I did my first trip in 2012 on my Royal Enfield Classic 500. My last time was two year back via Zanskar Valley - on the same bike and solo. This bought back some memories. Very fery few paved roads then and less crowded.
Must've been so amazing back in 2012. Of course lack of options also for stay and mechanics etc anywhere other than leh. If there was a time machine, id go back to the early 2000s and ride through ladakh.
New paved roads and tunnels are being constructed with defense and economy in mind, however they have a negative side effect: ecological damage due to *excessive tourism*.
@@amitkriit you can't have it both ways. Development and progress and economic prosperity and ecological damage go hand in hand. Not just in the mountains, everywhere. If social media goes away, 70% of tourism will drop.
Hi Vanessa, having done almost the exact trip thru Ladakh last summer I personally feel you forgot to mention the most impressive part of the trip: The people, please don't tell me you're not majorly impressed by the resilience of the people maintaining these roads mostly by hand. And also the friendliness and hospitality of the locals. I found the people friendly and warm to a degree that humbles me as a European. The landscape and the riding is great but the people will make me go back. Thanks for the video. AndyB
You are so right, the people were amazing, super accommodating and friendly, always smiling and waving even when hard at work on the roadside in tough conditions, big thank you and well done to them!
Thanks V, I've throughly enjoyed this series of vids. Great content, great filming - and now, as an adventure rider - on my bucket list. Thanks again. 👋
A great conclusion to a terrific ride Vanessa. All of you back safe is of course the most important thing, Those Enfield's did the job asked of then and apart from one bolt that escaped all was good. As for the toilets, well I've seen (but not used) a few of the squat and release types in Europe although that was a few years ago. Your current adventure is a personal one that may take some time but we will still be here for for you, Mr Ruck and Fluffy AKA the wonderful Anika a great team. Just a thought have you thought about an "Anika's Assignments or Fluffy Fun", bike series while you are occupied with something else? Many thanks for sharing and take great care as always.
Right now the Himalayan foothills is THE MOST DANGEROUS place on earth to be in due to the rains... Such particular season takes more life every year... I will pray to the mountain spirits to get you through safely... Be safe.. best of luck and happy riding.. 💪🏻 fighting..!!!
Un énorme merci pour avoir partagé cette aventure cela me touche beaucoup je penserai à toutes ces fabuleuses route en chevauchant mon Himalayan 450 👍👍👍. Grand ✌️✌️😍de la Haute Savoie France
Yes lots of traffic and many traffic jams at times also, they are tight corners and some big trucks and unfortunately it doesn't always go smoothly. Definitely a worthwhile trip - I would call it a trip of a lifetime
Love from Guwahati, Assam. Great ride. Do plan a visit this side as well. There are great bike circuits like Arunachal, Tawang, Meghalaya, Sikkim, etc. You'll love it 🫶🏻🫶🏻💚💚
Hi guys, wow another wonderful video and sadly it’s the end anyway I’ve really enjoyed it. Hope you have more adventures before you have this little baby and afterwards it’s going to be a little bit difficult strap on the child to the bike thank you once again cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 we are on the big island 🏝️
Yey so glad to hear that, I mega appreciate you support and for following along the journey! Still plenty more adventures and videos to come, both before the baby and after! I have some big plans hehe woo!
Um... Thank you, dear Vanessa. You've been to the Alps, the Carpathians and the Himalayas, moving from west to east. Where better? The Caucasus has been forgotten.
@@TheGirlOnABike Don't worry about the Caucasus. This geographical region is home to people who hate Russians more than anyone else in the world. For 1000 years now. Georgia, Armenia, the Northern Caucasus... So the representatives of the Caucasus Mountains will be very, very loyal to all sorts of Englishmen and other inhabitants of the "Land of Oz". I promise. They (representatives of the Caucasus) are very cultured, hospitable - rest assured, the inhabitants of all sorts of Bolivias and Columbias are not even fit to hold a candle to the inhabitants of the Caucasus.
@@TheGirlOnABike By the way, good morning and have a great day, my dear girl friend from the faraway kingdom. To you, your husband and your baby! Just noticed this comment-reply of yours. "18 hours ago".
Ladakh is getting extremely crowded thanks to the extensive network of roads being built. It is losing its charm as a place with scarce population. Plus I do not think this is good for the environment at all. Ladakh better impose a large entry tax for environmental damages caused. Something like the Bhutan model. North India is a massively populated place and the chances these mountain towns are going to get extremely crowded is very high. Eco-sensitive tourism is a must.
Terrific series and trip thanks for taking us along…. As you say it’s definitely a trip to be on everyone’s bucket list 👍 (Any recommendations on places to hire bikes to do a trip like this??)
You are more than welcome, thanks so much for joining me on the adventure, I am so glad you enjoyed it! There are so many rental places throughout India, my biggest suggestion would be jump on the Royal Enfield website and use one of their certified rental companies!
You travelled and covered more kilometres of india than most indians on bike . Kudos on a great series . Hopefully comeback next year and explore hill stations of western and eastern ghats
Wonder how many kilometers/miles you guys rode. Loved the Himalayan series. Great camera work and editing. Thank you for taking us on a great scenic ride with you. Btw, that bike is rugged and is a workhorse that seems like it could handle any kind of terrain. Bikes, I should say.
So what is next for you and fluffy? Who was that guy hanging out with you and fluffy? Really I know who he is I couldn't think of another things to say with fluffy in it 😁
We are also planning. I have Jawa Perak bike and I am waiting for the Himalayan 650 for now as my Bike is so low ground clearance that it can't go for offroad. But it's in our list. For now we are travelling to Dehradun (Highways).
I remembered to do it in the earlier videos hehe ooops, I think I got to excited and caught up with the trip, but if you are interested the full route is on my website 😁

Why Putting Large Taxes.. Just simply Advanced your Eco Friendly System and Maintainance..
We should Encourage More Tourists..
