friend will live there. Very very joyful that you have found your bliss.
About a week ago i was thinking to myself that I hadn’t seen a fishermans life video in so long, well I was gifted with what I might call the best video. I’m so glad this property has finally presented itself. And I really hope you get a decent chainsaw mill. Lot of useful timber for chicken coops or other stuff. Can’t wait to see what comes next
Happy for you. I'm a professional asphalt installer. I've never seen anything like that my whole life hope you didn't pay much because it's not going to last
hey! love your new home! that horse looking donkey looks a bit malnourished, could you maybe feed it some nutritional goodies? please and thank youuu! excited for him/her become more friendly!
Hey Matt it's good to see you back on RUclips. I run a small tree service in the central valley area with dead trees like that it can be dangerous to fall them. Because of the Beatles they turn powdery so there's not much control. I'd be more than happy to come help you out with falling some trees
Appreciate it!! That's super generous of you, thanks! My friend TJ from Alaska is coming to visit soon, and he used to cut trees for a living. We've got a bunch of work we're going to do around the property while he's here including cutting those trees. Will be safe as possible!
@@nicktuttle7170 If your based near or in Visalia I might be a great groundsman for you... I've got 10 years experience and have even worked with PG&E before on their line clearance program. I can use a saw, dump (P.T.O.), drive, chip, residential work experience, clean-up and have even done basic bucket cuts when needed and know how to control all the hydraulics on the trucks and lifts. Let me know if you could possibly use someone like that. What is the name of your company? I used to work for Cut it Right-Fresno, Creative Tree in Visalia, Arborworks in Oakhurst and Core Tree care in Paradise, Ca for the emergency clean up efforts driving their large buckets, working a chipping team and general clean up work after the fires.
Love the support from everyone, and you’re the man and I love watching you, anyways, I pave for a living, I would save those guys numbers because that work they did is gonna be ugly in the next couple of years
Don’t forget to build wing walls on those culverts! Also check your wild-land urban interface (WUI) regs. . . . trees are nice to look at but wildfires are heartbreaking . . . my residence was consumed by a wildfire 11 years ago. 😎😘
It is such an awesome feeling to update our properties, that being the road, the house itself or anything around . Congratulations on your purchase, and the ability to do all this very nice and much needed upgrades.
Add concrete sediment traps before culverts. Probably should have used geotextile fabric under the aggregate base layer. I would have had a paver in there. Moving AC with a front end loader is not my first choice.
Fishermans life upgrade is awesome, a man and his land has a beutiful ring to it, cant wait to find out how to get a tour of your new place, and maybe even fish with u, I've been watching your fishing videos for a long time, and live close to outdoor pro shop, keep up the good work with both your channels, loving it. God bless
I love this new phase in your life. I wish Id have the opportunity to live in a nice mountain, with lots of land and peace. Theres several youtubers that have done this, Andrew Camarata, Life Uncontained, Diesel Creek etc. Congratulations Matt
Congrats on your new property. Found this video to be very informative and enlightening BTW... and was fun to watch. Never knew the stages of road building. What a beautiful improvement.
Bro... I am so happy for you.. I told my wife, I would love to stay on your property for vacation, I've watched you for so long, I feel like you're fam👊👊💯
Congratulations on all the success… I remember watching your videos when u were like 50k. Awesome to see people doing good! Hopefully my channel someday will get close to where yours is at and we can do a calab!!
Hey Matt. Okay have one question. At 18:18 of this video I notice a deer blind in the trees. Besides having guests for fishing, have you thought about deer season and having hunters there? It would be another way to have the property pay for itself.
Matts! I don't Idolize I don't hold people on a pedestal. But you Philosophy D Taku, my real life heros! Been watching since 2019. Looking forward to the future. Peace!!
I worked in construction 10 years ago. I remember doing a small apron for a guy prep and pave I asked him what my company was charging him he told me 5 grand. Seems like you got a good deal for material and labor at 24 grand.
Great to see what has become of this channel. As far as why you are catching so many small bass, that means there are too many fish in the pond and not enough resources for al of them. You will have to cull many of the small fish. You can also hire people to come and electroshock the pond to see what kind of fish are in there and what kind of fish you want to have removed to make it better. Love what your doing!!!!
