      In 1976, the Houston Astros had a rain-IN. The players got to the dome around 9:00 A.M. Then a huge thunderstorm hit the city and dumped six inches of rain on the streets, so the fans couldn't get there.

    • @TheSSUltimateGoku
      @TheSSUltimateGoku 7 месяцев назад +1

      Dome was never consideration for Buffalo the owner and the local government officials wanted no part of a dome as it would have been too expensive. It was cheaper to do an outdoor stadium. Plus they wanted it to be cold weather in the stadium. The government officials didn’t even want to get a new stadium, but they didn’t want to take the risk of losing the team, so they reluctantly allowed it to happen the reason why there’s still gonna be an orchard park besides the owner wanting them there is because the heart of Buffalo would have been double the money for the cost of the stadium being actually in downtown Buffalo plus it would have been crazy to have it downtown.

  • @MegaSlowe
    @MegaSlowe 7 месяцев назад +17

    The Haslams originally proposed building a new domed stadium at E. 17th and Lakeside, in a No Man's Land area of downtown just east of the Erieview Tower. It's a totally blighted area of downtown, and it would've been a perfect place for the new stadium because it would sit just south of the Muni Lot where all the tailgating happens. Then, the city could take back the lakefront and demolish the current stadium, and do something truly useful like make it a really nice park. But of course, Cleveland said no, because Cleveland is Cleveland, and it's run by imbeciles.

    As someone who was born and raised in Northeast Ohio (in Bedford Heights), Brook Park seems like a terrible location for an NFL stadium - especially one with a dome. It’s because if gobs of money is going to be dumped into state of the art construction, you’re going to want it to be used for more than 50 hours a year. That’s literally the entire purpose of Cleveland going to a dome. The state of Ohio has a requirement for pro sports franchises to have their team up for sale in a six month period, if the team announced plans to move. That came to pass when the Columbus Crew of the MLS got an offer from Austin, TX to move there- with that league's support. Ironically, it was the Haslam's who came to the rescue, and with a stadium built in a corner of downtown Columbus, the Crew is where it belongs. Austin got an expansion team.

    The lakefront sucks. The parking situation is atrocious possibly the worst in the league, the location is miserable to navigate in and out of with the interstate, you only get 4 or 5 decent weather games a season , the stadium only host 10-12 activities counting football a year. Cleveland needs a modern dome that can host 30-40 events a year it would generate so much economic impact and tax revenue it would pay for itself. Leaving Cleveland lakefront should happen whether the city plays ball or not.

      @@davidlafleche1142 Tampa is just over saturated for its size. NFL/NHL and the MLB? Bit much for a city barely over 3 mill.

    Need to get off that old municipal lot. Its been a bad omen. Brookpark Browns sounds good. Easy access in and out north south east west. Need a state of the art dome. Lease is up after the 2028 season . So need to start breaking land soon this is 2024. So we would be at Cleveland Browns stadium 2024 to 2028 season. This new one will take at the least 3 yrs to build after the land bought is leveled. Its time. There is no homefield advantage in the playoffs in these AFC stadiums anymore. And certainly not in cleveland the last 40 some yrs. Red right 80. Denver 87. Besides most of the teams that make the playoffs in the AFC are cold weather teams . KC Buffalo Cincinnati Pittsburg Baltimore New England. Count the Jets also with Mr Rogers. And our most hated team the Broncos. 🟧🟫⬜️🟫🟧