Before you dropped the price, i thought 4 times what you said. I think that's a really good price. 10 years ago my grandma paid $5K for a residential driveway 100 feet long in Portland, OR.
Hey Matt, congratulations on your acquisition. I’m on my second home as a homeowner and growing up in the city, Concord & Walnut Creek, I’m a city boy at heart. But living in Paradise and other small towns I’ve learned that living in the countryside is a whole new world. If I may give you some advice/tips I would clear up all that dead brush/trees etc as far around your place as humanly possible, next I would educate the kids about ALL the wildlife in Paradise he area. Bears, mountain lions, rattlers of course come to mind, but there are SO MANY MORE things out there that are FAR more dangerous than those. It’s like scuba diving man, ppl think sharks are the biggest threat, but you and I know there are far bigger threats in the ocean and it’s the same in the woods. Congratulations you guys on an incredible purchase, stay safe. (John from California)
Okay. That was pretty awesome to watch. Just finished watching your Fisherman life Channel. And come over to see your new Channel and pretty cool man. Awesome to see you and your family doing well. Awesome my dude
Dope man you inspired me to create my own channel to try and make my dreams a reality. Seeing your evolution and this new channel is even more inspiring thx brotha !!!
Congratulations bro, you have come a long way & achieving your dreams . You showed us how to live & enjoy your life everyday. I have been watching all your fishing videos ,& really miss new ones. Will definitely hope to see more soon & hopefully one day come up to visit your new place with my family and do camping with you Raj
May god bless you and your family and anything you pit your mind too... what an amazing investment bro wish you nothing but the best 🙏 hope you keep growing more and more
Just found your channel, came here from your other channel.....I left a comment on your Fisherman's Life but it may be better left here......congratulations, what a beautiful property. I have 45 years experience designing Eco-Communities, Homesteads, Food Growing Farms, Landscapes, Greenhouses, Lakes, Ponds, Swimming Pools (100's of those in many states), Structures, etc. For doing this work, currently we have myself, 2 farmers, 2 architectural drafters, Interior Designer, Naturopathic Doctor, Realtor, graphic designer.....and then many other associations with experts in about every field needed to help steward land in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. That includes food growing/farming while improving the ecology as part of the process. Suggest a shallow diving (2' to 3') crankbait or spinner bait to do your shoreline exploring, to cover a bit more ground as you discover what's in your ponds. We also prepare all the building permit documents for what we do........based in California but work in many states and Central America. Again, wow, what a gem of a property!
P.s. the small "tubes" they placed in the bar ditch along the driveway....those are filled with straw and their function is to slow the velocity of the water running in the ditch. In terms of erosion, if water is allowed to pick up speed it has more power to erode your soils and carry it away downstream in the watershed. The fine silts can eventually find their way to your ponds and muck up the bottom, or worse if it goes to a stream/river with gravel beds that fish spawn in those silts can cover over the gravel and prevent fish being able to lay & fertilize their eggs in the voids in the gravel. I used to give seminars on this.
That’s awesome. I’m digging it. I grew up in the suburbs of Southern California. When I retired from the Army I moved to countryside of central New York. Got the chickens, garden, splitting my own wood etc. wife does the canning. We tapped maple trees this year which was awesome. Learning as I go. Glad to see your doing well. Keep it up.
I used to do excavating. Operating backhoes, tracked loaders, excavators, skidsteers..etc. when i did long driveways like this, the tracked loader (Cat 953) was the machine best suited for me. Easy to cut the diveway, move gravel and track it down tight (because it weighed 40,000 lbs) it would make the gravel super compact.
You ever need another pair of hands send me a PM. I have been learning from you and you videos for years. Your dedication and sacrifice has allowed you to achieve your goals . GREAT JOB MATT>>

It’s so amazing to see you create your dream life for yourself and your family. Been watching since about 20k subscribers. Congrats Matts!
Well said!
I know $30k is a lot of cheddar but that crew, plus truck, tractors, fuel and materials... $30k for all that work sounds like a great deal!
So good to see u back man. Been missing your vids! Really looking forward to watching this one.
The lack of content from Fishermans life made me come here. Happy for you and your project

Thanks for the price breakdowns!
Love the new homestead . Please give the Fisherman’s Life channel a quick update . Miss your content .
Congratulations Matt! Long time follower here. Love your solo camping and fishing adventures. Keep it up!
